nothing to do with perspective but just the foreground objects idea to add some depth, and make the dock seem a little less sparse:

sorry the style doesnt match your art, its late so i didnt want to spend too much time on it, but hopefully this will give you an idea of what i mean.

sorry progress on the game is a little slow at present, im currently beavering away with my website, so between that and work i havent been able to put a lot of time in on it in the last few days. The good news is that the site is nearly finished, so work will begin again. don't expect too many more 'art' updates, as im trying to save some of the work to be seen 1st time in the game, but ill be posting some animation on the site for crit sometime soon.

Ill also announce when the site is finished, so people can have a nosy around and tell me what they think.

Also, the game team name is now 'Team Yeki'.  ;)

just a final note: i don't think tha a side view of your chars is needed; think just at lucas' games, there is not a side view of the chars: there is a front and a back one, and a 3/4 view (maybe only the face is side viewed, can't remember) used to walk left and right... i think that those 3 views are just great, and the 3/4 instead of the side makes the chars less "stuck"... hmm, don't know how to say better...

btw, keep pixelling!

I forgot to mention, this view is a part of the walking anim. This frame probably wont be used, but i thought it was a good idea to establish a side view anyway before i began the animating.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, i agree on the mouth thing, but currently that seems to be the best one so far. The body is not all that important atthe moment, im more worried about the head and face atm. As i said before, edits are welcome!

ive been tweaking this one for a while, still not entirely sure about the head, but ill leave it to the critics, as you guys did a great job of helping me develop her idle stance :)

After time its difficult to see it from a critical point of view, because ive been working on it for a little while, so that's where you lot come in. Please dont pay too much attention to the arm as it's not finished.

Fire away.

The only thing that gets me is that the pose seems a little 'unnatural', she seems too contorted. I'd also suggest making the paws a lot bigger, as they seem to taper a little from the arms. Apart from that it's brilliant, good work!

I see myself in you DC man. Our styles are sooo alike. I work more with hardcore pixel editing, doing entire BGs in Paint. Which buy the way is a underrated tool for us "built in effect" haters. I've noticed you scan alot, from your drawings but in the end it comes out the same as mine. Or somewhere close. I also love your cartoonish characters. Coloring and perspective are perfect. It's great fun to see good quality on this forum, where most of the members and guests are not even mediocre. You don't want or NEED critisism from anyone here. Please finish the TLOTLL, don't let it die in your hands.

Thanks for the feedback, and dont worry it wont die off. I have to tell you though, none of the art you've seen for my game so far has been scanned, its just created from scratch using photoshop.

I have nothing against MS paint, but it's just that having used both, i find that anything paint can do, photoshop can do. People have this illusion that paint style graphics cant be acheived in photoshop, when with a few simple tweaks to the settings they can. Once you know that, its difficult to see what advantage paint can offer, particularly with some of the tools within photoshop.

thanks,
As for percentages, it's not really something i like discussing as it makes me feel under pressure lol. All ill say is that we're well underway with the graphical side of part 1, and will soon be spending a hell of a lot of time in the technical part of the forum, pestering everybody   ;)

Its a cool image, but I think that the guy looks out of place, the bottom half of him at least looks rather 'cartoony', where-as the skulls and candles etc look more realistic.

1. Put the plot and design of your game before how it looks, too many people get hung up on graphics, where 90% of a great game is the story and how it plays.

2. Try to think like a gamer, sit back and put yourself in their perspective when creating puzzles or deciding how to explain plots etc.

3. Take influence from whatever you can (books, films, music, games. etc)

These are just three i thought of quickly, im sure i could think of a list but i cant be assed writing it lol.
