All I can say is; I really hope this is a true story!  With the internet ... you just never know.

We (my father, brother and I - all eBay sellers) get these scam attempts all the time.  Usually we just ignore them ... but this might be worth doing sometime.  Even if it costs some green to ship, it'd be worth it.

Jeff probably was given instructions to "disappear" for awhile.  If the people he duped can't find him, they will eventually lose interest in harassing him.  I'm sure he'll resurface after awhile.

I leave it open until you make your post over there ... let me know (via PM) when you do, just in case I miss it!

Thanks, and congrats on finishing it!

I remember this image from before as well!  I did an edit then as well :)

Here's how I envisioned the floor when I saw this image:

I'm not sure what shape this station is, so this might be totally inaccurate!  And I didn't detail the floor that much (though I was envisioning panelling and rivets and such)

Sorry about adding the stars ... but I couldn't resist :)  I totally dig this pic by the way!

Hope it helps!

I wish you the best of luck in reading the FORUM RULES.

Katrina was a category 4 when it made landfall this morning at 6AM (via CNN.com)

I am actually dreading seeing the aftermath ... it's not going to be pretty.  New Orleans is going to be wiped off the map as Homestead (Florida) was with Andrew back in '92.

The storm surge was reported at 20 feet ... those low lying Gulf Coast cities are just gonna get swallowed by this beast.

Were I a praying man I'd be throwing some up north for those people ...

I actually did this once already as a BG Blitz ... it was quite some time ago.

There were only a few entries and most of them lacked that "classic EGA" feeling (if I remember correctly)

Truth to tell, it didn't go over very well.  Then again ... few of my blitzes seem to work well.

Hmm ....

Anyway, I tried searching for it, but couldn't find it.

This isn't the critics lounge ... save the graphics critiques for that board please.

The story sounds interesting (perhaps a bit cliche but not in a bad way).  It sets a mood pretty well.

Please be sure to notify when/if the game is complete!  Thanks and good luck!

Here's an EGA pallette ...

I don't have a CGA pallette but here's something you might find interesting on WikiPedia:

Color Graphics Adapter

Hope that helps.

Grundislav - glad you're okay!  Bummer about the power!  We lost power last year for some time so I can sympathize!

So ... Tiki, Grundislav and I have all checked in.  What about Mills?  Anybody heard from him?

I'm sure he's fine, just curious how he fared!
#3390
Yeah ... this one wasn't so bad.  Our power flickered on and off quite a few times but was never out for more than a few minutes.

The roads are covered with vegetation that got ripped up and flung about.  There was an apt. building just up the road from me that the second floor caved in ... but, suprisingly, nobody was even injured.  An old lady was killed by a tree just down the road from me as well.  Sad.

Grundislav is in Dade ... so he's probably without power.  They got hit pretty bad down there.

I hope this season isn't as bad as last year.  Hurricanes are boring.

General Discussion / Re: I was just fired.

Wow ... that sucks man!

I used to work at a grocery store years ago and I never paid for anything from the place.

I would just go to the shelves and grab something to eat ... and they never said anything to me about it.

I did get fired from the place though ... but that's another story.

Sounds like a series of unfortunate events that led up to the firing.  Shake it off, you can always get another job!!

I've unlocked your thread ...

Some advice:  before running full speed ahead and posting, take a look at the sticky threads in each board ... particularly the forum rules.

Not quite sure how this one snuck past me ...

The FORUM RULES require two (minimum) "in game" screenshots and this has none.  Please review the rules.

The initial post says nothing about the game either.

Review this Example Thread for ideas on how to format your post.

As soon as you have the screenshots and a proper post available, send me a PM which includes the links to the pictures and I'll update the post and unlock this thread.

idiotbox wins the award for "quickest response" - Thanks for the update!  Thread re-opened!!

I swear to holy god above ... people simply cannot read anymore.

Taffytom - directly above where you entered the text for the sig image is text that states:

NOTE: If you include an image in your signature, it MUST NOT be more than 600 pixels wide or 50 pixels high. Failure to respect this may result in your signature being removed.

Your sig is almost 3 times that height.  Either fix it or remove it!

What's the current progress, Grundislav? ???

** sigh **

The entire world has completely forgotten how to read.

As stated in the FORUM RULES:

DO NOT dig up old threads!!
If you're interested in an old thread* about a project don't post asking about the progress.  Send a PM to the game's author.  If the project has been cancelled and/or abandoned there's no point in bumping the thread!

* Old Threads are threads that have been inactive for near to over 1 month OR are no longer on the first page of threads.

Now ... I know that the forum rules in here can be easy to overlook ... you know, always at the top in all capital letters and in bold print saying "READ FIRST" but please ... look over them.

Grundislav - I know you're still working on this, so now that it's been dug up ... how about an udate to the thread?

thanks buddy!

I remember this guy from awhile back ...

I remember thinking he was pretty good back then, if a bit too large to be practical in a game.   (if I'm remembering correctly - wasn't there also a hyiena or something?)

These sprites, however, look pretty darn good.  I like the emotions and the different poses.  I'd like to see it animated.

However ... calling DOTT style (even mock DOTT) is a touchy subject 'round these parts lately!!  Tread lightly ;)

Most excellent!  Thanks for the speedy replies!  Of course ... production of JP&CosmoII is on hold pending the completion of Occultas Veritas ... so that gives lots of time for this 3D stuff to develop and be perfected!

Steve - I thought AGS Mini-Golf was awesome ... this is even better!

Of course that gives me another idea.  You could use this to set up 3D terrained golf courses and actually make a golf game in AGS!!  How cool would that be!

The possibilities just keep occuring to me!

I haven't yet replied to this thread (though I've been reading it daily) but I just had to chime in ...

You guys have got my vote for next years "best plugin" award :)  This is simply fantastic!

In JP & Cosmo II I was planning on having a 'space battle' sequence where JP mans the gun turret on the back of Cosmo's ship and blasts some bad-guy ships into space rubble ...

I was planning on doing this pretty basically using sprites that just scale as they get "closer" to the ship.  However, after seeing the direction this is headed, I'm now thinking it could be used quite nicely for what I have in mind.

So I have some questions (forgive if they've been asked already ... this is a huge thread now!)

> Would it be possible to have objects follow paths (the bad-guy space ships)

> would it be possible to put an 'over-lay' graphic that wouldn't move with the 3D stuff (the window panes of the gun turrets and the guns themselves)

> would it be possible to have actual 3D 'weapons' (lasers, missles) that would, when colliding with other objects cause them to go boom?

> lastly, would it be possible to use a background (starfield) that would loop/scroll (AGS can already do this) so that as Cosmo navigates around the scene the stars would be moving in the background?

I know that's a LOT to ask ... I'm just curious more than requesting :)

I have a few other ideas where this application could be used quite nicely in the game.

EXCELLENT JOB GUYS!!

If you don't have the screenshots to post yet ... you should have waited to start the thread.

PM me the screenshots and I'll add them for you, and unlock the thread.

However, if you're only finishing a second background ... you really should have waited a bit before before starting this thread.

It's your choice.
