Look great!

There are just a few small adjustments i'd make:

1: hermiones feet seem a little too big in relation to everyone elses
2: I think you should change the white in Harry's glasses to a skin colour, as his eyes look like cartoon eyes in relation to the other characters.
3. I think Ron's left cheek looks a little too fat, shave some pixels off.

Are these for a game? It'd be interesting to see how it develops, good job.

nice BG!

Just a quick pointer, not really a crit as such, more an observation. It's very unlikely that a computer screen would ever be visible behind a desk in a police station for obvious reasons.  :)

Nice bg, i love the design of the diner in particular :)

Just a couple of things i'd look at, as mentioned, the horizon seems a bit of an issue, so i did an extremely pap paintover on how it might be changed. Also bear in mind that the statue of liberty isnt very tall at all, so the height portrayed in here is extremely exxagerated. But theyre only small isues really, and i think it's a really neat idea on the whole :)

very nice character!

I think you've got the actual body pretty much spot on, my only suggestion would be to adjust the eyes to make them larger AKA the far left shot, it gives him much more character.

Awesome bg, as said, the only thing id change is the reflection colour, bare in mind that with rivers, the reflection colour is usually a mixture of the colour of whatever the water reflects and the colour of the banks beneath the water. The mixture depends on how deep the water is. Great job though :)

Hey all, i figured we should have a pretty generous timelimit on this one given that people will be bound to be quite busy celebrating over the next 2 weeks,

The topic for this one is:

ELTON JOHN AND HIS LOVER Vs. THE AGS COMMUNITY

This is obviously a battle of epic proprtions so i'd like to see what you can all come up with.

i like the style, reminds me of the glastonbury scenes in broken sword 3. Maybe just spend a little more time on detailling the BG and youre onto a winner.

Thanks very much or the feedback all, you've spotted some things i wouldnt have. I did drop my sprite in just for proportion and scale etc, but youre right in that the fireplace is too small (the extrusion in the wall is where the chimney breast is situated, we used to have a house with one just like that, and i've seen a few around),and the door is a little too big. The globe has to stay put im afraid, as it freatures within the plot ;). I'll be toning down the whole 'warped look' for the actual BG, and ill take into account all of the comments!  :)

Critics' Lounge / TLOTLL living room layout
Sun 11/12/2005 03:45:37
hey all, havent posted in here in a while so i thought i's put this up and ask for opinions. I found this a particularly tough toom to draw because i was restricted to a certain layout, and certain objects had to go in certainplaces etc. I really wanted to capture a cosy mood with the lighting too. Let me know what you all thnk. It's still rough and there are details to be added etc. Opinions and crits welcome.:

P.S: ive just noticed the top of the TV is a bit pissed perspective wise, so ill sort that for uture edits lol. :)

also not e that the arms should counter the balance of the legs, so when a left legs comes forward, so should a right arm, and vice versa,

Nice render, my only pointer would be that the myst is far too bright.

why not prepare a demo in 640, then scale it to 320 and see how it looks? Nice style, reminds me of that music video, was it status quo? the MTV one.

Krysis has a valid point, theoretically that leg has 3 joints, as its drawn as if theres a backside at the top, but plainly the backside is right above it.

ooh i like this, ill have a go after monday (college deadline).  ;D

I like the style, but id recommend mixing the pallette up a little in order to distinguish things like chairs etc from the floor, working with shadows could also help this. Remember, backgrounds are as their name intended, a back drop for the action, so try not to go crazy with the detail or it'll be too much on the eyes.

Good work!

The door isn't necessarily too small, but the character is. Theortically that character should get smaller the further away from the screen he goes, so hed be less than half of the doors size when he reached it.
