Those are absolutely gorgeous Kastchey.
Now the only question that remains is whether or not they should remain gold, or they should be changed to blue. :-\
Either way, I love it, and it should definitely go in. (nod)

Since nobody seems able to figure out the answer I googled "dos game boxing kangaroo" and found Sierra Championship Boxing. Gonna give up my turn to whoever wants it.
Wow... I had no idea Sierra even made such a game.

Aztecs?
They look a little... smooth. Like they're incomplete somehow. But the basic structure is brilliant.

Yes, I do trace but stopped since I spoke at an artist who told me that I wouldn't learn that way. But I think I'll try tracing some anatomy again. Thanks
No no no no no no no no, do not trace. Never ever EVER trace. Never ever!
Reference!
Always reference!
Look at the picture and copy via reference!
That's how you learn.
You don't learn from tracing. (Unless you want to become good at rotoscoping, which can be helpful for animation.)

The Rumpus Room / Re: What grinds my gears!

Alright time to unload all of the things that really REALLY grinds my gears.
I've actually brought up a few of these things on other threads, but I think it's about time I just vented.
So I want everyone to just imagine that everything below is in block capitals.

I really hate it when people call a game 8-bit just because it has pixel art. The game clearly isn't using 256 colours, nor is it imitating an 8-bit console of any kind (not even of the fictional kind), yet they insist on calling it 8-bit!
What's worse, these games usually look closer to a 16-bit console game.

It grinds my gears how much people hate mismatched pixels. Ok, I get it, you all hate mismatched pixels. But can you accept for just one second that there are some people out there that think they look nice! And that some people use mismatched pixels out of artistic freedom and not out of an incompetent inability to use pixels "properly".
Mismatched pixels aren't even a new thing, a very good example are all of the games that used the Midway MCR-III. The sprites were all twice as detailed as the backgrounds. I admit, mismatched pixels were extremely rare until about ten years ago though.

It grinds my gears that everyone actually seems to believe that kids these days would only recognise a floppy disk as a save icon. I have never encountered any kid who thought that. If they recognise a save icon, then they recognise a floppy disk. And I'm willing to bet there are just as many old people who don't know what a floppy disk is, as there are kids who don't recognise one.
That's not to say that kids know all outdated tech. Show any kid an 8-Track and you'll always be met with confusion. But floppy disks are as embedded in culture as vinyl records (at least for now).

Which brings me onto my next thing. It grinds my gears when people say we live in a time when everyone has the shortest attention spans ever. Really? REALLY!?!
Then how do you explain Minecraft's continual relevance. If that was true, people would have moved on from that game in 2012. It's 2018 and people are still playing it like mad!
And nowadays people get so invested in a show, they marathon through it all in a single sitting!
If anything, we had a shorter attention span in the past. Remember flitting between arcade games back when they were popular?

Finally, the most recent thing that's been grinding my gears.
People have been constantly saying that Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is lighting in a bottle. That until someone else manages to replicate its success on what many consider to be a shoe-string budget, that it's nothing more than a one time occurrence.
Except I can list 100s of games which have basically done the same thing. But of course no one will listen to that list, since they'll find irrelevant and petty reasons as to why those games don't count. Despite the fact that the only thing that does count is whether a successful game came out of such a small budget!

Ah... that feels so much better. :-D
I've been holding that all in for waaaaaaaay too long.

Congratulations, it always puts a smile on my face when I see a new Maniac Mansion Mania episode.
And when I saw this two years ago, I remember thinking to myself that it would fit in perfectly as a Maniac Mansion Mania episode. It's nice to know it became one. :-D

I find the best way to first learn how to draw, is copy others.
Find a comic which you like the art of, get a pencil and some paper, and copy one of the panels every single day. Within a year you'll become a somewhat competent artist, and those skills translate well into forms of art (including pixel art I've found).

From there you can try to focus your skills. Mess about in art programs, read and/or watch tutorials, try colouring in all of the original GB Pokemon sprites using the colours from the GBA Pokemon games. Whatever you do, after about another year, you should be good enough to make art for your games that you'll be proud of.

It worked for me. And I hate making art.
And you should see your skills come a long way within just a few months of simply copying via reference.

League of Gentlemen?

I just want to add to this discussion.
I've tried using the tool, and it seems as though it has problems with all special characters, even if those special characters are on the non-translated lines.

Because if you try to translate a line with a special character on it, the special character(s) gets messed up and the game does not recognise the line, and therefore doesn't translate it.

So the problem is definitely in the way the program is converting it to a .TRA file.
