Haha you guys are crackin' me up!

First, BIG thanks to lemmy!  I really appreciate it!

Second, IF I get the invite (and have invites to share) we'll figure something out to make sure everybody can get in there!

Well shoot ... somebody beat me to the punch!  I've been planning an AGS Clue! game for a long time (even have some sprites and a background or two).  Still, glad to see somebody else had the same idea.

Good luck with the game.

It was three years until gmail became technically public ... but it had millions of users before that because everybody that got an invite, had invites to share.  It was just a clever marketing ploy by Google (who are masters 1st class at marketing).  By making it "invite" only it makes people feel like it's a big deal to get an invite and thus they are "elite" and we weak-minded humans just love feeling like we're more important than others!!

I am very excited for Google Wave (Firefly references aside).  It feels like the next [r]evolution in digital communication.  If the only thing Wave did was cut down spam by 1% that would be enough for me to use it.

Sadly ... I must be the bad-guy here!  This doesn't meet the requirements and must be locked!

Snake, once you have the second screen-shot go ahead and update and unlock!

I sent countless emails from my gmail account using the words Google Wave over and over and over in the vain hopes I'd get an invite ... alas, it wasn't meant to be!  I, too, am very anxious to try this out.

There was a Google Wave thread a few months ago about the subject (if you missed it back then).

Has anybody on the forums here received an invite?

I didn't read the entire thread (so forgive if I'm repeating somebody) but I think you should go back to your other thread and get the sprite right before spending all this time on the animation!  You've got a great start to the guy and I'd hate to see you waste time animating until you get him a bit more ... perfected :)

- The shoulders are REALLY off/out of whack.  It looks like he's got balloons (or something) under his coat on his shoulders (I'm guessing this isn't intentional?)
- also, I feel (just my preference) that the legs are too far apart

I had a problem with MSN not loading (it would load, but wouldn't "connect") a few weeks ago!  The only solution I could find was to update my Trillian client.  It (MSN) has worked fine since but I'm still not wild about the version of Trillian I'm forced to use.  I know that's completely useless information to you ... but thought I'd share my pain with yours!

Sad news (even though we knew it was inevitable) :(

So long Mr. Swayze ...

Glad you like it!  Feel free to use as much as you want :)

Here is the Development PSD (remember I said it was sloppy and quick!)

My personal preference for web design(s) is to not have so many different colors all at once (like the different colors on the nav buttons).  This is just personal preference of course.

I like what junc did (great to see you again man by the way!) but the navigation is WAY down on the page.  Again it's just personal preference of mine but I like the navigation to be closer to the top of the screen.

I did a sloppy/quick mockup with my take on the design...

- I widened the over-all design (I'm not sure if you're restricted to a smaller scale but I no longer design for 800x600 resolutions).
- I lowered the number of different colors to created a more unified palette.
- I used Google Translate so the text is probably horrible!

Anyway ... it was just an idea.  I hope it helps in some way :)

Ahhh good catch Khris!  Thanks ... I knew it seemed familiar!

sgreco - I am locking this thread, please update the thread linked to by Khris (and make sure to keep the two screenshots!)

Greetings sgreco!

Please review the forum rules and update your post accordingly (two IN-GAME screen shots please)!

Quote from: Khris on Fri 11/09/2009 23:20:20Better add that second in-game screenshot before Darth discovers this... ;)

Haha I discovered it already but ...

Quote from: Sparkplug.Creations on Thu 10/09/2009 21:58:33This is a ONE screen game where the player attacks a strange alien like object with their Predator Hellfire missile but then it disappears.

So I'm lettin' it slide since there is another shot (albeit not "in-game") ... but I wouldn't mind (and I think others wouldn't either) perhaps another shot of the same screen.  Or maybe some samples of animation(s) :)

Interesting idea for a game.  It's like Asteroids meets 2010.

I think I'm in the minority here ... but I [still] find the flag/blue/stars behind the sliders quite distracting!

I am also not a fan of the game's title sitting above the badge like that ... it feels pushed in there!  I liked how, in Version B above, you had the flag behind the badge with no title.  That looked really sharp.  If you could get that flag (behind the badge) waving that would totally rock!
#1818
I like version B.

It's less "busy" and easier to read/visualize (for me).

I'd recommend getting rid of the blue/stars behind the sliders though (it's a bit distracting) and just stick with the metallic vibe in the background.   It's crisp and clean and appealing!

This project has a very nice feel to it.  Keep up the good work!

Just a helpful hint...

You are = you're ... not your.  This is a hugE pet-peeve of mine (and many others).  Just thought I'd give you a heads up in case you're using it that way in the game!

Game looks interesting!  Good luck with it!

Yeah ... sad that spammers have ruined email for us.  I have added a note to the signup screen letting people know to check their spam/junk folders just in case!
