General Discussion / Re: tips for music

Here are some panning tips I found in some article:
-main vocal- middle
-background vocals- balanced throughout the panning spectrum
-percussions- snare & bass drum in the middle, everything else balanced throughout the panning spectrum
-bass- middle
-keyboards- left part of the keyboards completely left, right completely right
-multiple keyboards- every keyboard balanced on it's side
-guitar- close to the midle
-2 guitars- every guitar balanced on it's side
-brass, pipes- 1-opposite to the guitar
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, -more- balanced widely

Wow DarkAngel, that's awesome.

Kind of reminds me of this video a bit:
Siddharta - Platina

Keep up the good work!

Well, what if there would be more than one character included in the talking puzzle?

Quote...you can always just methodically click through all the options until you got what you wanted...
The simmilar thing happens with most of the adventure game puzzles, when you're stuck, just use everything with everything else.

The Darkness and blending of the jacket with the shirt aren't saturation issues, that happens because of the brightness. You see, I own a LCD monitor, and the picture is brighter at the bottom of the monitor. Sometimes it's hard to tell what the image will be like on other monitors.

It's not that big of a deal, but sometime it's a pain in the ass when pushing pixels around.

Here's my repaint:

Here's what I changed:
-shortened his neck,
-moved the lightsource just above him,
-gave him a stance in the frontview,
-made just one leg visible in the sideview,
-made jacket darker and shirt lighter (because of the outlines),
-changed the shape of his head a bit (both views)

What can be done next:
-fixing his hands,
-fixing the hair,
-...

Tip1:
When coloring your characters, you could create a palette of colors you used, like I did under the sprite.

Tip2:
Avoid using the colors in high saturation (see the pic below)

I hope this helps you.

Fascinating.

I got the flue, and I got drunk.

I also got:
-creative labs live! 24bit 5.1 bulk sound card (around 35$) because my old one fried,
-guitar strings.

How old are you anyway?

This site has A LOT of game music remixes.

You just have to check out the Dune music.

Why isn't he symmetrical then? I mean, if he's turned directly to the camera?

Here's my tribute to the MI theme, I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and today I bought new gutar strings so I went for it:

D_MI_Rock.zip (936 kb)

Rock on.

Nice work Darth, I'm glad to see you're using 'planometric' perspective again.

Just one suggestion: skew shrink the floor texture more in the 2nd pic, where Cosmo and Admiral Hoenes are standing.

I'm looking forward to the game.

Awesome Oz, I always loved the MI theme tune, and don't get me started about the Doom soundtrack...Ã,
...aaah, the good ol' times.

My advice is to make him look directly forward first, then create a side view from that.

And You could always use Eric's template to get the job done faster.

The AGS awards ceremony is held at the end of each year, that's the reason why there isn't one for 2004 yet.
