Absolutely amazing... :)

I love my Motown. Especially 'This Old Heart Of Mine' and 'Behind A Painted Smile'.

True classics. It's a shame they don't make music anymore today.

How do you guys go about coding your game whilst waiting for the background art to be created by your team?

Rough outline sketches? And how do you then import the background once it's complete without loosing all your hotspots etc? Or if you can import without loosing them then how do you reallign them with the new background?

Just wondered how you guys did it.

Excellent style - it's very remiscent of 6 Days a Sceptic but so what? The graphics are nice and simple. I often find that these are the most enjoyable games.

THANK THE LORD!!!! lol

The transparent lines worked - don't ask me how, they just did!

Thanks to all those who helped, I couldn't have done it without you!
#306
When you say add a line of transparent pixels round the edge, do you mean draw the line OVER the actual sprite or ADD it to the end?

320x200, I'm having a dilemma. I want my game to be high resolution but it's extremely hard to draw in that quality. What do you all think?

#308
What a different and unique style. Very appealing. Yes there were a few grammtical errors in the diary but overall I was impressed with it :)
#309
Thanks Khris, I await your results :)

Tried that too, still had the same problem. I really can't understand it.

Looks like I'll have to just animate the background instead, although this will lead to a lot of problems.

Cheers anyway :)

Hi Khris...horizontly. When I run the game it's either what appears to be 1 pixel to the left or 1 to the right. Then of course I move the object 1 pixel forward or back in the editor and then it's too far to the direction I moved it....if that makes ANY sense lol.
#312
Cheers guys, it's very much appreciated.

However, the object image isn't exactly a quarter but either way I've made sure that the image has an even amount of pixels for both height and width and I STILL have the same problem.

Grrr....it's really bugging me now, lol.

An object I am using in one of the rooms is literally the bottom right quarter of the original background drawing but with some slight alterations - when the object is called this will create an animation-style effect.

However, despite being the original background drawing EXACT bottom right corner, the object seems IMPOSSIBLE to align up in AGS. It can appear fine in AGS itself but when I run the game the object is always slightly off.

I'm running the game at 800x600.

Any suggestions?

You might be better off downloading the full software demos such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas etc and building up a better idea of the software that you'd like to use.

SERIOUS ARTISTS & VOICE ACTORS REQUIRED FOR SERIOUS GAME PROJECT

"FALLEN LEGEND"

Synopsis:

After the death of his wife, Gary Hollows takes a vacation to Greece to escape the pain and loss. He chooses Kam Island in Greece - a small, quiet island not over-populated by tourists but deep in Greek mythology.

Gary befriends a local girl, Steph Golding, on the minute Greek island. On the first night of the holiday, Gary and Steph are thrown into a mystery of epic proportions when a local girl disappears whilst swimming off the coast.

Legend has it that an island two miles away holds many dark secrets. What's even more interesting is that this island isn't on any map.

Details:

- Thriller/Horror/Adventure/Mystery
- Gary is British
- This 'other' island is to basically be a main character in the game and should be visible in most background art on Kam Island
- Steph, although a local girl, is infact from America
- The mysterious island is called 'Thanatos', meaning 'DEATH' in Greek

Jobs On Offer/Requirements:

- I need background artists who can either create realistic looking, moody backgrounds in either ink, pixels or 3D. Broken Sword-style artwork is fine.
- I need someone who can create character sprites/animation in either ink, pixels or 3D. Again, Broken Sword-style is fine.
- Both Backgrounds and characters MUST be the same medium (either 3D, pixels or ink).
- I need professional-looking backgrounds and characters.
- 640x400 Resolution (or 800x600 if you prefer this)

- I'll also need voice actors for:

  - Gary Hollows (around 35 years old, British, English)
  - Steph Golding (around 25 years old, American)

Remember, this is a serious project so only contact me if you're serious and commited to seeing this project through.

We have a playable demo here: http://www.gamejelly.net/FL_Demo_v1.zip

PLEASE PM ME IF YOU'RE INTERESTED.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like kicking off when you're trying to focus all your concentration on the game you're designing and someone interupts with pathetic things like asking for you to do the lawn or asking you to go to the shop.
The solution is to not live with your parents.

I live with my wife and child.

I've searched on the forum but found no answers.

When I compile my game it doesn't compile the musicx files (i.e. music1.ogg, music2.ogg) etc. The files play fine when I excecute the game from AGS itself but upon trying to run it from the compiled folder I receive a warning that the music files weren't found.

When designing the game, I've been placing my musicx.ogg files in the actual folder created by AGS at startup - e.g. C:\Users\Darren\FL

(FL being my game folder)

What am I doing wrong?

Thankyou.

Does anyone else just feel like giving in because it's pointless trying to attempt to complete your game???

Is this based on the Bates Motel from Psycho?
