Portugal would be great but Croatia sounds just a bit more interesting to me. Depends on where we can find the best accomodations I suppose.

I am also flexible but would be better off with anytime after mid-June, but prefer closer to mid-summer.

Sorry to continue the trend, but it looks like I will have to drop out as well. For some reason airfare is about 30% more than I am used to paying, and work is beginning to slow for the next 8-10 weeks so probably best to hang back and go again next year. I barely scraped by last year for various reasons and don't want to repeat that experience again.

I'm pretty upset about it, but will do my best to benefit from taking a year off and see you all again in 2014. Have fun and enjoy yourselves everyone! I look forward to hearing about it.

I am going to be booking flights here in the next few days hopefully. Are there any plans for a day (or two)in Berlin afterwards? I see Cat and Bernhard are leaving Sunday evening. Anyone else interested in staying for the weekend?

Berian and I are landing a few days early so will have some sightseeing out of the way already, but I would like to maximise the time we have if possible

Is it well positioned for using the bicycles for more than country touring? I just had this menacing vision of the lot of us riding in a pack and cruising over a hill

Sure it has been almost three months, but I just remembered that I recorded some audio at Mittens. There are not as many files as the previous year, all the essentials are present though. I hope that they bring back many fond memories

I will be there! Somewhere semi-rural with easy access to attractions or an urban daytrip would be ideal. There seemed to be many times more options for a group our size in Germany than in any country I have researched so far, at least on Holiday Lettings and HomeAway. If it does not necessarily need to be in/near Berlin out options are quite plentiful it seems.

After a lovely drive up and a night spent at the Hotel Fiesta Backseat, I made it to San Francisco just fine and am now at SFO waiting for my flight to Minneapolis. Will hopefully be home in about 8 hours. Updates and possibly a photo or two tonight or tomorrow

For your packing information:

Does it have to be in December? I would very much love to go, but will be coming over to London for 3-4 weeks just after the New Year. Of course it wouldn't technically be AX2012, but is December a done deal?

Did you get priority tickets? If so, we can rest assured that we can get in.

Because of traffic concerns in the area we'll be going, I suggest we go out in the morning and visit Hollywood, so we will at least be in the area and have less of a chance of being caught in traffic and missing the show. LA's Thai Town is in the Hollywood outskirts. Pre-show lunch there?

No worries about that, I can come pick you guys up a bit sooner than Grundislav arriving about an hour later and driving from further away.

I think that leaves Snarky arriving at almost 7 to pick up, as well as the currently unknown Miez arrival. We can plan a shuttle service better once all the times are in.

RE: Craig Ferguson or Conan O'Brien tapings

Today I received confirmation for four tickets to a taping of Conan on Tuesday the 28th. Grundy tried to do the same but was not allocated any in the end. These tickets are guaranteed as long as we arrive before entry is closed.

We were a bit luckier with Craig Ferguson ticket requests, which is my preference of the two so I am quite excited for that! Between the two of us, we managed to get 8 ticket reservations for Wednesday the 29th. The catch is that they are not completely guaranteed because they slightly overbook the reservations, but we do have an edge. Apparently we were among the first to reserve, most likely because there are no guests posted yet, so our tickets are in a "priority" category. This means we will be able to check in a half hour before the General tickets are allowed to. At this point we are virtually guaranteed entry, but only if we arrive on time and do not miss the Priority admission times.

Who all is up for this? So far it looks like we have myself, Grundislav, Snarky, and Esseb who expressed interest. Shall we do both? Skip one in favour of the other?

Making the most of our time and the rental is fine by me. Personally I would like to visit the Natural History museum, a couple galleries, and do at least a beach or two. San Diego could be a good daytrip as well. We should still have plenty of time to enjoy the house and the pool in the morning and at night at the very least.
