What?!?!

Ash not played by Bruce Campbell? NO!

The movie won't be the same without him, so I think I'll give this movie a miss.

I loved the Evil Dead series, especially Army of Darkness. A 4th movie could be great. I just hope they use Ash and stay true to his character.

Well you can try http://www.rpgdx.net, a site I also advertise in the Arcana E-zine. It is the center of Indie RPG Gaming, and there's not a single RPG Maker 2000 game in sight.

It's a very good site, and definitely worth a look.

Ok, this one didn't come out so good, but I'd love to see THIS movie:

I'm from Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, though I'm currently living with my Girlfriend in Benoni, just outside of Johannesburg.

Really great work!

The style reminds me so much of Day of the Tentacle, and in my books, anybody that can successfully emulate that style is a true artist.

Well done!

If you are a fan of the Elder Scrolls (Morrowind), you might be happy to know that the first chapter of the Elder Scrolls series, The Arena, is now freeware.

You can download it at: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/downloads_games.htm

Now if only they release Daggerfall as freeware...

Thanks Dave.

As I said, I really enjoyed ToaK. It's a great game.

Hehehe

I had a good laugh myself when I read that article the first time.

Myst Dragon is a hard-core Adventure and RPG gamer with a wicked sense of humour and a keen eye for what makes games "Good" and "Not-so-good".

I'm glad you people are enjoying the ezine ;D

Thanks BerserkerTails.  I'm glad you liked it  ;D

What can I say? I really enjoyed ToaK. It's a great game.

Also, I specifically created The Arcana as a sort of "Bridge" for advertising indie games to various other genres of indie gaming, so that if an RPG fan feels in the mood for a good freeware point and click adventure or a platformer fan wants to try their hand at an RPG, the Arcana should be a bit of a step in the right direction.

   Hey all.

Just thought I'd let you know that The Arcana's 2nd issue has been released, with reviews of two AGS games namely Escape from Evergreen Forest and Two of a Kind.

You can download it at: http://www.freehostz.com/darctyde/arcana.htm

Well, just to give you an example of what happened at this forum, here's what I posted and the replies I got.  I have refrained from adding the forum name and engine name, because I don't feel like stooping to their level.

[Darcness] Wow! Looks impressive. I've noticed that there is no technical area on the pages or anything similar to it which shows the features of the new release. I'd just like to know where I can take a look at the full feature list of [engine name], as I am quite impressed with it.

[Gromm] Whahahahahahahahaha

[Erik_the_Unready] Take a look at the number of posts this guy has.

[Gromm] Darcness? What, are you trying to scare people with your nick. Pathetic. Look, he's an anime fan. Oh! And a goth! LOL Loser.

[Seamus] Darcness, it's a bit hidden (don't know why) but the feature list is available at [LINK]. And Gromm, I'm sorry to say this but I don't think that's the correct attitude a moderator should have towards a new forum member.

[Erik_the_Unready] what are you afraid the goth might get depresed and slit his own wrists?

[Gromm] Seamus. I'm only go8ing to warn you once. Shut up! If you reach 60 posts you'll have a chance to bitch aboot my moderating, but before that, STFU. NooB.

Well, there's the example...

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Thanks a million theyak.
I'm going there right now!

[EDIT] Arg! They don't ship to South Africa!

I only found one copy of Stagefright on E-bay, and the dealer refused to accept payment other than through PayPal.

 Hey all.

Today I signed up with another gaming forum. Almost immediately after my first post the flaming started. I got treated like a bloody kid who didn't belong there.

This is not the first time this has happened either. Various other forums I have joined over the years seem to have the mentality that all newbies are either idiots or little kids who have no clue what they're talking about.

I'm 27. I've been a forum junkie for almost 5 years now.

The worst is that most of the time I get treated like an idiot by people very much younger than me.

Luckily there are great forums where newbies are treated like people, like here in the AGS Forums and over at the AD forums.

Sorry for ranting, I just needed to get this off my chest.

Has anybody else ever experienced this?

Well, sadly I haven't come across any program specifically made for ripping graphics from the later Sierra SCI games.

You can take a look at http://www.bripro.com/scistudio/ and get SCI Studio, which can rip graphics from the earlier EGA SCI games.

I must just mention that PCGen is a program for creating character sheets for pencil and paper RPGs like dungeons and dragons. I use it myself.

This is NOT a generator for graphics, so I doubt it would be useful for anything but creating your character's personal background.

The Stagefright package has both games and some bonus material in it.

Very nice indeed!
My only critique is that some of the note slides just don't sound right, making the song sound slightly off-key.
Other than that, great job.
