I always (try to) live by,

"You can't make a better future by living in the past."

Which is probably a little hypocritical since this forum is dedicated to games from 15-20 years ago!

What I basically mean is that you can't dwell on the past.Ã,  You shouldn't forget it, but you shouldn't let it dominate either.Ã,  Learn from it, and move on.

It ties in nicely with another one of my philosophies, "Fuck it!"

I found it strange that the Pentagon, one of the most technologically advanced complexes anywhere in the world, has a shoddy surveillance camera like that.Ã,  All we get is five frames?

I also found it funny that nobody/nothing else ANYwhere captured the incident on film.

So this little video, though dramatized for effect, does point out a lot of the same questions I've always had.

I would like to know what happened ... but it's probably one of those things that will forever be guessed upon, like the JFK assassination.

If they want to cover it up, it'll be covered up.

D'oh!!

I completely forgot that BGB's were voted on!

I gotta go with Privateer Puddin' ... (his second entry)

Neutron's BG was more artistic, but puddin's felt more adventure gamish to me.

Is anybody else as confused as I am?

Pleave review the FORUM RULES and update your first post.

The screenies look interesting but I think I speak for many of us when I say we'd like to know what the game is about.

General Discussion / Forum problems?
Thu 21/10/2004 23:41:35
Lately I've been having extreme troubles with the forums.

It is taking a long time to load, and seems to be down a lot.

It's been happening since the 'big' downtime awhile back.

All other websites are working instantly.  It's just the AGS forums I'm having problems with.  Anybody else?  Am I just going insane?

CJ, is there something wrong with the server?

Considering this post by Darth Mandarb consists of 2 definite errors (Can you find them?), I will conclude that this person does not know what he/she is talking about regarding this matter.

Ooooh zinger!Ã,  You got me good!

I should probably stop coming to these forums for shame.

Before you ask a question, use the search feature on the forums.Ã,  Chances are, you aren't coming up with an original question and can find it answered else where if you just take the time.

You would, of course, know this had you read the forum rules (they're the sticky topics that usually say something like "READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING" or other inconspiculously veiled titles).

Or perhaps you were trying to start a competition?Ã,  This is restricted to the competitions and activities board.Ã,  However you need permission to post a new contest.Ã,  You must ask in the General Discussion forum first.Ã,  These three bits of info would have been known to you, again, if you'd read the forum rules first.

Who knows?Ã,  Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about in this matter ...

Please ask for help in the ACR Thread.

You can post an 'open position' in your initial post, but keep the asking to the ACR thread please.

Critics' Lounge / Re: which cross? et al.
Thu 21/10/2004 16:39:50
I'd go with cross A.

1) I think it looks cooler and
2) I think it would show up better in game.

Quote from: Isegrim on Thu 21/10/2004 16:32:242) would you think it sensible to script a clock with RawDraw that shows the actual time?
Maybe not sensible ... but definately cool as hell!

I say go for it!

What kind of attitude is that?

Relink the image and let us help you ... it's what this lounge is for.

Congratulations Neutron!Ã,  (good choice YOke)

Hey Puddin' ... if you need to hold my hand while you cry, I'm here for you ;)

I suppose the rule isn't really clear ...

For me personally I don't like having to go to a website.  I'd rather just read about the game (and see the screenshots) inside the GiP thread.

But that's just me.

Quote from: Highwaygal on Tue 19/10/2004 20:39:31And Darth, you know, there might be an audience outside the forums :P

Yeah I know, which is why I said, "... but it probably won't find too big of an audience on these forums"

:P

I would like to see an English version.Ã,  My Hebrew is a little rusty :)
#4015
It's a great looking background (as usual).

I hope that fraying support rope doesn't snap ...

NOTE: I probably should have merged it into that thread
#4016
I suppose it's interesting that it's in Hebrew ... but it probably won't find too big of an audience on these forums as there only a few who speak Hebrew.

But hey, it's your game :)
#4017
Please post at least two in-game screenshots (as per the forum rules) in the initial post.

The game looks pretty neat.

The backgrounds look very well done and the plot sounds ... interesting.

Everybody can ... because this has been asked about 20000000000 times before :)

You must wait a little longer before wondering where the replies are!  Be patient oh yee n00b of AGS!

Don't worry about your graphics ... take a look at some of the other games made with AGS.  It's not always about the graphics.

This isn't the Critics Lounge so I won't discuss your graphics other than to say this; it seems like you have some skill in laying out the background, why not spend a few hours making it cleaner/nicer.
#4020
It's all done in one character.

I'm not scaling characters (my background style makes it unnecessary).

I can see the advantages of turning the shadow on and off, but I figured if it was ever necessary I would use a different character view (without the shadow) rather than having another character following him around.  I've had better success with changing the character views than making a character follow exactly.

Either way, as Igor said, it's a blessing!
