Well done by the way.

My vote goes to Cassiebsg, because that dino is just adorable!
Plus, I like it's design.

everyone who choses the C64 palette deserves to instawin this! If not for that, the description and the execution rock, so my vote goes to scavenger!
Also Selmiak, Scavenger is clearly using the EGA palette, not the C64 palette.

Sorry  maybe it's foolish question but my character doesn't walk at all . I made a new default game too . Not any error

Have you laid down a walkable area?
If you have, does your character start on it?

Hmm, I'm fairly sure there was an old plugin that did something like this. :-\
Unfortunately, that's the only help I can give. Someone else will probably be more helpful, sorry.

Why does the main character in that game, look like the Guybrush Threepwood sprite from Monkey Island 2? (wtf)

Definitely a huge improvement.
I especially like the little details you added.

I'm not very good at critiquing shading and colour use (probably because I'm not very good at those two myself), but I can tell you that you have not done too much dithering. The colours you've used for the dithering on the sand might be a little too close together, and you could probably do with some slightly other forms of dithering, but other than that, it looks nice.

I do think your sand is a little too orange for my taste, but then again like I said, I'm not too good at critiquing shading and colour use.

Wow, I'll be honest. You did a damn good job at fooling everyone. :-D

Also, the way you managed to fake all of those screenshots with the minimal of effort is very impressive.
I'd still like to see it turned into a game though. Of course without the whole VR stuff... and probably without the 3D models as well... and the animating lava... ok, so there was nothing to turn into a game. But still, it sounded interesting! :~(

Yeah, big thanks Zoo977! :-D
Not only for the tutorial, but all of the lovely fonts as well.

Hmm, I might use this tutorial to make a pixel font myself. 8-)

Definitely a huge improvement.
Now THAT is a mustache. :-D

You could just download and test them all.
I'm sure there won't be any DOS ones after 2003, so just download and test all the ones from before then.

Is there any particular reason why you're building up a list of which ones were for DOS?

I think there's several problems with the mustache that's causing you trouble.
Firstly, it's too low down. It needs to be above the mouth, not where the mouth actually is.
Secondly, the five-o-clock shadow clashes with the mustache. No one expects to see a character with both a mustache and a five-o-clock shadow like that. And anyone with a mustache that magnificent, is problem going to be much more clean shaven. In short, I recommend you downplay the five-o-clock shadow a bit.
Thirdly, the mustache lacks definition. It's just one colour. You need to use another colour to either add highlighting or shadows. Make it stand out. You could also possibly replace those skin-colour pixels that illustrate a curved mustache, with some highlighting, although I'm not sure if that would work.

In my opinion, the only sprite which doesn't make him look like a smiling buck-toothed hillbilly, is the last sprite. And that's probably because his mustache is extending beyond the face. So that's probably a good place to start.

Good luck. :-D

So, some people showed interest but we don't have an actual entry yet.

There's still a bit more than a day left, but should someone need an extension, just ask.

Seriously? Not a single entry?
Well in that case, I'll make a quick, short, rushed entry. :-D

Two people, one called Bill, and the other named Will, were celebrating New Years day.
The clock was ticking down, and then Bill asked Will what his New Year Revolution would be.
Will said it would be to overthrow the government. They both laughed because Bill had said revolution instead of resolution.
But in actual fact, Will hadn't realized that Bill had said the wrong word. He meant what he said. He was going to overthrow the government.
Although like all New Year Resolutions, he gave up the very next day.

Just to confirm, is it definitely at 8pm GMT or is it BST?
And what about those of us in America? I can't unravel the mystery of your fancy metric time! :=

I know exactly what you mean. Which is why someone should point out what colour it is: http://www.phrenopolis.com/colorclock/ (laugh)

Of course it's wine. I just like drinking it out of a mouthwash bottle.
Where have your eyebrows gone?

Woo hoo! Ark's back! :-D

Hmm, is it Septerra Core?
I've only ever played a bit of that game, but that screenshot kind of looks like it could be a cutscene in it. Although I doubt I'm right.
