And, as I have before.Ã,  I made another one (actually this was the first one I made):
Second Entry
When I found this picture my first thought was how creepy it would be if Larry Laffer was in line ...

I didn't even get that far ... when I try to un-rar it ... I don't know the term.

When I double click the .rar icon, Stuffit opens up and it then gives that error.Ã,  I might just need to dl a new version of Stuffit or something ...

Quote from: Pumaman on Thu 16/09/2004 21:35:18Bad memories of school sports day with you too, then
No, I did okay in the sports.

It was just getting noticed by the ladies where I fell a wee bit short.Ã,  It's probably mostly cause I was smart ... and in my high school you just weren't cool/hot/sexy if you were smart.

You had to be dumb for the women to think you were attractive.

I could never understand that.

I am seriously going to write a book someday about my luck with the ladies ... you think John Cusak had it bad in 'High Fidelity'?Ã,  Wait'll you get a hold'a some of my stories!!

But worry not oh ye of the single classification ... it WILL happen for you someday.Ã,  For me, it was all the cliches rolled into one.Ã,  I wasn't looking, I wasn't trying, I didn't even suspect, she was the last person I would have picked, etc, etc and the next thing I know I've moved across the country for her and now we live together.

Love is indeed a strange thing ...

Oh, and she too is deflatable.Ã,  Though I only paid $44.99 for her off of eBay!

Demorgan - is Tonya an AGSer though?Ã,  I know Scummy's gal-friend posts on here from time to time so she counts!Ã,  I would certainly pick Sara (my gal) if she posted here, but she gets disqualified due to her status as a non-AGSer.

HOWEVER ... should the basis of 'sexy' be determined from just pictures posted on these forums (or elsewhere)?

For me, determining if somebody is sexy comes from FAR more than a picture.Ã,  It's all about personality, style, aura, etc.

Now, were the question, "Who's the HOTTEST AGSer" I could easily pick just from the photos.Ã,  Though I probably wouldn't pick ... just 'cause I know what it feels like to not be picked and it's no fun.

So to all the lovely ladies of AGS ... I think you're all hot and sexy!!Ã,  Keep up the game making girls!!

Oh and fellas?Ã,  You're all pretty sexy too ...

Maybe try adding a few pixels here and there to change the hair style, shoulder width, eyes, hands, etc.

Try changing the length of the arms/legs maybe.

When you're working on something this small in size it's not really all that dangerous to just throw pixels around.Ã,  It's what I do .. and you can usually come up with some pleasing results.

Mr. Flibble - as Mr.C said, posting a WiP is totally acceptable!!Ã,  That's what the CL is [partly] here for!

Ranger16 - you waited a whole 4 minutes before posting 'hello'.

... adding to SSH's list:
4. Don't post a followup (double) 'hello' post.Ã,  People will respond if/when they want to. (part of #2 from above)
5. Be a little more patient.Ã,  4 minutes?Ã,  It can take hours sometimes ... not everybody is on the forums reading 1 particular message at all times.
6. Welcome to AGS.

I like the idea of Chicken Run ... I don't think this game idea would suffer from something similar (like what I posted before!).Ã,  I don't think the idea of making it some kind of gang thing in the streets of L.A. is a good idea.Ã,  Actually, I think that's a dumb idea.Ã,  Putting the turkeys into an environment they don't belong and making them thugs seems ... well ... dumb.

And don't use (c)rap music either.

Quote from: j-Hed on Wed 15/09/2004 22:49:37And sorry Darth it was clumsy of me double post etc. but Opo's screenshots are accurate so I don't see any reason to delete that reply.
No worries about the double post.Ã,  Since Opo's screens are still the 'real' deal, it's all good.

I downloaded it, but I can't seem to open it.Ã,  It gives me some kind of Engine Error : Runtime Error or something ...

Is there a possibility of a zipped version in the future?Ã,  I'd like to try it out.

Please don't double post.

Are the screenshots in Opo Terser's post (from page 1), current and accurate from this game?

The first post (thanks for editting) only has one picture (which is HUGE by the way - you might consider resizing that) and doesn't look like a screenshot.Ã,  The Games in Production Forum Rules require a minimum of two in-game screenshots.

Please update the first post with at least 2 in-game screenshots (if Opo's post isn't accurate).

The graphics look good.Ã,  When I have some time later I'll DL and give you some feedback.

Edit - I wasn't trying to be harsh ...

Posts asking for help belong in the ACR Thread at the top of this forum.

Also, are you deliberately using the ship from Pirates of the Carribean?

And Gobbler could be voiced in the speech pack by Mel Gibson.... just like Chicken Run!

* SSH  suspects fowl play, as he takes a gander at the plot

Good pun!

I was thinking it was very similar to Chicken Run as well.

But then, I thought that from his first post.

I was just trying to propose another avenue rather than a 'war with seagulls'.

Feather Wars : Episode I - The Escape

Gobler is a turkey.  He lives on a farm, couped up between walls of chicken wire.

Every day a band of seagulls fly over and taunts Gobler and his emprisoned mates.  They shout down things like, "Hey fellas, what's for dinner!?", and "Don't lose your head!!".

Gobler has had enough.  He formulates a plan.  A plan to escape this cruel life of abuse!

Gobler discovers that the weight of one turkey is enough to force open the gate to their enclosure.  The only problem is that bird then can't escape with the rest.  So which bird will be the sacrifice?  No, this won't do!!

He cooks up a plan to lure the seagulls into a trap, a trap that when triggered, will use the seagull's combined weight to open the gate and trap them in the enclosure (a little revenge!!).  He figures if he can lure the dumb birds down with a shiny object, he can make the netting over the enclosure fall over them trapping them on the gate release!

So Gobbler asked Miss Witney (the farmer's cat) if she'd be so kind as to fetch him something shiny?  Miss Witney is a compassionate cat who feels truely sorry for the condemned turkeys so she obliges and retrieves for him a shiny spoon.  Part A of the escape plan is in motion!!

But there's another problem ... the farmers dog, Sherriff Thunder.  Thunder is a nice enough pooch, but he's single minded in his dedication to following the law of the farm.   Gobler and his fellow escapees must find a way to out smart the Sherriff.

They decide to make the cows (in the next enclosure) panic into a stampede which will pull Sherriff Thunder's attention away from the turkey coup.  But how to make the cows panic?  Simple!  They know that cows panic at sudden loud noises.  So Gobbler uses the loose board on the coup!  He makes it fall onto the tin roof of the feed bin fight next to the cow pen.  The loud noise will make the cows stampede!

Now all these elements must come together with precision and timing for the escape to work just right!

Will it work?  Will Gobbler and his friends escape their lives of enclosure?  Will this Band of Feathers escape a fate of becoming Thanksgiving dinner?

You'll find out!!

It makes more sense to use an animated object.

This question has been asked countless times.

Darth's helpful tip: Search first!

Here's just 1 of the many threads I found which may be of use to you.

I searched for 'background animation object' and got several results.

Best of luck!
#4153
Yep!  That did it!  (putting it in the rep_ex)

Thanks bunches Bernie!

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I finally got around to implementing this and I'm having some problems.

What I want to have happen is that when you move your cursor over the GUI button, it'll change another button's picture.Ã,  So if you mouseOver the walk icon (in the GUI) it'll change the middle button's graphic to say 'Walk' instead of its default state.

Here's my code:
Code: ags
Ã,  Ã,  if (GetLocationType(mouse.x, mouse.y) == 0) {
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  if (GetGUIAt(mouse.x, mouse.y) == MAINGUI) {
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  if (GetGUIObjectAt(mouse.x, mouse.y) == 5) SetButtonPic(MAINGUI,8,1,43);
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  else if (GetGUIObjectAt(mouse.x, mouse.y) == 0) SetButtonPic(MAINGUI,8,1,42);
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  else SetButtonPic(MAINGUI,8,1,42);
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  }
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  }

This seems to me to be what I was looking for, however, when I mouseOver the GUI objects, nothing happens.

If I click on a GUI object (walk), the GUI closes (as it's supposed to) and if I reopen the GUI, the middle button's pic has changed to say 'Walk'.Ã,  So it IS changing the button's pic ... just not when I want it to.

Is there a way to do this as a 'mouseOver' effect?

What have I tried?

I tried removing the IF statement checking to make sure you're in the MAINGUI because it takes up the whole screen so I figured I didn't need that.Ã,  It didn't error, but it still didn't work.

I tried using a Label instead of a button.Ã,  Same effect as above, changed on the click, but not the mouseOver.

I tried changing the IF statement to reflect another button rather than 0 or 5 and got the same effect as above.

Anyhelp would be much appreciated!Ã,

Thanks!

- got rid of black outlines
- made floor more of a brown wood color (though I do like the cherry)
- changed color of bedframe (was same as floor and blended)
- changed color of bookshelf (same as above)
- added baseboard
- changed the curtains a bit
- added shading

I used Photoshop to do this, but with low color as you have it, it shouldn't be too difficult to duplicate something like this in Paint.

As LT said, I would add some things to the walls (pictures, etc) because they do look pretty barren as is.

Also, the ceiling may be a bit high ...

Hope it helps!

What Andail suggested (and editted) was exactly what I was referring to!Ã,  It makes it feel like a more vast area!

Your edit is better too!Ã,  Though I would suggest maybe upping the contrast on the foreground elements (similar to what Andail did) though maybe not quite that much (as he also said!)

Good improvements!Ã,  Keep it up!

I knew Mayhew was Chewie (couldn't call myself an old-school star wars fan otherwise!)Ã,  I thought you were thinking that he was also the Predator.Ã,  No worries, I just got confuse-ed.

And thank you for ruining my eyes with that cosplayers link ... good lord!!!Ã,  If that's what I have to look forward to at the Brisbane Supernova I'm definately buying that ticket now!!!

Quote from: DGMacphee on Tue 14/09/2004 17:50:28Also, Peter Mayhew can kiss my bollocks! $40 for an autograph! Bah! He played a shaggy doormat in Star Wars! I'm not going to pay $40 for an autograph from some guy who spent a movie groaning in a costume!

Chris Sabat, on the other hand, was a champion. Class act all the way.
Was that in response to my 'Predator' statement? Ã, If so, Peter Mayhew didn't play the Predator, that was Kevin Peter Hall. Ã, Either way though, you're definately right. Ã, I wouldn't pay the 40 bux for either of them! Ã, I bumped into him getting some coffee.

And who is Chris Sabat? Ã, I don't recognize ... I searched IMDB and only found this: Christopher Sabat.Ã,  Is this him?

And what are 'cosplayers' ... boy you Austrailians just fill me with questions ;)

Fill me in!!

I hope you're kidding ... the French have given us some great things!

Julie Delpy for one ...

Edith Piaf ...

And French Kissing is tops!!

I think the whole 'freedom' fries things was stupid.Ã,  So many people immediately hated the French ... and for what?Ã,  I've often said that I can't stand how a lot of the world hates me because I'm an American, when in fact, what they really hate is the American government.Ã,  It's ignorant to judge/hate me because you hate GeeDubya just as it was ignorant for Americans to hate the French because their government wouldn't back a U.S. war.

I admit (not proudly) that I was mad and made some anti-french comments at the time.Ã,  But when my blood settled I realized it was stupid.Ã,  Just to clarify!

Ignorance all around IMO.

Ahhh ... if only my (last minute) ticket to Brisbane wasn't $2950.00!!

I love these kinds of conventions!Ã,  I think it's a tad on the rediculous side to pay $40 for an autograph of a psuedo-famous actor.Ã,  But alas, I don't make the rules!

A jack-ass friend of mine (my best friend) once got us kicked out of a Star Wars convention becuase he boosted a 12" Han Solo from some guy's booth.Ã,  He was quite a clepto back then.

I did get to meet the Predator ...
