Is that Metal Gear Solid?
Or perhaps Rainbow Six?

As for the Alter Ego game. I've played it! :-D
Although that ending. Damn, I don't think I've ever seen a more emotional ending in my whole life. When you get to the end of the game... that's it. The end. No game over, no "This is how you did!", no score, no nothing. You just... die!
Just like in real life. Kind of depressing really, especially with how my first character lived her life.

Congratulation Scavenger. :-D
Also, those poor birds that are going to the furnace. Ah well, at least they'll keep me warm... even though it's summer.

Is that climate change denialism I smell? Why, I believe it is! Well, I suppose this is the thread for it.

I believe the general consensus for people who don't believe in global warming, is that climate change has more of an effect.
Which I usually take to mean that global warming exists, but not at the scale governments lead you to believe, because what they usually point at is actually climate change.

Or at least that's the impression I've built up over time.

Personally I think you'd have to be an idiot to deny that it's possible, simply because it's basic science. Just look at how an actual greenhouse works.
The argument they raise is that humans can't have that much of an impact. Which is hard to believe, considering we seem to be able to make a huge impact on everything else in the world, even driving animals to extinction.

While they're definitely nice pictures, they seem to be lacking something aesthetically.

Maybe's it's the photorealistic quality, but personally I feel as though it's missing a certain charm, especially in that bottom picture.
I can't quite place my finger on it though. :-\

Yeah, this world is brimming with alternatives

Considering there are nearly 300 active currencies in the world, then the answer is yes. There are LOADS of alternatives.

A very short story with an unexpecte idea and clever use of words and even a plot twist in the end. But why did you feel the need to explain the joke ("They both laughed because Bill had said revolution instead of resolution.")? Especially considering that you contradict this statement in the very next sentence? Even with this small deficit, this was a very enjoyable story.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-D
I think the reason for that small problem you described, is the result of me making it up on the fly with little to no prior thought or afterthought.
If I had given it more consideration, I would have no doubt written it better.

Congrats Baron on winning 1st place.

I will surely check that out, although there is the issue with how people set their monitor lighting levels as well...

That's true, but the majority of people do seem to be pointing it out. So either everyone has their monitor set too dark or your monitor is a bit too bright.

Although I do wonder why you have the backgrounds so dark.
Is it because it's a horror game, and you think it would be scarier if you can't see anything, or is it simply because you want to set it at night.
If the latter, then there are other ways to make it seem dark, without actually making it dark.
If the former though, then I suppose you're on the right track. Just don't let it interfere with the gameplay too much.

Just remember that we're only trying to help. :-D

By the way, you probably already know this but your character's light level doesn't quite match the room's light level. If you get what I mean.

I use it all the time. It's brilliant software, especially once you figure out how to configure it.

Did you just want to know whether it was credible?

I was about to forfeit my turn anyway so if you want to take it, Danvsare, go for it.

Really? Are you sure?
Well, ok then.
Thanks! :-D

EDIT:
A second picture to make it a bit easier.

And here's a hint.
IMDb says the film was released in 2010, Rotten Tomatoes says the film was released in 2011.
Make of that what you will.

EDIT 2:
A third picture, since no one has even so much as made a guess yet.

Hopefully you can recognize that actor. ;)
Also, this film is quite bad in my opinion (and according to the critics).

Aw damn, if I had been here a few hours earlier, I probably would've gotten that.
That wig is unmistakable!

Great film too. I should really watch it again.

You could (and I honestly don't know if this could work) make a custom font, with the unused characters in one font replaced with the letters from another font. And then just use that font for whenever you need to have multiple fonts on a single line of text.

It's just an idea though. There's probably all sorts of problems I'm not considering here.

Congratulations on the release.
It looks like this will be a very fun game to play. 8-)

Ah, AVGN The Movie.
That was a good movie (despite what some people may say), and I especially liked the review at the end. :-D

Congratulations everyone! :-D
You all deserve it for such great entries.

And a big congratulations to you Frikker. Your background definitely deserves first place.

Ha, I won two trophies!
That makes me the best!

In all seriousness though, congratulations Mokho, you deserve it. :-D

What do you know, I already knew most of this. :-D

So here's my two cents. The reason why the whole world is still in debt, is because everyone is too proud to call it off.
Think of it like this. There's three people, Bill, Will, and Jill.
Bill owes Will £10
Will owes Jill £10
and Jill owes Bill £10

The cumulative debt is £30, although in actual fact, they could easily (and definitely should) just call off the debt altogether, since they'd all be effectively paying each other off by calling off the debt.

Of course it's much more complex than that, because there's a lot more than just three, and each country doesn't owe each other the exact same amount. But I'm sure if you did a bit of math, you'd easily be able to find out that the actual debt that should be paid, is barely a faction of what it's supposed to be.

Wow, that's some brilliant art, and very interesting designs.

My favorite is that thing with it's mouth wide open, that looks like it's both scratching its arm and covering itself, because it realizes it's naked.

Character: Baron (How he wrote all of those different animals, it was just so convincing!)
Setting: Baron (What can I say, I loved the setting.)
Plot: Baron (The plot was simply superb, and that ending!)
Word Choice: Baron (I'm usually not too good when it comes down to who has the better word choice, but I think it was easy this time.)
Revolution: Baron (What can I say, it stuck to the theme perfectly.)

Maybe it's just me, but I think Johnny's hair on that sprite, makes it look like a lion's mane. The white hair, the light skin colour, and the way the hair follows the back of the head, kinda tricks my eyes into thinking that it goes under his chin as well.

Also, the live-action screenshot shows Johnny's coat having short sleeves. While your sprite's coat doesn't have any sleeves at all. It's not an issue, just an inconsistency I thought I'd point out.
