Well technically it's a little bit of both, isn't it? :)

Oh wow, this is great :) I'd love to have something like this running on my first generation iPad that's barely usable for anything anymore other than read ebooks.

This reminds me of some of the night terrors I used to have as a kid, so I don't think I'll be paying to experience that again... (wrong)

Took the liberty of translating. Lots of errors as I'm rushing through it, and it doesn't fully retain the flair of the original text, but I think it gets the point across! (Not proof read :P)

Episode 61

(for those relying on this forum thread to get updates)

Looks like HM Spiffing has met its goal the second time around (£1,000 past the goal of £30,000 with 29 hours remaining). I played the demo and it shows a lot of promise, definitely one of the better looking 3D point and click adventure games out there.

I started listening to Serial last week and it has been great so far. I'm up to episode 4 so I'm not entirely caught up, but that's some real serious investigative journalism right there that I wish was more common.

Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project is another podcast I enjoy, when they aren't doing consecutive spoilercasts of things I haven't yet watched/read

Now I must listen to latest BCT again as I fell asleep listening to it the first time. I only remember some brief talk of Baldur's Gate before descending into oblivion!

Yes! I have a long list of podcasts that I listen to regularly, among them good ones like the Giant Bombcast, This American Life, Star Talk Radio + a bunch more, but at the end of the day I get the most excited when I see a new BCT appear on my phone!

Don't worry, I'm sure there will be a leak (laugh)

PC Gamer has a recent interview with Jensen, Gabriel Knight interview: Jane Jensen on the revival of her classic adventure game, if this is still on anyone's radar :)
#32
Yup, we're discussing it in this thread :)

As long as it's a great King's Quest game I'm even okay with it being a first person shooter :-D

But I'm hoping for something along the lines of The Walking Dead, but with perhaps a few more traditional puzzles.

Sierra Games returns with new King's Quest and Geometry Wars titles

QuoteNew corporate owner Activision is set to reactivate those memories today, reviving the brand as "Sierra Games" and promising new games in the King's Quest and Geometry Wars franchises.
QuoteThe newest King's Quest entry is being developed for 2015 by The Odd Gentlemen, best known for esoteric puzzle platform game The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom.
Quote“Sierra's goal is to find and work with gifted up-and-coming indie developers working on their own amazing projects or who are passionate about working on great Sierra IP,” a Sierra representative told GamesBeat. “We're in talks with a large number of other indie devs, and we can't wait to share more details with fans in the near future.”
Quote"We're very proud of what we created all those years ago with Sierra Online, and today's news about carrying Sierra forward as an indie-specific brand is very encouraging," Sierra founder Ken Williams said in a statement obtained by Eurogamer. "We look forward to seeing Sierra's independent spirit live on, and are especially excited to see what The Odd Gentlemen will do with King's Quest."

I don't think it's an issue with AGS. As far as I know, Camtasia was never meant to record games, so it won't record them unless you use the mentioned workaround of Windowed mode.

There's dedicated software to record games, such as Fraps, Bandicam, and dxtory. These should all work fine in full screen.

Congratulations on getting so close to release! I'm looking forward to the final release with great anticipation :)

Will us who sent 15 EUR before via PayPal as a pre-order be getting Steam keys as well?
#37
That is really awesome :)

Though a bit weird and risky to undertake such a huge thing without checking with you beforehand.

Yeah, I'm with you there, Grim. I took a few days to go through the tutorials and documentation and I came to the conclusion I'm better off waiting until AC matures a bit before I dive into it with anything other than a simple one-room test. I find it to be quite confusing at a first glance, and not very intuitive with tutorials that don't seem to quite be up to date. There's definitely some potential in it, but anything I'm working on will be very dialog heavy, and right now setting up lots of complex dialog trees is just way too painful without a proper tool.

Yeah, AGS is very easy if you want to make a point and click adventure game because it helps you along the way with almost everything.

I can easily create a playable point and click game in AGS, but if I were to use plain Unity to make one I really wouldn't know where to begin.

There's the Adventure Creator framework for Unity which I have purchased, at this point mainly to show my support and encourage him to keep working and updating it, but I haven't made anything with it yet so I can't speak to its ease of use.

(My only worry there is he will release a 2.0 version that I have to pay for, before I've even used 1.0 :P)

This one looks great. Been looking for something like this for years.
