I would rather it be Australia (as I've always wanted to go) but if it is Australia the chances of my attending are slim!

As for a location in the Western region of the USA I'd recommend something less "touristy" than L.A. or San Francisco.  I suppose it depends on what people want to do.  I'd rather spend a week in some mountain chateau in the Rockies (like the chateau in France) and do some hiking and live in the country.  If we went in-land a bit (like say the Denver area (Colorado) or Salt Lake City (Utah)) possible day trips could include; the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Mount Rushmore, Pike's Peak (amazing views from the top and the drive up is an experience in and of itself!) and quite a few others (Colorado Springs is an amazing town to visit as well).

This are just my thoughts (never been a fan of big cities).  I really want to attend this year... I hate having missed the last two!

I can't really offer advice on moving to the States... but I will say that if you had to pick a spot to move to that's a great one!  It's beautiful there!  The winters are harsh, but I'm sure harsh winters aren't new to you coming from Edinburgh!

I've always wanted to live there (or anywhere in Colorado really).

I have no idea what that means and the first post is still not updated with English.

Adblock will remove the ads around the videos (on the HTML part of the page) but it won't stop the overlays on the videos (or the commercials before the videos).

I can ignore the ads on the page... but there's nothing you can do (AFAIK) about the ones covering your videos.

I've grown VERY sick of youTube lately... you go to their site and there are ads everywhere, then you attempt to start your video and guess what?  Commercials. 

Now all video providers are doing this (following suit).  I just close the browser whenever a commercial starts.  I was able to tolerate it when it was just that little google popup over the bottom of the video that you could easily close but now they force commercials on you that you can't skip.  It's nothing but annoying.

My point?  Their new design doesn't matter to me
