with shallow water, especially from such a height, the bottom of it should really show through, so id suggest making the water a lot murkier, other than that its nice.

i'm going for Grim Fandango, or Curse OF Monkey Island, both really strong scores.

well ive just finished a 3 month college brief, was an absoloute nightmare, but now i can get back to slowly wheeling on with the game. The plan is to start work on some more of the BGs for the 1st chapter, as i cant get enough time on a PC to start working on the programming.

I saw that the game was on so many peoples most wanted lists for 2005, and i think that's really cool, so thanks for everyone for not giving up hope.

Ill get something ready to post up for tomorrow morning, so check back.

On a side note, I also got my new Apple Mac, which will help greatly:

Dual 2.5ghz G5 Power Mac
1GB Ram
128MB Graphics (will be upgraded soon)
160gb HD
23" Phillips LDC Monitor
Liquid cooling

Makes tablet drawing so much easier, in that it's in total real time, there's no delay for complex brushes.

Updates coming over the next few days :)

First of all apologies for not being around much, but ive been absoloutely swamped with college. This is my new design website which has some of my art, graphics and photography work on it. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Hoping to pick back up on TLOTLL this spring but im looking at easter earliest realistically. It still lives though, so dont give up hope.

DanClarke, I would suggest adding punctuation to "dont", to add more zest, even -- dare I say -- zing! to your post. The rest looks good, keep up the good work! Can't waiit to see more posts!

QuantumRich, 'don't' be so gay.  :=

yes the shading on the letters are terrible, they look so flat, also i would suggest to put some detail in it
also
Quotelucasfilm
it is suposed to be Lucasfilm, try using this on the rest, it will add some life
also that is a good job for a firstcomer
now on the topic
i always use my mother computer because my computer can only use dos, when i heard about this program, i would really like to get it, if you find a link then please post it

mousemat, please dont be so anal as to correct somebodies punctuation when you yourself go on to use words like 'firstcomer' and 'mother computer'.

Flibble is right, youll happen accross your best plots and characters by accident. My game actually started as a joke, which is worrying.

Pixel version (x3), this one took me about 35 minutes. The base isn't finished, as i want to finish the backdrop completely before i decide on how it should look. Comments welcome!

p.s, i forgot to colour the gem asccordingly, please dont hurt me  ;)
#455
yeah i get you, i didnt spend too much time on it so the shading was quick, perhaps thats what makes it look that way. He's actually NOT a genie, although he is sort of 'enchanted' in a way. He's not quite as sinister as he appears either.

The green colouring actually has a meaning, but ill do the pixelized version next before i reveal why (ill give you a small clue, there isn't actually a body) :) Just let me know what you think, my style for the art is kind of all over the place at the moment, but fire away.

Edit by Andail: Sorry, but all those caps and stars in the title were an eye-sore. Use normal letters, thank you:)

indeed, i have been fooled by 3D glass before  :-X

By unwelcome i didn't mean it in the sense that it added to the mood, i mean it in a technical way, in the same way if soebody was to draw a moustache and glasses on the mona lisa.

hmm, it has some style to it, but im not really sure it works as a logo. For instance, a logo is something you should be able to put anywhere, and i cant personally see that fitting onto a letterhead or businesscard for example.

Design wise, the photo has clearly been lit with the vase in mind only, so the flower seems to appear 'unwelcome' in the image.
