I'm not sure what would be the difference (if any).

And I don't know of a chart anybody has made ...

But you could create two news games with only 1 graphic you add in.Ã,  In one version use an 8-bit and in the other use a 24-bit.Ã,  Compile both and compare.

Might not be VERY accurate ... but probably will give you an idea of the difference.

I think that's great!!

It's definately nice when your work gets some props!!

My game (A Friend Indeed) was gonna be in an Italian magazine ... but I haven't heard back from them in about a month :(Ã,  So not sure what happened there.

But this isn't about me ... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

That's going above and beyond (that he sent you money).

You should bask in the glow of 'warm fuzziness' for as long as it lasts :)

Cheers

So um, if subject A holds a gun to his head, is subject Ab being held hostage?
And is it rape for subject Ab if subject A has sex?

N3T is right IF you want perspective ...

When I first saw this I thought (assumed) you were going for an isometric-ish look to the image.Ã,  Where there is no vanishing point and every angle is the same.

If that's the case, you should make all lines go like this:

Ã, Ã,  Ã, [][]
[][]

A 2 to 1 ratio ... if you're line goes up and to the right, it should go up 1 pixel for every 2 pixels to the right.

Does that make sense?

Also a warning, Isometric can be VERY difficult to work with in AGS, it takes a lot of getting used to!

Wow!!

This looks great Duzz!

The characters have so much ... character!Ã,  The only one I wouldn't have guessed right is Gandhi (only 'cause he's a little more portly than I think of Gandhi!)

Much promise, keep it up!

The newest animation is getting better!

I would suggest that when one foot is coming up (forward) make the other foot go up as well (just up behind the dress' hem line).Ã,  This will create the feeling that as one leg comes forward, the other is going back and should smooth it out some.

Right now, to me, it looks like she's just marching in place.

Also, as has been suggested and acknowledged, a little 1-pixel bounce might finish the deal.

The newer version of the bridge is great ;)

The hallway is much improved as well.

The engine room ...

I might suggest removing the cracks on the walls in the engine room.

If the engine room is on that ship, I don't think the walls would be made of concrete?

Who knows??Ã,  It just looks out of place now that I see it's on a space ship.

Nothin' like diggin' up an old thread!

Scotch, if you're still working on this let me know.

Until then ...

Once you have the space suit you need to view your 'pockets' and then click on 'Use Item' and then click on the space suit.  It'll put it on for you.

I never did like the way the inventory system worked ... I just never got around to making it different.

I hope you like the game!

I did this for another topic ... but I am assuming it's okay to add it to the growing collection here:

My idea of the worst neighbor?

This guy:

I mean, he's up at all hours of the night.Ã,  The smell of marijuana constantly seeps through the walls.Ã,  He has nihilists coming over and throwing 'marmots' into his tub.Ã,  Carpet pissers show up and do just that on his rug (which really tied the room together).Ã,  And to top it all off, this fellow:

is always around and they argue about the stupidest pointless shit dealing with Vietnam.

Screw this ... I'm moving.

Instead of "The One" (which is too much like The Matrix as Blackthrone said) you should call him something like OneZeroOne ... I mean, it does take place in a computer right?

How about just calling him Binary?

"There are 10 kinds of people on the earth ... Those who can read binary, and those who can't."

QuoteSorry for being sarcastic, but people tick me off when they speak ("iT's A ScAm") before they read.
And perhaps if you had read (the fine print), as Daniel pointed out, you would have realized it wasn't all it was cracked up to be :)

I'd rather pay a few hundred bucks for an iPod than sacrifice my soul to a spam-scam like this.

Just my personal opinion, as I said before, you might get lucky ... or something.

I've read it ...

It's still a scam.

But if you're all about it, then good luck.Ã,  Maybe you'll be the 1 or 2 out of 2,000,000 who gets lucky.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you though.

Make sure you tell the thousands of people who you get to sign up for this not to use their real e-mail address and to make sure they don't put your name (and real e-mail address) in when they sign up.

Happy spamming!

Oh ... I see!

Well, in that case:

I pulled down your image, resized it to that size, traced the outline(s) with black, and colored it in.

Not too difficult, only took me 15-20 minutes.

It was meant to be an intercom ... I was under the impression it was a 'space' ship.Ã,  So that's why I made it kind of techno-y/futuristic.

I would have made it quite different had I known it was a boat :)

Either way it's turning into a decent enough background.Ã,  About the only thing I would suggest would be to raise the ceiling a little and take out the harsh angle.

1) This doesn't belong in the tech forum (it's VERY much a beginners question)
2) This is most definately covered in AGS Help ... ie RTFM!!!

You might want to review this (not obviously titled) thread; READ THIS THREAD FIRST BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE! in the Beginners Tech Question board, or, as always, read the manual before asking simple questions.

I like the image and had to look at it for awhile before getting picky with a paintover ...

- brightened the whole thing and adjusted the contrast a little
- fixed some perspective issues (pipes going in front/behind other pipes)
- fixed door perspective
- added some shading/hilights
- adjusted floor/ceiling lines on back wall
- altered first machine (just to give more detail ideas)
- adjusted lines on 'tools' box
- removed some double pixels

Hope it helps!

Do you want the character more in the RON style?  My style of character ... well it might not fit well in your backgrounds?  I can try to make it more RONish if you'd like?

If not, I'll see about animating him tomorrow (meaning after I sleep).
#4240
I think this sounds like a pretty darn good idea!

It's about 2:30 am and I can't seem to find sleep ... so I took a crack at a CJ character:

I think it's a rather good likeness ... I couldn't get the mouth quite right.

Anyway ... if you like it, I can probably find time to animate it for you.
