A torture chamber is not a good place to be at.

Critics' Lounge / Re: MIDI music for my game

In my opinion scary music should be very slow, except when something scary happens (something pops out of the closet, a dead body suddenly opens it's eyes, ...)

I have no idea on how to explain this further, you might want to check out an AGS game called Haunted Hollow, the music in it is very atmospheric and spooky.

Good or bad? Well I couldn't decide so I came up with this 130kb gif animation:

Unfortunately my harddrive crashed recently, so I had to use crappy software to convert to gif, notice the grainyness.

I like the cartoony style you're going for, looks realy cool.

Here is what you could change:
-the right arm is too long (unless that's what you were going for)
-in his current posture, his both feet should be facing the same direction

Also, here's a suggestion, when posting small sprites with small amount of colors use .gif or .png compression.Ã,  Jpg smudges things up and people will have a hard time repainting your images. To explain this better, here is your pic at 200% zoom:

Kinda reminds me of this guy:

There are some things that should be fixed, like the white pixels between the blue lines, and current shading makes him look like the gingerbread man. Also, the blue "ghostly" lines would look better if they were thicker on the outside part of LeChuck. And maybe if they were made out of a 2-3 color gradient...

Also, animating him is going to be a bi*ch, unless you converted him into vectors.

I agree, the new banner is much better than the old one, the only suggestion I have is to change the colors of the "Knightsbridge Chronicles" text because the letter "e" in "Knightsbridge" and first "C" in "Chronicles" kind of blend in with the yellow glow (on my monitor at least).

Zak McKracken and Rode quest2 were mentioned in Croatian PcGame magazine and were put on DVD.

I don't remember the exact review for each game but for Rode quest it was something like:
Help Rodekill stop the deterioating(sp?) of his ship. The fans of the underground culture will especially like this game. The graphics are excellent and the dialogs are filled with briliant humour.

And for Zak:
This game shows that big studios and huge amounts of cash are not needed to make a great computer game.

Bah, who needs smilies anyway.

I agree with Puddin', what's the point of making a midi that has a size of 30kb ,for example, into the same sounding ogg that 'weights' a few mb's more

But hey, I'm not sure if there's any free program to convert directly into the ogg from midi, so you couldÃ, use some program like MIDInight express to convert the midi into a wave file, and then use CDex to convert that wave file into an ogg file.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

After making the FoY skin, I wanted to make something more colorful, I noticed how dark your desktop is, must be the reason why bright colors 'bug' you so much.

Viktor:
First download winamp5 from http://www.winamp.com/player/ and install it. Now open up the winamp/skins directory, there should be a file there called Classic.wsz
You can open that file with winzip, and modify the bmp's in there.

Here's the 2nd skin I finished today:

Download the Jp & Cosmo skin here:

Mods: Cool thought, I have an idea where to use it.

Pretty cool!
But, what happens with the sandwitch? Does he just swallow it? Where's the chewing animation?

Anyway, I remember the cartoon called Oggy and the Cockroaches. Everytime I watched it I wanted to make something simmilar. The characters there don't speak, they use hand or facial gestures instead which looks really cool. If you want, check it out here:

Sometimes IE on my computer refuses to download the new version of the page, and runs the one I have in Temporary Internet Files directory.
Try deleting your Temporary internet Files, in the IE select tools->internet options menu.

Sometime that happens to me, I'm on dial-up and if I'm downloading something I get 404 images all over the pages I'm surfing.

Try right clicking on the 404 image and select show picture.

Browsing through the old crap I have on my hard disk, I found an old winamp skin I started working on a long time ago. Now it's finished:

Download the skin here:
D_FoYskin.zip

I have Winamp 5.02 and it works fine.
