You just have to look at how Windows deals with the registry compared to Linux and MacOS to realise how many corners Microsoft cuts.
I formed that opinion way waaaaaaaaay before I got onto the internet and realised it was a meme (although I suppose back then I had nothing to support that opinion).

To my knowledge Microsoft has only ever made two things that actually work. The original Xbox, and Age of Empires. And they only published the latter.

I think it's fine if people want to have Norton or Avast running on their system. (I mention these because they're particularly obnoxious.)

Just to clarify. Even though I recommend always having an anti-virus installed. If your choices are between those two, then I'll gladly take back that statement. Norton is worse than any virus I've ever had.

I didn't know Win 10 already had a decent anti-virus in it... still, Microsoft is terrible at making everything, so I still would replace it with something better.

I also find it very hard to believe that Chrome works better with only the default anti-virus installed, but if they say so, then I suppose it must be true. But it also means those developers are really getting lazy when it comes down to working on the security features of Chrome.
Remind me to switch back to Firefox if I ever move to Windows 10.

I'm a bit of a lone wolf too. But I've noticed a few things I prefer from helping other people with their projects: keep in constant communication with them, and tell them what they need to do (always give them a new task when they've finished one). Also remember that it'll take them quite a while to figure out the details of what you've got so far. So make sure to constantly summarise and give them the necessary details whenever you give them a task. Don't expect them to study the current design documents for hours on end to figure it all out.

Oh, and find somewhere to communicate easily and quickly. Facebook, Slack, a Google Doc.

Agreed. Just because it's pixel art, does NOT make it retro.
Of course there's nothing wrong with having pixel art and not being retro. It's just annoying when everyone calls their game retro just because it uses pixel art.

I'm still running Win 7 on my main machine, and afaik, using AV software is recommended in that case. You don't need it for Win 10 though.

Heck, if you've got Linux installed, I still suggest installing Antivirus software. Sure there aren't many viruses on Linux, but if you ever transfer files from a Linux computer to a Windows one, then you're going to want Antivirus software to be able screen those files.

But I disagree that it's laziness - I usually prefer the "gliding" mode in AGS games, unless the frame rate of the animation is high enough to result in smooth movement and scrolling.

Same here. I actually prefer the gliding effects, and as such usually turn it on, on my games. It just feels more natural and smoother. You just need a high enough frame rate of animation like you said.

All I'd say is that the way the game celebrates pixel art is at the same time denying it too and I really dislike like it Is anyone sharing my opinion? This was the question in the first instance

I heartily disagree. Pixel art does not have to be pixel perfect. That's like saying all portraits have to be painted on canvas. Technology moves on! And thanks to the limitations of technology in the past, a new artstyle was created, which was pixel art. But we shouldn't have to constrain ourselves as to how that pixel art is displayed, just because those constraints were around when the artstyle came about.

Pixel art in my opinion, is when you're highly aware of the individual pixels in your art. Using a series of blocks to trick the eye into seeing a mosaic image as something more complex than it actually is. The fact that you can misalign it on top of another piece of pixel art, does not automatically invalidate it as pixel art.

If you actually drew pixel art, you would understand what I mean.
