MAGS ...

Maybe October's MAGS competition could be a 'Halloween Comedy' game or something?

I don't personally see the point in another 'make a game' competition.

But that's just me ...

AGS-GD - That looks fantastic!  Even if you don't make the deadline for MAGs keep working on this one!

Weren't Darth and Farl working on a resources site?
First I've heard of it :)

I know Migs, who hasn't posted since ... July 31st, was working on a huge resource site.Ã,  I don't think it was just for AGS, but it had a lot to do with it.Ã,  I can't really remember ...

I think it's a good idea.Ã,  Perhaps I'll talk to Mr. Farlander about it ...

So you dig up the old thread again?

Did you find that link in the first post?

Chrille - if you're out there and reading this, let me know if/when you want it unlocked.

This looks pretty darn interesting!

It's good to see so many good looking games being worked on lately!

Keep it up!

My first impression would be something to do with drugs.Ã,  (Isn't that what they used to call it when you mixed heroin and absynth together?)

It would catch my interest though.Ã,  Whatever it makes me think about, it's a 'snazzy' sounding title.

Yes, it looks fantastic!  A great improvement!

Keep it up :)

The leg movement on the walking animation is great! Ã, But the body movement forward is a little ... off? Ã, And up and down movement would be IMO better suited.

Example: Just to show up/down motion while walking)

(please ignore the faster speed and the mess ups in the feet, my gif proggy just wouldn't cleanly import your gif, use your feet as you had them, they look great)

You should also add some arm sway (unless that's a specific character trait that he doesn't move his arms while walking) and maybe even some belly jiggle.Ã,  As that's a rather large gut!

It's such a pleasure to find something like this when I login to the forums!

The game looks very good and very well planned.Ã,  I love the atmosphere to the Terminator movies (after the bombs).

The screenies look really good (could use some more lighting/shadows perhaps but this isn't the CL! (Critics Lounge))

Are the other environs going to be blasted/destoyed/twisted metal looking?

I fiddled with Duke3D's builder many years ago ...

Anyway, good luck and welcome to the forums!

What is a Photoshop Wednesday? - It's photoshop friday which starts on a wednesday instead.Ã,  Jeeze ... pay attention.

See this link:
http://www.somethingawful.com/photoshop/

And for other examples, see here:
http://www.worth1000.com/

The two above websites should give a fair idea of what is involved. Also you can check out the earlier Photoshop Phridays in this forum.

Note: Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't have to specifically use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, MSPaint, or any other programs can be used.

This week: Adventure Game Protests

What would cause Adventure Game fans to take to the streets in protest?

Guidelines:
- You can come up with any scenario you want.
- It must, in some way, relate to an adventure game.
- Using adventure characters is allowed (of course) but not necessary.

Ex: Larry Laffer has been arrested for Criminal Sexual Misconduct which starts the "Free Laffer" campaign!!

More examples:
- Pirates have been outlawed in New York City.
- Unfair treatment of canine detectives.
- Tentacle Discrimination!!

The possiblities are endless!!Ã,  Use your imagination!

Good luck, but most of all, HAVE FUN!!!

We've had this thread before ... I tried to search for it, but couldn't find.

So I guess I'll just add to this one:
XP Pro
Intel P4 2.8 GHz
512 MB RAM
120gb HD
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 (128 MB)
21" ViewSonic G810

BUT ... not for long!!

What have I just ordered you asked?

2 - 17" Samsung Flatpanel monitors
2 - 250gb WesternDigital 7200rpm hard drives
16X Dual-layer DVD/48X CD burner
2gb RAM
Pinnacle Studios MOVIEBOX deluxe

I'm going to be a DVD making fool!

(and Sara gets a 21" monitor for her computer for free ... aint she lucky?)

Now now now ... King of the Universe?Ã,  I hardly think so ... King of the World is enough for me!!Ã,  :)

I finally won a photoshop contest ... albeit one that only 3 people entered and 1 of them wasn't done in photoshop.

Thanks!

I'll start the new one ASAP.

Lock and condemn ;)

Topic unlocked, please include the screenshots.

Do you have all directions of your 'talking' view set up?

Edit - err ... never mind.  I must have read it wrong.

So when he's (the main character) not speaking, he faces down?

I say just drop out of school.

It's pointless anyway.

I stopped going after 8th grade ... didn't see the point.

And look at me now!!!

Hah!  I used to love that game way back in the day!!

It's a (basically) mindless game that is perfectly suited for mobile gaming on a cell phone!

Who commissioned you to do this if you don't mind me asking?  I mean, since you've got no pixel experience ... was it a friend or something?  (just being nosey cause I'd love to be involved with stuff like that)

The screen looks pretty good to me.  I would try to throw a real subtle gradient to the skyline.

What are the specs on something like this?

Is 128x128 the resolution of cell screens?  What color depth?  How much freedom (animation) do you have?

[/questions]

I'm sure the perspective is correctly aligned with the vanishing points that were already in the image when I did the edit.

But you're right, the ship is awfully long!

blackman, you might want to shorten it just a bit.

I'm assuming the hallway you had before is 'inside' this structure?Ã,  If that's the case, then I would further assume this is just a rather large vessel!

ghostface - stop digging up old threads.

Have you read the FORUM RULES:

DO NOT dig up old threads!!
If you're interested in an old thread about a project don't post asking about the progress.Ã,  Send a PM to the game's author.Ã,  If the project has been cancelled and/or abandoned there's no point in bumping the thread!

Well ... personally I think this game looks like it's going to suck big eggs.

But you must understand that I'm saying that while pretending to be a Gila Monster ... and one of my biggest joys in life is sucking big eggs.

;)

I wouldn't worry about lack of posts.Ã,  I would guess that, at this point, people just want the thing to come out and have already posted what they wanted to say.

Keep up the good work and GIVE US THIS GAME!!!!!
