I think if he'd titled the article, How to Hire an Artist [on the cheap] it probably wouldn't have caused such a ruckus. Then again, this is the internet; if you declare that you like puppies you'll get flamed for it by somebody.  People love to bitch, gripe, and claim superiority over others.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with what he said/wrote.  He was just sharing his ideas (that he has found success with before (so he claims)).

I have never understood people's dislike of iFrames.  They are just fine to use and, in some cases, necessary.  If used properly you can't even tell they are being used.  Now-a-days I tend to use AJAX to load content into < divs > rather than iFrames but that's a little more complicated than using a simple iFrame.

InC - what I like to do is determine the minimum screen resolution I'm designing for and then design around that res.  These days I set the lowest to 1024x768.  I make sure it fits on that resolution.

Another thing you could do is, using javascript, have a function call in the body tag onload (and onresize) that will set the height of your content.  It's not too complicated really and you should be able to do it!  You can find many examples on how to do it by searching google, I found this one on the first try

It was called M.A.S.K here in the states 'cause it was an acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand which I'm sure doesn't translate into German the same way!  It was probably called something else there which would explain why you don't remember it!

I tried wikipedia to find what it was referred to in Germany but couldn't seem to locate the information

Does the game have a menu screen?  Maybe a GUI?  A player character?  Since it's only a one-room game you really should post a bit more (especially since it's not the actual room that will be in the game).

I don't usually comment on games in here but I can't not ... this looks freakin' great guys!  Seriously.

I'm assuming the final character won't just be a reversed image for the left/right views?  It's just a nit-picky thing for me but I'd hate to see such graphical beauty tarnished by such a thing.  Granted I'm probably the only person picky (anal) enough to even notice it.

The story sounds intriguing, the visuals are great, the "feel" is polished ... I'm looking forward to this one.

A menu screen does not count as one of the two required screenshots.  Please update the post with another "in game" screenshot (non menu screen).

I have removed all the off-topic posts!  The Hero / KQIX-Team ... please take the "is this for real?" posts into PMs and settle this there!

I understand this is a hot-topic that sparks some emotion but we need to stay on target in this thread.  There really is no way to "prove" one way or t'other (short of going to KQIX-Team's house and seeing it on the computer there) so we just need to accept it.  The thread doesn't break any rules (even if a tad mean-spirited) so it's "legal".

Let's all light a fire, sing some songs, and get along now...

If you aren't far enough into development to have more than one screenshot to show you should have waited before posting.

Just being sorry for not having a lot to show isn't an acceptable excuse for not following the rules.

Please update the first post with another screenshot (how about what happens when you reel a fish in?)  If there is only one screen for the whole game how about a menu screen?  Or some sprites of the fisherman or the fish, or maybe some animations.

If you can't provide that the thread will need to be locked until you're far enough along in the development to warrant a GiP thread.

The clock is ticking...
