Please post at least one more "in game" screenshot (top and bottom appear to be menu screens).

Also, please update the post with more information about the game (plot/story, features, etc)

K thanks!

While I would like to thank you for not opening a Games in Production thread for this, it still doesn't belong in a thread in this board either!  ;)

There is a Recruit a Team thread specifically for this type of post!

Congrats on finishing!

I agree with Andail as well.  If improvement is what you want, you must be willing to sacrifice hours (if not days, if not years) of your life in pursuit of that improvement!

However, having said all that, and as lovely as the edits have been; I actually prefer the old-school (first) version you made.  It reminded me of the old Wing Commander/Privateer/Strike Commander days of Origin.  I didn't love the colors, but the style!

Granted, as was also said, this is a title screen and doesn't need to reflect the style of the game.  Maybe use the face you made for the first version as the in-game portraits?  That'd really be Wing Commander-ish!!

I guess I'd have to be the referee :)

The concept of this is intriguing.  I look forward to seeing it progress!

Okay ... let's stay on target here people!
#1628
Yup, but that has bad results in cases like this because some posts have on-topic comments and off-topic (critics) so removing some, and not others (leaving some critics in for image(s) that no longer exist in the thread), leads to confusion which then leads to more off-topic posts asking about the confusion.  So the simple solution, stop critiquing in here and take it into the Critics Lounge where it belongs :)

now ... back on topic folks.

PS - anymore questions about this can be directed to me via PM to prevent further cluttering up this thread!  thanks :)
#1629
Okay, yeah ... please take the critics/paint-overs/etc into the Critics Lounge.  This has gotten a bit out of hand in here.

Please find alternate hosting and post the screenshots properly.

tick tock tick tock :)

I might be comin' from the UK too ... Nacho and I are discussing the pre-Mittens arrangements.  I flew into London before Mittens '08 but, due to my connecting flight mishaps in New York I was 12 hours late, hadn't slept in two days, and was only there for about 6 hours (which I used to sleep).  So I'd like to get that time back if possible to explore the city.

Tarah (my special lady-friend) will be with me.  If there isn't that available spot [for the girlfriends] she will go visit her sister (who lives in Italy) but she expressed interest in hanging out with a bunch of computer geeks for a week in the Italian country-side.  She loves geeks (obviously or I'd have never attracted her).

Please read the forum rules and update your post accordingly (you need two IN GAME screenshots, please read the rules carefully)
#1633
If it's allowed to bring girlfriends I wanna lay claim to one of the spots too!
#1634
Alright, back on topic now.

This thread is a mess...

DrSlash - please update your original post to include the in-game screenshots and why do the "other" screenshots say Space Quest II?
#1636
The backgrounds you have provided are not "in-game" screenshots (no characters, guis, cursors, etc).  Please update the original post to include at least two in-game shots!  I'll let it slide if you post some art/animations of a few characters and maybe an example of the GUI, etc. :)

** takes off moderator hat, puts on loom-fanboy hat **

Having said that those backgrounds are great and really capture the feel/mood of the original game (one of my favorite games of all time) and I'm really lookin' forward to seeing what you do with this.

Happy April Fools y'all

Please update the hosting for the images ... soon :)

Thanks for the update!!

Quote from: Snarky on Sat 27/03/2010 19:20:35On a somewhat related note, I'm really sick of the way American (and also some British) comedians find the German language -- or rather, their completely inaccurate impression of the German language -- endlessly amusing, and will take any excuse to start screaming in a poor impression of a B-movie SS officer. This is even more annoying since I have friend who does a dead-on and hilarious German accent: very soft-spoken and polite.

Aren't all Germans really Nazis?  I mean, seriously.  Hitler.

My favorite thing about the German language is how "manly" it can sound if you speak it with a deep voice.  Tool (the band) has a song called "die Eier von Satan" which translates to "the Eggs of Satan".  When you listen to the song (which is German) you get the impression it's violent and angry when it is, in reality, a recipe for how to make hash cookies ... AND NO EGGS!!  But the "tone" of the spoken language is very deep and forceful.

I am learning to speak Spanish now, but next I plan to learn German because I find the language fascinating personally, though not in the B-movie SS officer way :P

I think it's great that you're visiting the States!  You can then see that we're not all as bad as the rest of the world seems to think!

And you've picked a pretty decent area to road-trip!

You can get a good glimpse of true southern hospitality driving through the Virginias, Carolinas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida (depending on the route you choose).  I would strongly suggest a route that takes you through Savannah, Georgia.  I love that place (and actually hope to reside there some day in the future).  I've been all through-out the States (every state but Hawaii and Alaska) and the area you've chosen is probably the 2nd suggestion I'd make for a road-trip (CJ, AGA, Creed and Esseb did it last year in the week before Mittens and had quite the adventure).

Also, if you decide to come down to the Miami area there are a few of use AGSers down here :)

As for a 'net connection you should be quite able to achieve this.  There's a starbucks on every corner of every city (so it seems) and they offer free WiFi.  There's also Panera Bread, Barns & Noble (book stores) and many (many) other places that offer free WiFi.  Or just take a detour through an apartment complex parking lot and piggy-back off somebody's network (as sooooo many people seem too stupid to lock their networks!!)

What dates are you planning on being here?
