Is the game played at 150 x 113 resolution?  If not, some real size screenshots that can actually be seen would probably be nice. :)

However ... speaking of screenshots.  When you have two (another one) ready I'll unlock this.

There's no such thing as "bad" publicity.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if suddenly they announce that a disgruntled employee was responsible for this and that ... blah blah blah and now they've gotten all this press/attention.

Quote from: MoodyBlues on Fri 10/08/2007 05:11:26See, this is why nonhuman characters are awesome; they can kill each other in the most horrifically violent ways and no one gives a rip.

Doesn't that make us all racist then?  Oh the irony ...

;)

Call me a born skeptic ... but this seems like a BIG publicity stunt to me.

I don't think the right path is stop drawing attention to it.  If this person who wrote that article seriously believes the ignorance she's peddling then she must be educated.  If we "ignore" it the problem will just continue on.  Now, in the case of this website linked to in this thread, I believe ignoring it IS the right path because, as I stated earlier, this seems like an intentionally designed controversy generated to bring hits to her/their website.

I have been saying for years that the word "nigger" is just a string of letters like any other word.  The only reason it continues to have "power" is because people react to it.  It's like we're all 10 year olds on the playground crying 'cause somebody calls you a poo-poo head.

It's a word.  Nothing else.

I love it when I hear the excuse, "but you're not black ... you can't understand!"  Right ... it's inconcievable that a person not of a certain skin color can't understand the concept of an insult.  That excuse is so ignorant in an of itself that it's no wonder the word continues to have power.

The sarcasm is sticky :)

Quote from: arthur.com on Fri 03/08/2007 16:07:54We can travel to the mars and we dont know if there was water

http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/solarsystem/opportunity_water.html

Not only WAS there water on Mars ... there still is.

http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/mars/news/mgs-20061206.html

It should also be pointed out that, while impressive, traveling to Mars is VASTLY different than traveling to another star system.  Not really something that should even be compared in my opinion.

I think that website was just a means to generate traffic.  Nothing brings hits to a website like some controversy!

Of course, it's entirely possible that hag is just incredibly ignorant (racists are).

I too am opposed to terms like "African American" ... whenever I'm refered to as "white" I always reply, "Excuse me?  European-American please."

I want to go downtown (Ft. Lauderdale) and make a call-out for 100 "African Americans".  When I have them all grouped together I will ask them all (one at a time) to name 5 countries in Africa.  My guess would be most would probably think Africa was a country and of the rest most wouldn't be able to name 5 of it's countries.  I don't see what's so wrong with just "American" and being black?

Now before anybody jumps up and calls ol' Darth a racist pig; I know the result would be the same if I collected 100 European-Americans and asked them the same question (or 100 people of any race for that matter).

People are dumb these days.

Maybe a result of life-expectancy going up is IQs going down?

I have a better idea ... how about we read the forum rules and not dig up old threads?

Thaatiba - do not do that again.

If this game is still in production, PM me when/if you want to update and I'll unlock the thread.

Quote from: HillBilly on Thu 02/08/2007 13:59:26I don't think Africans in Africa counts as African-Americans.

Everybody wants to be an American ... and white.

Interesting proposition, Grundy! Both options sound good to me, but I guess I'd come down slightly in favour of Florida because we'd have a local host and the people there speak English ;)

You've obviously never been to Miami ;)

I want to throw my hat in the ring for whatever location we decide on.  I live in Ft. Lauderdale and there's tons of stuff to do up this way too (about 30-45 minutes North of Miami).  But I would love to visit France too.

Either way.  Put me down as attending.

I've been here for almost 4 years ... suppose I should finally attend a mittens!

How?

Totally unrealistic and racist.

As anybody with a brain-stem knows; ALL africans are white.

Duh?

I've yet to find something a Mac can do better and/or easier than a PC.

Macs do come in pretty boxes.

So if you want to spend much more money for a pretty box I say go for it.

I'm down with France ... as long as we can go to Paris and there are lots of pretty French gals hittin' on me with their sexy French accents.

I can't swim ... but I do have a row-boat.  It seats 2 comfortably, so if anybody wants to help row let me know!

If we hold it in Miami I will DEFINITELY be at it!!

However I would be very interested in France as well!

I intended on going this year ... but work got in the way.

I would be happy with either Miami or France.

I just realized my post here is pointless and doesn't help :)

Glad that works for you Meowster.  It's important to be healthy :)

About 1 year ago ... I was 40 lbs heavier than I am now (ask Farlander, he remembers)

I went on, what I call, an "eating plan" (cause I hate to think I need to diet!)

It's pretty simple really, I just portion what I eat.  I used to eat 3 hotdogs and grab the bag of chips and take 'em with me.  Now, I make 1-2 dogs and only a hand full of chips on a plate.  It's similar to what Evenwolf said actually.  I eat about 1/2 what I used to.  It takes some getting used to 'cause my stomach was used to having more food in it.  But once I got used to it I now find myself getting full off less food.

Something that was flying did crash at Roswell ... since they can't seem to identify what it is/was doesn't that, technically, confirm it as a UFO?

Now if we're talking alien UFO ... well then I don't know.

I wasn't there and, at this point, there's so much rumor and speculation floating around with so many "facts" and "reports" it's all lost in the haze as far as I'm concerned.

I still maintain it was all a "smoke screen" to get people focusing their attention there.

Stupot - you do of course realize that the religious people could make the exact same argument about athiests right?  That you have a logic hole in your brain if you think there is no God?

Are you saying that you truely believe there is no power greater than the human being?  What about the weather?  What about the sun?  What about the "power" that drives the universe?

I don't have a problem at all with your beliefs, it's just that when you state them like they're the end-all be-all explanation it comes across as confrontational.

Religious people can't prove God exists.

You can't prove God doesn't exist.

Stalemate.
