i'm designing a series for tshirts, they're all based on a theme of hope, going to do 10-12 all together. What do you think?:

EDIT: New board

Just something small i noticed in the screenshots. Presumeably the door in the 2nd and 3rd screenshot are the same as you can see the bench through the door in the 'kitchen' shot, the door is hinged on opposite sides in the screenshots.

This one isn't on iTunes yet.
Please help out a poor Mac user.

The link should work anyway?

General Discussion / Re: wow, mspaint
Sat 18/02/2006 19:27:29
Personally i dont think it's great. Just a collection of MS paint images and as mentioned, its more to do with the time spent than actual talent. Opo Terser's stuff is amazing in comparison IMO.

I use the photoshop 'round rough bristle brush' with various sizes starting with a flat colour and then varying the size and opacity and avoidiing any extremeties in colours sticking to pastels. No filters used! Just been trying to think of lighting things in different ways for these to make them appear more interesting.

Anatomy isn't my thing at all, but ive given it a go:

Basically i just think its lacking the shape and subtleties to suggest its a woman. Smaller hands, dainty shoulders, thinner arms, curvy waist etc. I also think the face is too long and muscular as mentioned. Ive adjusted the post slightly too. Hope it helps.

not strictly game related, but for a project I'm working on atm, these are capsule toys:

dont shout at me for going twice lol.

EDIT: New one.

Just a little pointer, you should always try and paint onto a neateral colour (grey or greyish colours) as extremes like black and white throw your perception of colour, especially on a computer screen. Looks great though, i too look forward to the finished article!

some rough-as-arse concept work from the intro for LOTLL:

She appears to be missing a tail in your pic at the top of your 1st post ;)

got bored so knocked one up:

2x

I've named her the Domino Queen. Pink, adorable but ultimately deadly. Rumour has it she eats the head of male dominoes after mating! Eugh!

7 colours.

Thanks for all your support guys,

I can pretty much gaurantee the game wont be over 20mb, the only thing i can see hiking it is the music, but there'll be ways around that.

Looks really good so far, nice character, just a small point though, i'm really puzzled as to why you want to make a 'retail' version of the game? To be honest if you're hosting the game for free then i seriously doubt anyone wil pay out for a jewel case and a few extra documents. I think you'd do better to just host everything freely.

Keep up the good work :)

Critics' Lounge / Re: woodsy picture for C&C

I think your style is great, and the muted tones are what give it it's personality, so i wouldnt take something like that as criticism.

For the trees, id suggest the branches would be higher, if you follow the vanishing point, theoritcally the trees in the foreground would seem a lot larger than the ones in the BG, so the branches would be situated higher.

I like it very much, my comments for the detailling have already been listed, however my main crit would be on your choice of colours.

From your previous game, your hue and tone selection seemed fantastic, there a few parts of this scene that seem a little off for me presently though:

-The cabin itself seems too saturated, far too colourful considering the colour of the sky and the surroundings.
-The trees on the left are also too bright and bold in their colour

It just seems that your art style has a particular tone when it comes to colour, and these two seem to throw it a little. You could try making a pallete of colours up so that you know exactly which greens/browns/ etc you can use to keep everything consistent.

Apart from that it's a nice piece and i look forward to the next game :)

I sort of made it up as i went along so it doesnt really make any sense lol.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Scaling Problem
Tue 07/02/2006 22:49:22
I draw my rooms using my character as a reference for sizes of objects etc.

It's best to scale things so that the foreground objects are in proportion to the character at it's orignial size, because the scaling always goes down not up.

Oh my god. That's it for me. But what's the tent-shaped thing in the background?

Thanks :) it's a ship.
