Messages - Darth Mandarb

I am watching ... so that in a few years when the U.S and China go to war over the last remnants of oil (oh the ignorance of it all) I can look back and compare it to the athletes give the fuher a salute in the '36 Berlin olympics.

Now russia attacks georgia (after the U.S. troops were there a month ago training the georgian army) and now the U.S. 10th mountain division is on transports to germany ... hmmm

Excellent news Dusk!!!

You should keep the old screenshots up (as links) so people can see the progression the game has made!

Keep up the good work!

** Darth un-packs all his sex-toys ... **

It's okay ... I always get strange looks from airport security when I try to take them with me anyhow!

I have booked my room at the Hotel Armstrong (for the 22nd)!

I think it was 91 USD (59 EURO) for the night which, as Ms Finkenstein commented isn't too bad considering its location/proximity.  I got a single room (with a single bed) not knowing who else is going to be there ... so should anybody want to use some of my floorspace (thus saving you some money) feel free to let me know (as long as you don't snore!)

Seconded.

Also .... I would think my girlfriend (if I had one) would be the coolest chick EVER if she made an erotic game for me.

General Discussion / Re: Star Trek

I saw that documentary ("Trekkies")

My first knee-jerk reaction was "wow ... these people have issues"

But then, after some thought on the matter, I came to the conclusion that these people are just choosing a life style.  That's all.  They related/admire the star trek life (as portrayed in the shows/films) and choose to emulate it.  Sure it's a little weird if they don Klingon makeup and what-not but really, who cares?  It doesn't hurt anything/anyone.

It's (basically) no different than large groups of people who dedicate themselves to a life-style laid out in a few books that are over 2000 years old.

And, as far as I'm aware, there's never been a documented case of a trekkie hi-jacking a plane, or a large group of trekkies crusading into a foreign land to spread the "light" of Roddenberry.

I think you posted in here by mistake?

Anyway ...

There are several factors that can contribute to this;

1) Are you using Bitmaps for your graphics
2) Are you using higher quality sound files
3) Are you zipping the file

Image quality isn't noticeably different between a png and bmp but the file size is vastly different.  Since you reference "image Quality" in your message I'm guessing this is your problem.

I was really anticipating Stencyl ... for the first 500 years of waiting for it.

But now I'm so sick of waiting for it I've developed a dislike for it and the over-all, "we'll release it when we want to" attitude over there.

It's been "teasing" for FAR too long.  If they aren't ready they shouldn't have announced it so long ago.  Just my 2 cents.

Aside from that I only really use AGS I don't mind saying.

Count me in!

This is that guy in the red suit that lets you sit on his lap and tell him what you want for Festivus right?

This should be moved to the Popular Threads board.

It's far too important of a topic, and such an ambitious project with so much potential, to just be saddled in the GenGen.

If the game is released ... post in the Completed Games board!

Thanks and congrats on finishing a game!

When you have the new screens the thread can be unlocked.

Nacho, mi amigo!!

I'm coming to Benidorm sometime this year (after Mittens of course)!!  As long as we can take that road-trip up to Barcelona!

Also ... yes indeed Nacho is amazing friend!  He is one of the few AGSers I've actually met, we chat on MSN all the time, and he is teaching me to speak Spanish as well (and tolerating VERY well my inability to conjugate freakin' verbs!!!)

Now he just needs to get his ass in gear and make a damn game!!!

Quote from: nachoWe had to sit in the suitcase, as usual

Ah yes ... and where there and flurry chapels in the suitcase with you my friend ;)

This topic has been done to death ... but I'll answer just the same as I always do.

It's not the program, it's the artist.

I use photoshop but I've seen people do work in M$Paint that blows my photoshop work out of the water!

So what is the "best"?  I don't think that's a valid question ... perhaps "what is the best paint program for me" would be a better query.

And it's something only you can answer by trying a few programs and finding the one that suits you best.

Happy hunting!

Quote from: OneDollar on Sun 20/07/2008 16:04:57I really need to finish Firefly at some point.

YES!!  You definitely do!  It's my favorite show of all time.  I'm actually working on a Firefly fansite ... but it's nothing to do with Dr. Horrible so when I finish it I'll make a topic for it on its own :)

I thought Moist was sooo Joss' style ... throw in something that serves no necessary point, just adds richness and fullness to the plot.  Sure he's a got a PHD in horribleness ... but he's also got friends and life outside of being horrible!  I thought it was hilarious!

Such greatness and brilliance ... and yet Firefly was canceled.  Short-sighted, money-grubbing, capitalist pigs over at fox!

Anyway ... this is/was great as well!  Joss is so brilliant and totally underrated in his time.  I still listen to my mp3s of the Buffy Musical (from all those years ago) and have been known to spontaneously break into the theme song from Firefly or the Ballad of Jayne.

ummmmm ... what?

I still have no idea where I'm staying the "Paris" nights ... to be honest I was kind of hoping I'd meet Julie Delpy and we could wander around exchanging witty banter all night (thus no need for a hotel).

Alas I find the odds of that fleeting... soooooo I [too] am looking for a place to crash!  So let's all figure something out!  Anybody familiar with the Paris hotel scene who could recommend something to us foreign travelers?
