Just saw on Twitter - I have no reason to believe its not genuine - that AGSer Amayirot Akago tragically took his own life this morning.  Thoughts are with his friends and family, I thought people here would want to know even though it's heartbreaking. Sorry to be the bearer of such very bad news.
Wait what!?! 8-0
But... why!
No!
I never knew him personally, but I always saw him as being part of the AGS Forums family. I still remember the post he made about the origins of his username. :~(

He will sorely be missed.

I know it won't happen. But now I'm hoping he will come onto the forums and say that someone made it up. :~(

No one seems to have guessed my pitch yet. Here's a hint, it got less than two votes. :~(

And a question: Are there any genres nobody here likes, meaning I should refrain from posting these?
I don't think anyone here likes adventure games, so you should avoid those. (laugh)
In all seriousness though, I doubt there's any genres that everybody here dislikes, so just keep posting any free games you find. :)

Also, Ziggurat is currently free on GOG.com. Just go to the homepage and you should find it on the banner at the top.

I can't tell if you are happy, or if you are laughing at me.
I'm happy! :-D Why would I be laughing? ???

Rather than reveal my vote, I thought it might be nice to offer a bit of feedback on each pitch.
I think that was a great idea, and I loved reading the feedback on my pitch.
I'll probably do the same in the next contest.

Oh my goodness. I can't imagine how long it must have taken just to make that short animation of the sun rising.

To be that guy. Bulbasaur = many plants come in the form of bulbs. See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulb A -saur suffix is used here to mean a dinosaur, which is to say an extinct reptile. So there we have it.
But it's not called Bulbasaur in Japanese. After all, Venonat is based on a mite, not a gnat. The English translations of Pokemon names are usually quite meaningless when determining what a Pokemon is based on (sometimes the original names are equally meaningless).

"He is a Bulbasaur! Duh!"
Best answer I've ever read for this question. :-D

I do find that my graphics suddenly lean more towards the AGI sprite-size than the smaller pixel size of later SCI games, which is the style I'm going for.
AGI games were at 160x200, while the play area for Day of the Tentacle (not including the 9-Verb bar) was around 320x144. So having a resolution of 320x180 should be more than enough for games that look similar to the old SCI games.

Voted. :-D
Also it was a tough choice. I easily managed to narrow it down to two, but it felt impossible to choose between those two.
Some really good pitches. :-D

Why not just put the extra icons in the exe and let the user choose the one they like best?
(Of course, must users don't know they can change the icon...) (roll)
Sounds like a good idea to me. Probably throw in a green cup while we're at it, since I remember someone having a problem with the cup being blue. (laugh)

Most users probably don't know they can change icon, because very few programs offer alternate icons. I can only list two games which I remember having it. The Petz series, and Megaman X6.

What even is Bulbasaur? He's like a cross between a tortoise, a toad, a plant, and a dinosaur or some kind.
I always figured he was a plant tortoise, because of the bulb on his back, but after all these years, I'm still not sure. ???

While they do say that it won't allow us to time travel, has anyone tried shoving it in the back of a DeLorean and driving at 88 mph?
You won't know if it works until you try it. :-D

You don't save a copy of your messages in "sent messages"? 8-0

You should check that checkbox!

Quote from: Andail on Tue 29/05/2018 15:46:59
I sure can, but as Snarky said, you should find your message in your "sent messages" box :)

Ok, now I feel like a real idiot. I've just found it. :-[
Can you believe I never knew that tab existed, despite having looked for something like it several times.
Thank you two for telling me. :-D
