Wowzers!  I really didn't see that coming!  Thanks!

I tip my hat to Farlander (who's pixeling skills just keep improving!!) and the rest who entered as well.

I'll whip up a new jam ASAP!

Thanks again!

This is getting rediculous ...

I swear; somebody is opening new accounts and digging up threads (that are just barely under a month old) simply to tease me.

Dusty - before you post in here again, read the forum rules.

Did you think that, FORUM RULES - READ BEFORE POSTING! was just a joke?

General Discussion / Re: Mistakes

I am a huge freak when it comes to noticing mistakes in movies!  Most especially editing mistakes.

Jurassic Park:
Spoiler
When the helicopter is descending you can see the Jeeps parked by the pad (all the way back to the gate), when the camera changes the Jeeps are backing up to the gate.
[close]

Titanic:
Spoiler
When Jack and Rose are walking with Molly (going to dinner) you can see them in the background as the camera focuses on Cal.  When it cuts back to them they are in a completely different pose)
[close]

There are soooo many I could mention.

I am making a movie-review website and one of the sections is devoted to mistakes like this!  So keep 'em coming!

Quote from: Evil on Sun 09/10/2005 17:03:27You cant cut a perfect triangle out of a cylinder so that the base is flat with the bottom. Using a perfect triangle gives it a slanted base, giving the preception you might slide out.

Well she did say it wasn't really a part of the tower ... (after the first post that is!)

I more envisioned it as a "portal" type thing.  More mystical than architectural.  Sorry if I mis-unda-stood ya!

Here's a VERY sloppy mockup of what I was thinking:

I didn't take the time to make the "tube" transparent (if that's what you wanted) and I added a walk-way (which you didn't mention) but anyway ...

Your style doesn't allow for a vanishing point ... so I faded it out in a way that would work in your style.

Hope it helps!

This is actually the technique I was going to use for Amulet of Kings.  I think it's functional and looks good.

The only problem that arises is if you need to focus on something in the background ... because this creates a depth of field style.  And you can't focus on anything other than the foreground.

But if you don't need the background other than "filler" this stlye works quite well!

Wow!  Talk about coming back from the dead!

I'm gonna lock this thread, as it violates the forum rules as of now!

PM me when you have the demo and some screenshots available so we can update the first post!

Thanks!

Quote from: TheCheese33 on Sun 09/10/2005 13:32:58I'm really looking forward to this coming out. Everything looks beautiful! The story also interests me.

You bump a thread (granted it's not quite a month old, but close enough) with a post (about 4 from the bottom) which says:

Quote from: Darth Mandarb on Fri 05/08/2005 15:14:59
Quote from: WhiteNigga on Fri 05/08/2005 10:38:58I just wanted to bring your game back on the top of games in production list

Please do not do that again.

If you want to bump a thread:

1) make sure it's not more than 1 month since the last post in the thread and
2) at the very least, make a comment on the game.

If, "do a great job and the great job will be done by you", is some kind of a comment on the game; you might want to clarify what it means exactly.

read the FORUM RULES before posting in here anymore.

Good lord ... this is becoming an epidemic.

Flop - do not post in here again until you read the forum rules.  You know ... the thread that says, "READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING"

GG - how 'bout a little update now that, after 4 months, your thread has been dug up.

What appened to their site?!?!?!?!?!

They dug up a thread without reading the forum rules first ...

I swear to God ... I'm getting grey hair from people's inabilities to read simple rules.

LucasFan and/or Farlander - how about an update now that your thread has been dug up?

Thanks.

I used to program BASIC on my old Atari ...

Ahhh the memories!

I made an elaborate G.I. Joe adventure once.  Had 10 disks.  There were 9 different characters you could choose from.  The adventure was basically the same but each disk was a different character (didn't quite understand the concept of character variables back then!)

We made so many games in BASIC ... I can't even remember them all.

Ummmm ....

I really like that title.

But it's not really a big deal ... they are different.

I'm taking a screenshot of this one ...

You dig up a thread that has been burried for 7 months AND double post.

This must be some kind of a record.

Simply incredible.

Is this somebody playing a joke on me?  Because I think a person'd have to try REALLY hard to be this dumb ...

The Kitchen

I could be wrong ... but I think you'd be able to see the back legs of the table as well.  It is possible, with the angle, that you wouldn't ... but just eyeing it, it looks off.

I like the angle though.  It's dramatic.

The Alley

Needs polishing ... looks very incomplete and perspective seems off in a few spots (bottom of the door on the right)

Add some details (brick lines, dirt, cracks, etc)

Both need shading too.

All in all, they're off to a great start!

Cher

There's just something about Cher that I love ... though, for some reason, if I admit it people immediately assume I'm gay.  Odd that.

And Shakira ... let's just say I hope she [soon] gets on an airplaine called "The Big Bopper" ...

Never ceases to amaze me ...

shrff - read the forum rules in all boards before you continue posting.

Steve - how 'bout an update now that, after 18 months, you got a bump!

Quote from: Helm on Wed 05/10/2005 20:58:35Avoid photoshop for pixelling regardless of what eric says. He can't change all the pixels of x colour with y colour in just a few clicks, can he?

Are you kidding?  (I'm afraid I don't know your humor)

It's quite easy to do color replacements in Photoshop.  Especially while doing pixel art (with no anti-aliasing).  In fact, it can be done with only two clicks!

Sorry ... I get protective of Photoshop ;)
