It's almost as if I am posting stuff if I find them funny.
There's nothing wrong with you finding what you post to be funny, but you've got to think about your audience before you post it.
If I posted everything that I found funny, you'd think I was a sick bastard. (For example, I quite literally giggled in the cinema while watching IT Part 1, at the section where Georgie had his arm ripped off.)

Besides, simply finding a decomposing bat in your salad isn't funny. Someone actually taking a bite out of it before realizing it was there, now that's hilarious.  (laugh)

I bet if you brought together all of the unused assets from all of the unfinished Space Quest 3 remakes, you might actually have a finished game.  (laugh)

This looks good though, and it looks like you've already gotten quite a lot done. I especially like the artstyle, it kinda has a Monkey Island look to it.
Good luck with it.  :-D

Definitely the second one.  (laugh)

Oh, those thicker lines definitely makes it look almost like a comic book!  (nod)
Up to this point, it's just looked like a cartoon to me.

Will there be a 2021 AGS Awards and if so ... when?
Yes, next year, anywhere from February to May. Most likely around March or April though.

I'm a "Windows Insider" and already running a preview build of Windows 11. I like it so far, except for a few annoying details. For instance when I press ⊞+P to extend my display to my TV, I can suddenly no longer use the arrow keys to move the selection...!?

Also, the "Recommended" section of the new Start Menu is just a list of recently opened files and extremely useless despite taking up half the space. Still better than the tiles though. :P
Overall, would you say that it's better than Windows 10, on par, or worse?  ???

I got mine at the beginning of May. Which I still find odd, since people my age weren't supposed to be getting it until a month after I got mine.  :-\
But hey, I'm not complaining.

Welcome to the forums Giacomo. I look forward to seeing what you make.
Good luck with becoming a programming. It sounds like you're making great headway on that, so I'm happy for you.

Also a little bit of advice. If you want to get better at pixel art, but you're not very good at art in general. I highly recommend practicing drawing with a pencil and paper. It might not seem like it, but traditional art skills carry over to all types of art, including pixel art. My pixel art came along in leaps and bounds when I started learning myself how to draw. If you already have a reasonable drawing ability though, then you can ignore what I just said.  :-D

It grinds my gears when someone leaves a voicemail, asking you to call back, and then quickly saying the phone number and hanging up.
I usually have to listen to the same message a dozen times just to be able to write down the number.
The audio quality already makes it difficult to understand the numbers. Saying it quickly doesn't help! And it's even worse when there's a long introduction before they get to the telephone number, so you have to spend even more time listening to the message.

Why can't people just say the number slowly, giving noticeable pauses every three or four numbers, and repeating it all at least once. That's what TV adverts do, and they actually have good audio quality!
Or better yet, leave a text!  >:(

They look more like graphics you'd see in a cartoon than a comic.

The first time I played The Curse of Monkey Island, it was on a compilation Warez CD. A Blobby I think. As such, all of the music and voices were removed to save on space. The sound effects were still in though.
Strangely enough though, the music and voices still played for this part of the game. It was the only time I actually got to hear Guybrush's voice until many years later. To this day, I wonder why the music and voices weren't removed from this part. Were they stored elsewhere?
That being said, the music and voices were corrupted at the last dialog screen, giving nothing but ear-piercing static.

Old arcade games couldn't do the pseudo-randomness that modern games commonly use, so they had to come up with special coding tricks to give the illusion of randomness. As such, even games like Bubble Bobble have no randomness in it, as everything (even when certain items appear) are determined by other factors. To be honest, I think this improves those old games, as it makes them more skill based. But the point is that it was a result of the limitations at the time. (This is all to my knowledge though. I'd love to hear someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

So in short, yes, it should definitely be possible. Because we're talking about an old arcade game vs a rather complex and modern game making utility.

At first I was wondering why you two were posting pictures of empty rooms, thinking maybe there was some sort of running joke that I wasn't getting.
...
Then I noticed it and quite literally burst out laughing.  (laugh)

I've never watched Katla, but I have encountered a few movies and TV shows that have had the same annoying thing. But I can't name any of them from the top of my head, so they couldn't have been that memorable.
From the sounds of things though, that Katla sounds like it takes things to an entirely different level. I felt myself getting frustrated from your description alone!  8-0

The one reason that I am still resisting to use smartphones, even in 2021

till cannot get used to modern phones with touch screens. Everytime I launch Android I forget how do I "swipe" into the main menu and turn on camera instead.
Don't know, maybe it's just me, but I feel these interfaces are just badly designed.

I still do not own a smartphone and maybe I never will, as long as they still sell regular/old cellphones.

Holy crap! And here I thought that I was the only one.  :-D
I mean, I do have a smartphone now (someone gave it to me, since they were getting a new one). But the only "smart" features I use on it, is the ability to read comics I download onto it, and being able to browse the internet whenever I'm connected to Wi-Fi (I use pay-as-you-go because screw contracts). Other than it being much easier to type on once you get used to it, it's not really the "necessity" everyone seems to make it out to be.

But it feels so good to know that I'm not the only one resistant to change.  :-D

I'm confused as to what advertisements have to do with smartphones? I don't get ads on my smartphone?
Probably the apps. You can find countless free programs on a PC. But on a smartphone, if it's free (even if the PC version is 100% free), it's gonna have ads (it's a little weird actually). And blocking ads on your internet browser isn't as straightforward as it is on a PC either.
At least, that's my guess. Unless there are phones out there that have pop-up ads built into the OS like Windows 10.

I disagree of course, because that would make changing the calendar on your fridge, a game. But that doesn't matter, since I've already agreed with you about there being multiple definitions. and yours being completely valid in this case.

Dude, you can gamify anything.

So every morning my alarm goes off at 8:05.  It takes me a bit to get out of bed and make my way downstairs.  But if I can tear off yesterday's calendar date by 8:15 every morning, I win for the day.

I just scored a point for myself in my own little game of life by coming up with this reply.

Yeah, I know. Snarky corrected me on it.  (nod)

This is the first time I've come across this thread at a time when I can legitimately post something to it.
Right now, I've been listening to the soundtrack for Princess Maker 2.

I recently started playing the first game in the series, the terrible translation of the old MSX version to be specific. (Speaking of which, the third disk is corrupted.)
The game is surprisingly fun. And even more surprisingly messed up (the game should be renamed to "deadbeat dad simulator").
With my newfound interest, I looked up the game to learn some more, I then found out about the attempt to officially release a translation of the sequel for MS-DOS (decades years before the steam release), and that eventually led to me listening to the soundtrack. The comments on this particular video, learnt me quite a bit about the game's soundtrack.

They told us that Windows 10 would be the last edition to be released; after that, it would simply be updated and upgraded forever and ever.

I found that claim hard to believe at that time, and ... well, I suppose ...

Now, I might be wrong _this_ time, but what I foresee is that this so-called "Windows 11" will still be 90 % to 95 % "Windows 10" under the hood, only with some fresh visual sugar sprinkled on top. But this time, with mandatory Microsoft accounts so that they can de-anonymize and track their users the better, and sooner or later with mandatory ads right on the screen real estate.
I was just about to say the exact same thing. I guess only time will tell though.
But hey, who knows, maybe Windows 11 will be the new Windows 7, and just be solid improvements all around.  :-D
(I seriously doubt it, but we can always hope.)

I find it hard to laugh at any of that knowing that Alec Minassian is a real mass murderer who's killed real people, and I find it in poor taste posting this as some funny anecdote on par with cartoon memes.

It's not a funny video either, it's not some comedy sketch, from what I've seen of it, it's a serious documentary/analysis on murderous incels, and their too real fantasies of murdering women, minorities, and LGBTQ people,
and I can't believe I'm the only one to get a knot in my stomach when seeing that presented as just some silly goof we're meant to laugh at.
This might be a bit presumptuous but I think the only reason you're the only one to get a knot in your stomach over it so far, is because no one else knows who he is, and didn't bother to click on the video.  :-\

Sorry for the double post, but I found out the name of the snes game that I was talking about.
It's Otogiriso.
I'd recommend it, even if you can't read Japanese.
