I just use my adblocker to block those elements, so I can click past them.
It surprisingly works about 75% of the time.
For me, those numbers are the opposite, and that's not even counting all the sites that don't let you use adblockers.
I've actually managed to use adblocker to block the elements that stop me using the sites that don't let me use adblockers.  :-D
Although that is quite rare. And usually you have to block the same element on every single page.
Usually I just do what Cassiebsg does. And not use it unless I really trust the site, or need to use it.

All I did was put on a Jason hockey mask, and somehow ended up accidentally scaring a bunch of kids while taking my little brother trick-or-treating.
I even got given some candy.  ???
Which was nice.  :-D

to defeat an evil supervillain literally named "Dr Doom"
Ah Dr Doom. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the comics (at least from what I gleaned from the ones I read) he became the dictator of Latveria, and turned a third world country into a prosperous first world country, and is beloved by his people.
Dr Doom also helped save the remaining population in the Marvel Zombie universe, while Mr Fantastic purposefully infected the rest of his team.
He also got horribly disfigured when a lab experiment blew up in his face. Mr Fantastic tried to warn him that his formula was off and that it would happen, but apparently due to his hubris, Dr Doom didn't believe him and as such now believes that Mr Fantastic tampered with the lab experiment somehow. Something tells me Dr Doom is right, and Mr Fantastic did tamper with it.

Dr Doom is the perfect example of a good guy that became a villain because he was villainized. And I think it would be brilliant if they made a film about that. Especially since his last name is literally "Doom".

Wow, your pixel art approach to the blue cup from Github is just plain amazing.

Agreed, I really like that cup! I'm one of those who don't like the current AGS icon  ;)

I vote for any of these new pixel cups! Time for a change :)

Same here. But I think that goes without saying for me.  :-D

AGS Games in Production / Re: Sleuth
Wed 23/10/2019 16:29:41
Is this based on the text-adventure game called "Sleuth" that has randomized elements?
Or is this based on a completely different game called "Sleuth"?

Amiga game...  ;)
Unlikely. There's 31 colours in the image. While I think the Amiga could support up to 32 colours on screen at once, most games had 16 due to being Atari ST ports. (Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of that.)
The art also looks like modern pixel art to me. Which suggest a modern Indie Game.
(This is all assuming you don't know the answer. If you do and was giving a hint... why?)

Is it one of those 2d pixel art indie Dark Soul clones?

I'm not sure i would consider this "pixelart".
I agree.
In my opinion, for something to be considered "pixelart" you need to be aware of the position of at least 90% of all of the pixels in the piece. This means the use of tools for antialiasing, as well as copying and pasting to create repeating patterns, all actively work against something being "pixelart".
Also there's a 3D model in the center. So um...

It looks nice. But I wouldn't call it pixelart.
Now as for the overall quality, not taking into account that it's not pixelart.  I don't like the thin partial black outline on the text in the upper left corner. It looks like the text was badly photoshopped from another image.
The 3D model in the center doesn't match in with the rest of the image.
The tree on the left has nice clean lines, while the tree on the right has nice anti-aliased lines. Choose one and stick with it.
The cliff in the upper right corner lacks depth. It kind of looks like you just photoshopped a texture you found on the internet, onto it.
That all being said, it does look nice. And is probably better than anything I could make. But there's a lot of room for improvement.  (nod)

Seriously, why cant modern AAA devs just make a well-paced game that prioritizes fun and unique gameplay instead of this ubiquitous mess of aimless open-world grinding?
It's gotten so bad some games are even offering boost packages as dlc just so players can skip the grind, which defeats the entire purpose of games for entertainment.
That right there, is exactly WHY they now make all of their games aimless open-world grindfests.
They're no longer in the business of making games. They're in the business of selling you time-savers, so you don't have to play their terrible games. (Which begs the question as to why people are still buying their games. I have a few theories, but nothing I can say with certainty.)
I could go into a really long rant about the corruption of RPG mechanics to sell cheat codes, and how Assassin's Creed new leveling system is an offense to both the Assassin's Creed franchise and RPG mechanics as a whole.
But I don't want to write that much.  (laugh)

What grinds my gears is the AGS Translation system...

It can go fuck itself.
As someone who has never really used the AGS Translation system, could you please tell me why it's so terrible.
It always looked "good enough" to me.

Maybe we could use it for the next editor update too.
I recall some people did not like the "Windows 10" splash & icon style we are using since 3.4.0, and suggested to have something more pixelarty.
As one of those people who doesn't like the ultra-minimalist logos that are currently in fashion (I can't wait for it to swing back around to having too much detail), I'm all for having that pixelarty logo in the next update.  :-D
But I'm bias so...  :-\

DRM grinds my gears, and today is the International Day Against DRM.
DRM is exactly why I prefer to play my big budget games on a console.
The only DRM you have to deal with on those, if having to insert the disc every time you want to play the game. Which is something I grew up with, and don't mind as a result.

I'll always be a PC gamer at heart. But because of DRM alone, I'll always play so called "AAA" games on a console. And if you need me to prove it, just look up Assassin's Creed Origins. (Not that I'd play such a terrible game anyway.)

Urgh, I hate reality TV, and the worst part of all is that for probably 90% of the run time they aren't even showing the cooking/dancing/car remodeling or whatever the audience is actually there to see, it's just the worst kind of filler with the hosts nattering endlessly about random nonsense or spending several minutes in a row asking the participants again and again weather they feel pumped doing whatever they came to do on tv, which is just plain stupid considering they probably wouldn't beg to be doing it on TV if they weren't.  (wrong)
Actually, I find that 90% of the content to be nothing but recaps.
Here's an example of how they usually go in my opinion:
"This person turns poop into food! Let's see what they can find today."
"Ooh, poop, I'm going to turn this into food."
*adverts*
"To recap, this person turns poop into food! He then found poop!"
"Ooh, poop. I'm going to turn this into food."
"Let's see what he does with it."
"I'm going to put it in a blender."
*adverts*
(Then of course you recap everything AGAIN. Rinse and repeat until you have an entire episode.)

Here in Japan probably about 50% of TV is unscripted "Reality TV" and always has been
Only 50% of TV content is Reality TV!  :-D
That sounds awesome!
It's about 85% here in England.

What grinds my gears to dust is television.
It's even more gear grinding in Britain if you ask me.
Damn TV license!
And what's worse, even if you don't pay for one, because hey, there's nothing on TV worth watching anyway. They hound you like there's no tomorrow!  8-0

That saying always reminds me of this:
[imgzoom]https://assets.amuniversal.com/7dc111f056e0013015f6001dd8b71c47[/imgzoom]

Also, my local fish and chips shop almost always gives me extra. The chip portions are huge, and on more than one occasion they've given me extra fish scallops (a bit of fish sandwiched between two potatoes, battered and deep fried. Absolutely brilliant!) with the excuse that "They're smaller than usual, so I'll give you an extra one."
Personally, I think it's because I'm so thin, everyone I meet just wants to put meat on my bones.  (laugh)

Not official until someone makes a crossover at least.  ;)

Looking at it, it looks like a website you pay money to snipe for you.
And considering there's another website named EZ sniper that looks the exactly same, something tells me it's as shady as it looks.
I was hoping for something more along the lines of a program that you run on your computer while you wait.

Looks like I'll be sticking to the buy now only options as well.  (nod)

Thanks for that Retro Wolf. I took your advice, and I think the game is a lot better as a result.
