which above certain levels causes autism and psychiatric disorders
Psychiatric disorders, maybe. Heck, probably. I don't know much about that part, but it sounds plausible.
But autism. Seriously!
Do you even know what autism is! That's like saying it'll make you left handed, or gay, or black, or dyslexic!
You can't become autistic after birth.  (wrong)

Is undoubtedly critical though. We certainly don't need another wave of 'vaccines cause autism' scares to bring back yet more deaths by preventable diseases.
Ah, now THAT sounds reasonable.
Basically, it's like pointing out that water is poisonous if drank in high enough quantities.   (laugh)

Now the thing that grinds my gears, is that hardcore Pokemon fans, never seem to realise that canonically in the games, Pokemon don't say their name.
I don't mind that the casual Pokemon fans don't know that, but the hardcore fans definitely should!
The only Pokemon that says its name outside of the anime is Pikachu, the rest make animal noises. For proof, just read the manga, play the games, or watch Pokemon Origins.

Flying blue's contact form grinds my gears!  >:(
I've been a member for a long time, never used the damn miles for anything yet, since I just don't fly that much. But even if I wanted to use my miles I couldn't! They added password to log on to the site... I always logged on with pin, so I didn't had a password. Last time I tried to logged on with pin cause I didn't had a password, I did... only to be meet with a second login "now please enter your password"...  8-0  ???  >:( So... I want to email them and get them to send me my password to my email, cause apparently I can't do that either on my own even though they have no problem in sending me "spam" mails, that they can do... So there I click "email flying blue" and what do I get? A login asking me for username and password! :O  >:( Only way to contact them? Seems to be by phone and I hate phone!  >:(
What... the..  8-0
I think "grinds my gears" is a bit of an understatement!

Ahhh, but what about 3D Lemmings?  That was the... 6th?  7th?  Lemmings game, but it still got the '3D' attached to the title.
But they called it "3D Lemmings" not "Lemmings 3D".
So that one is still ok in my book.  :-D

Whose turn is it anyway?

Reading these past few posts, has just made me realise that those ridiculous "slippery slope" arguments that close-minded bigots kept spouting out, were actually true.

It's interesting that everyone jumped on the 3D bandwagon, even when it was clearly inferior at the time. No one seems to have kept making 2D games and pushing that boundary. It's only in the last few years that pixels have become saleable again.
But you've got to admit, a lot of games were approaching their third installment at that time, and calling your game TITLE 3D was just an opportunity you couldn't pass up.
Earthworm Jim 3D
Simon the Sorcerer 3D
Duke Nukem 3D
All third installments, all appended with 3D.

When movies went through their latest 3D phase, they just stated shoving 3D at the end of every movie, with no regard for whether it was the third movie or not. Which really annoyed me.  >:(

THE FLAT-EARTH MOVEMENT!!!
Fun fact, that whole thing started as a joke. I remember convincing one of my sister's friends into believing that I believed the world was flat, a good ten years or so before this whole flat-earther thing took off.
The joke was originally meant to be there as a way to poke fun of religion, and how absurd that it is to believe in that, and how easy it is to make an argument for anything. It was the original version of the flying spaghetti monster in a way. But unfortunately very few people understood the joke, and you ended up with everyone believing that these people claiming the world was flat, actually believed the world was flat. Then you got people who decided to join in on the craze, since they thought that if other people thought the world was flat, then they should also believe the world is flat.

It's a shame really.  :~(

Still, if you ever encounter a flat-earther, don't try to convince them that the world is round. They know (unless they're mentally handicapped). Instead try to convince them that the world is double sided, and that there's a massive conspiracy to cover it up.  (laugh)

That is beautiful!

I think I know about the tool you're talking about, the one that's part of SCI companion. But this looks like it'll be so much better!

I wish I could help with improving it, but I honestly wouldn't even know where to begin.
Good luck though.

I know I probably won't make it in time as I'll be very busy the next two weeks, but just to be sure, it's okay to use resources downloaded from here, right?
Of course. All publicly available assets can be used.  (nod)

Summary:
Private Detective is a procedurally generated murder mystery game, where you must solve randomly generated crimes by finding leads, questioning suspects, and gathering evidence from the crime scene to compare with samples found in the homes of the suspects. It plays a lot like an adventure game, but with a lot more deduction and a lot less inventory object puzzles.

Well, good luck with your future endeavours Peder. And thanks so very much for what you've done for the AGS community up to this point.
A decade for the AGS Archives alone, is quite a feat.

I hope to see you on the forums again one day. But if that doesn't happen. Goodbye!  :-D

I'm glad my chosen topic has sparked up so much discussion and ideas.
For a while there, I was worried that my topic was a bit too open-ended.

I haven't checked on this thread for a while, but when I do, I see you're in a legal battle.

I'd ask what's going on, but I think I already do, since I remember the Star Trek debacle. I just can't believe it's escalated this much.
Good luck AnasAbdin. I can't imagine how horrible this must be making you feel, but I know you can win.  :-D

As someone who helped with the game, I'm quite pleased with how I'm credited.
I'm in the 'see people who made this' section, and my name is in the game, so I'm happy.
As far as I'm concerned, Nr. 2698 deserves to be the only one in the "game author" field, because it was mostly his game. He organized everything, he came up with the premise, he chose what ideas did and didn't make it into the game.
If I was in his position, I would've done things exactly the same. (Well, I probably would've mentioned everyone who worked on the game on the Itch.io page, but that's besides the point.)

But that's just my thoughts on the matter. Babar might think differently.

So, it's just 2 of any famous characters: Bugs bunny meets Frankenstein,   Barney Rubble meets Dr Jekyll,  Sherlock Holmes meets Agather Christie.....

Is this correct?
If doesn't just have to be famous characters.
You could have your "The Rat Pack" crossover with Cat's "Cornelius Cat", assuming you got her permission.
You could even have more than two if you wanted do be a bit more ambitious. Or even crossover the settings instead of the characters (assuming the settings are recognizable enough).

I think TheFrighther's joke perfectly sums up the general idea.  :-D

Goodbye 2018. You were a pretty decent year.
And for everyone who disagrees, look towards 2016. Now THAT was a horrible year.  >:(

What do you get when you cross a snowman with a crocodile? Frostbite!
That was actually my Christmas cracker joke this year.
I said that it appeared in every pack of Christmas crackers.  (laugh)

Personally, with how bad Christmas cracker jokes are, I kind of wish they'd go all the way and make them anti-jokes. It would actually make them funnier in my opinion, because you wouldn't expect it.
What do you get when you cross a snowman with a crocodile? A snow crocodile!
How do you stop a skunk from smelling? Spray it with perfume!

I think I encounter that one every year. Or at least a similar variant. Sometimes it's a vampire.

Christmas crackers are mostly just very bad puns, atleast in my experience. Here's an example:

What does Santa suffer from if he gets stuck in a chimney? Claustrophobia!

That is an awesome joke!
It really is.  (laugh) I've never heard that one before.

Thank you!  :-D

Having won this contest at this time, almost feels like a Christmas present. Especially since this is the first contest I've won first place on in the AGS forums.
Thanks everyone who voted for Black Friday.  :-D
