I don't think any of them sound like natural RP English, I'm afraid. V is the best, but it sounds like a parody posh voice to me.
I've actually once had a tutor whose voice sounded like a parody of a posh voice. She was a nice woman, but damn did she have a weird accent.

Fair enough! RP means Received Pronunciation. It's the (somewhat euphemistic) term for 'proper' English or 'BBC' English.
Ahh, "BBC" English. The reason why the accents of the assistants on the latest seasons of Doctor Who, ever so slightly annoy me. (I live close to Sheffield, and their accents are not even close to being in the same ballpark.)

B sounds like an American to me.
I'm not sure whether A or V sounds more British. Maybe V. The voice actors are clearly going for a London accent and I'm from South Yorkshire, so I'm not exactly the best judge.

Well if you're looking for inspiration, I recommend internet creepypastas as well as children's TV shows. The latter of which should give you some great ideas.
I tell you, if you've ever had to sit through one of those mind-numbingly boring little kid's shows as an adult, you'll quickly come up with a horrifically dark backstory for it just to survive the ordeal. I still remember the messed up backstory I came up with to explain the events of In The Night Garden. And to this day, I think there's a chance it might be canon.

Yet, punctuation is absent...  (laugh)
At least they used "your" correctly.  :-D

Talking about side-effects, I haven’t pooped since my jab.
It's quite possible that's just a coincidence.
Or a side-effect of a side-effect.  :-\
You know what, forget what I just said and go drink a gallon of prune juice or something.  (laugh)

From October, people who can get vaccinated but won't have to pay 15 Euros to get tested, so the anti-vaxxers are calling for a boycott of restaurants and other venues where only vaccinated or tested are allowed...
So they want to boycott the places where they won't be allowed in unless they pay 15 Euros to get in, which they probably wouldn't be willing to pay for in the first place?
...
That's like me saying I'm going to boycott all football video games, when I've never played and have no intention of ever playing a football video game in my life.  (laugh)

In terms of art, I'm a complete amateur who ignores perspective and vanishing points.  (laugh)
But seeing this, and the result of treating the vanishing point as a circle, is absolutely awesome! It almost makes me wish I was a decent artist so I could incorporate it into my artstyle.

Thanks for this Yitcomics.

I agree. I think AGS would be perfectly suited for making a digital comic of some kind. It's ridiculously easy to set up cutscenes and such, so I can easily imagine how you'd make a digital comic.  (nod)

The thing is though, I've never liked the idea of digital comics like those. At what point does it simply become easier and more entertaining to just make a game?

Looking good.
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly you seem to make these games.

Nuts and bugs both have tons of protein.
Unfortunately, most people have an adversity to eating bugs (including me), despite them being safer to eat than meat.
While the enivironmental footprint is way smaller, I'm pretty sure bugs are still "meat".
Agreed, but they don't really fall into any of the arguments I've heard for why you should go Vegetarian or even Vegan.
For example, like Honza said, they're not even complex enough to properly feel pain. I mean, sure they kinda can, but plants also kinda can. Besides, I'm pretty sure even Vegans will gladly kill a fly buzzing around their house or exterminate ants that have made their way into their kitchen.

Interesting. Is that the criteria you would set, then? "They feel the way we feel, so we shouldn't eat them" (yum yum to all the reptiles and insects and plants)?
Pretty much. I mean, it is the main moral reason isn't it? (Although like I said, insects don't really qualify for any or the arguments I've heard for vegetarinism, from health, environment, morally, or other stuff.)
But personally I think the argument of suffering can still be applied to reptiles, bird, and fish. Probably even arachnids based on what I've seen. But insects and plants. They're fair game. If not, then I guess the only morally correct thing to eat is bacteria and single-cell organisms.  (laugh)

It hasn't been brought up yet: artificial meat. Can't wait to try those. They can't be worse than vegan bratwurst.
Same.  (nod)

When doing a BBQ, I usually eat Halloumi cheese. But I've heard that it has a very bad environmental footprint, so I'm looking for alternatives. I love grilled veggies and bread, but are there any suggestions for protein-rich things apart from fake-meats that I could use?

Oh, and I'll take a look at Gujarat cuisine, sounds awesome!

For the past few years I have been concerned about weather it is right or wrong for animals to be slaughtered for food on a commercial basis..
Oh it's definitely wrong.  (nod)
I've heard all of the arguments for vegetarianism and veganism, and they're all sound arguments that I wholeheartedly agree with. Ranging from the moral implications, the health reasons, to the efficiency reasons. They have a lot of sound arguments.
But at the risk of sounding like a total psychopath, I simply don't care. As long as it's not my own pet that I'm eating, I'll gladly eat another animal.  (nod)
Maybe' it's because none of those reasons have an effect on my moral philosophy.  ???

Like everyone says though, even if you do eat meat, you shouldn't eat loads of it every day. Not only are there the obvious moral implications, but there's also obvious health reasons. Variety is the spice of life as they say.

Also, to add to this conversation, my sister is a pescatarian (the only meat she'll eat is fish), so I've eaten a lot of vegetarian food. It's quite nice.
The reason she's a pescatarian isn't for any moral reasons though. She'll gladly eat bacon if given the chance. The reason she's a pescatarian is because she's allergic to something in the meat, and it makes her feel unwell (so in other words, make sure you don't let her see some cooked bacon). The thing is, her boyfriend's mother has the same thing, and I talk to someone online whose girlfriend also has the same problem. So it's clearly not that uncommon.

Also thanks for doubling the inventory space. This game is going to be brilliant.  :-D

Looks good. May I recommend making a few alterations to the GUI though. Having only four inventory items shown at once, gets very annoying very fast.
There's plenty of space above, below, and on both sides. You could easily double it up to have eight, or just put two more on the side to make six. Either option will do for me. Just please, make it display more than four items.

I'll try.  (laugh)

Thank you!  :-D

General Discussion / Re: Steamdeck!

I literally just found out that something almost exactly like this was supposed to come out in 2016 (and failed).
It's called the Smach Zero:

It would've predated the Nintendo Switch, and I only just found out about it today!  8-0
Well, you've got to give the Steam Deck credit where credit's due. They improved the marketing a lot by simply announcing it on a odd-numbered year instead of an even-numbered one.  (laugh)
Who knows, maybe doing the exact same thing and expecting different results will work out for them.  (laugh)

It's basically just a laptop with a controller glued onto the sides. I agree with WHAM 100% on his take (especially since you see this exact same thing play out every two years like clockwork). That being said, I don't think it'll be an unmitigated failure. I'm sure hardcore fans will use it to play PS2, GameCube, Wii, and maybe even PS3 games on the go (trust me, emulators are going to go on this thing quicker than you can say "But it's for Steam."). Because lets face it, if you really wanted to play your Steam games on the go, you're either already going to have it on the Switch, or you'd much rather just play it on a powerful laptop that you already own.

I already predicted this back in 2019:
[imgzoom]https://img.comicfury.com/comics/175/14380a1567527122f23798554.png[/imgzoom]

It's a bit of a reoccurring pattern dating back to at least 2011 with the OnLive.
I'm still wondering what I'm missing from 2017 though.  ???

(Also, I'm not kidding about me having predicted this. If you go to the webcomic and hover the mouse over the comic, you get a little bonus joke, this one saying "I can't wait for the next big thing to come out in 2021". I love being able to perfectly predict stuff like this.)

EDIT: Uh, having looked around a bit on the forum. It seems as though I probably should've posted this response on this thread https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=59303 where it would've been more appropriate. So could a moderator move my response over there. Sorry.
