It's also the 62nd anniversary of allied landings in France (what is commonly known as "D-Day" - though all allied landings in WWII were called that).

Please review the forum rules and post 2 screenshots (please update the first post with the screenshots).

Since you provided so much other information I'm not going to lock this just yet.

But please ... Read the rules to make sure you post the right screenies.

Thanks

This is NOT the general discussion board ... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay on target and talk about the game.

Obi - this looks/sounds interesting.  Keep up the good work.

yodaman11111 - it's good to see you're still making games (and your graphics do seem to be improving!).  Keep on truckin'.

However ... if you're interested in asking for help with the project; update your first post w/ the part of the project you're looking for help on.  If people express interest send them a PM to follow up.  Otherwise this thread will be clogged with "chat" and we need to avoid that.

Best of luck w/ the game ...

When I saw a (non-music) post in the CL from you I got super excited!  I still remember that last one you did with the orange sunset overlooking the city ... fantastic work then and fantastic work now.  I love your pixel style!

The only thing that stood out (that bugged me) was the mountains in the background ... I think they just don't look right somehow.  Maybe they're too bright ... I'm not sure.  They don't convey distance to me.

(The second picture has some lighting effect across the front of the building (on the right) which I'm not sure if it was intentional, but it doesn't look bad)

Other than that just great stuff!!  Keep up the great work!

Critics' Lounge / Re: Planometric Creator

I believe, if I remember correctly, that Andail termed it "Parallelometric" ... I could be mistaken; it was quite awhile back.

I think this sounds handy, and I'd be interested to see what people can do with it.  I, obviously, am a fan of this style of graphics.

No more talk about the graphics ... if you want/need advice on them, take it into the Critics Lounge please.
#2988
Please review the Forum Rules and add the second "in-game" screenshot.  (your last 2 screenshots are menu screens which don't count)

The project sounds interesting.

I'm not going to lock this (though it does break the Forum Rules) because you included a playable demo ...

But get two in-game screenshots put up ASAP or I'll have to lock it.

The "mouse gesture" system sounds cool.  Can't wait to see what you do with it.

General Discussion / Re: Stephen Colbert
Mon 01/05/2006 18:58:06
I think the ONLY thing Bush and his people can do is try to pretend like it didn't happen ... I mean Bush's approval ratings are the lowest (I believe) that any President has ever had.  It would seem like America is finally waking up?

ANY sort of back-lash they would try to direct at Colbert would probably only send that number lower.

I say hats off to Colbert ... it's one thing to tape a show in a studio ripping on the president, it's another thing ENTIRELY to stand 10 feet from the most powerful man in the world and speak your mind.

Not only is he a great combination of smart and funny, he has now proved he's got those aforementioned brass balls.

I have unlocked this ... please update the post with the proper information.

Quote from: TerricMoonborn on Wed 26/04/2006 07:13:37Sorry for Necroposting...

Don't apologize for "necroposting" ... apologize for not reading the forum rules.

Read them, and don't do this again.

Mr. Mozzeralla - PM me if you're still working on this game and wish to update the thread.  I will unlock it.

Hello Dan, Andrew, and Sasha and welcome to the AGS world!

Glad to have you here.  Please check out the thread, "Newbies Introduce Yourself Here" thread in the General Discussion board to make this kind of introduction!

Enjoy your stay and please, read the forum rules in each section to avoid any ... unpleasant ... encounters :)

Cheers!

Okay gang ...

I got a PM from Stefano.  He's dealing with some real-world issues and isn't going to be around for a bit so he asked me to judge the competition.

After 7 hours of searching for actual entries here are the results:

3rd Place:
the lovely Mash Potato w/

2nd Place:
El Senor El Drey w/

The Winner Is ...
1st Place - Krysis w/

Another victory for the great man of Krysis!!  Congrats buddy, you may start the next Sprite Jam.  I don't have time to make trophies :(  But if you want ... just add another to your collection(s).

The End ... ??

Quote from: Darth Mandarb on Sat 22/04/2006 11:06:28Soooo ... do you guys like puppies?

How's everybody doing?

For some reason I'm getting the impression that the hidden meaning in that post was hidden too well ...

My guess is that Stefano is having to sort through all the useless shit posted in this thread to try and discover the actual entries so he can pick a winner.  Considering there are about 4 pages of nothing/worthless off-topic ramblings it's going to take some time ...

So, just be patient and give him the time needed to wade through the sewage that has become the Sprite Jams of late.

Have you searched these forums?  This question is asked 10 times a month (and was just asked about 2 days ago ...)

Also ... it doesn't really belong in this board.

Do the search and read all the other replies from the other threads ... in the end though, you're just going to have to put in the time/practice to get it right!

If you guys want to keep on with that topic, please take it into PMs ... otherwise, let's get back on topic.

about the remake ...
I remember being floored by the graphics of the original version of OotW way back in the day.  It's neat to see how he didn't completely modernize it ... just some parts.

about "step" games ...
I'm not sure if it qualifies ... but Rolling Thunder for the NES (which always reminds me of PoP and the like) is one of my favorite old-time games.

Though I must admit, having played it recently on an emulator, it's not quite as glorious as I remember.

My brother and I were toying with the idea of remaking it in Flash with much improved visuals.  That, or Bionic Commando.
