Those dates look good for me as well, and are a comfortable distance away from the World Cup final *glares at Tier* :P

Wow, I have really been feeling the love the last two days :D thanks much guys.

I have just refunded everyone who actually did try to send me money. I admit I did check my balance this morning after seeing this thread out of curiosity, and was suprised later on to actually get Paypal notices of transfers to my account :P Very kind of you guys but I can't accept any of it.

Since I am doing fine on my own I would request any future gifts be made to some of my favourite non-profits:

Trees for Life (Australia)
Slow Food USA
Global Water

Use black outline!! Other than that, I find the artistic style to have developed even better than the first game. Looking forward to it.

You must be referring to the third screen with the yellow text? That shows up that way now because the dialogue portrait for the character had not been implemented yet. When it is, the text will show at the top of the screen against the black background the same way it does in the first screenshot.

Thanks for checking and your comments on the artistic style, although that goes to Tier really. He has done very well and produced quite a few interesting screens in record time :) As you may tell with the percentages I am having to play catch up with my side of things  :D

As someone who does not have or even want an iPhone, this product actually somewhat appeals to me in a strictly mobile sense.

I have never in my life owned any kind of mobile phone, never felt the need to be on the grid all day every day. Mobile internet would be handy though for traveling and just to not leave my addiction at home. Any kind of smartphone (which I would only ever use for mobile internet) would cost $70 at the very bottom of the monthly plan list, often with 2 year contracts. So $30 a month with the option to cancel with no penalty is really appealing for my [wants].

That said I believe I will skip this generation and wait for the inevitable versions with a webcamera and expandable memory, which going by some of these and comments on other sites it might be sooner than later.

A couple others I found the other day-

http://www.perugiaonline.com/anticaposta/ a "Hamlet" here, for 24 though :S

http://www.villafossi.com/holiday-homes-tuscany.html close to Florence apparently.

I'll likely be training to the closest station, no drives. Though I'm sure the cars we don't have coming we could all split for.

So far we had the possibility of third week-ish of June and late July into August with the last few replies pushing for the latter. To be more accurate lets say after sometime after 26 July (per Snarky who has a specific availability) through the first week of August as requested by Petter. Still looking possible is the third week of July from perhaps about 15 to 22.

It's looking like the best dates so far among these replies is 26 July to about 8 August, a two week window which should make looking for properties easier.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

Hi  :D

Now that January is nearly elapsed it seems like it is time to start discussing this thing again. While previous threads have gone on about where to hold the 2010 meetup and possible venues, regardless of where it is I think the next thing to discuss is when to hold it, which we can then use as a guideline for picking a place.

Last year was the odd year with Mittens being held toward the end of June rather than the late July/August that it normally was previously (I think due to property availability?) which seemed to be fine overall now that the majority of us are not studying or something as has been the case with many prior events. Perhaps everyone interested should state what times they are not available this summer and what their preferred timeframe would be if any.

For myself, once again this year I plan on doing another 6 or so week trip (which I am well-positioned to do more successfully this year than in other years :D) so I am flexible, though have a preference toward the latter half of summer as opposed to earlier on.

I like the idea of keeping cups for ratings, and making them a little different to distinguish panel ratings from the common people ratings :P

I'm not sure red is the way to go, it has a lot of negative connotation to it. It's as if the blue cups are about how good the game is, and the red ones how...evil the game is. Or something. So maybe green?

I would say orange is the way to go here. First, it is the proper contrast to blue, even more striking against blue than red, and it does not have the hostile reputation that red has. Additionally, it complements the link colour in the mockups, so it would be sexier and less messy looking than it they were red.

This is quite good spritework here, though I did do a little paintover to make the "black and white" element a little less ambiguous:

Photoshop and Imageready (phased out with CS3 :S)

Anything with layers would work better than MSPaint, though I admit to never using it for sprites :P

Yay even more cool stuff to look forward that year :D First hoverboards and hovercars, then $20 Pepsis, and now Defenders of the freaking Earth ^_^

What an exciting time it is to be alive :D

This was a very enjoyable game :D Lovely characters, and even the androids are adorable yet still menacing!

Also, congratulations on your leetness.

Oh I was only kidding :P Just seemed silly at the time.

Tier and I were just talking on MSN and realised you must be replaying, which we appreciate of course! You caught a lot of stuff we missed in testing the first time around and over a week later you are still helping us fix and update to new versions :)

We would be happy to have you test the new episodes if you like. Speaking of, I just completed the first animation for Distress. Tier has been busy whipping up new rooms too, and one almost needs two hands with which to count them already :D

Wow, I was completely off there. From the title I immediately thought you meant "(Fort) Hood: Survival Horror" :S

Anyways looks good, good luck with this. The backgrounds are nice, I could totally see a TMNT mod of this :P

Thanks. And here`s the next problem:

Spoiler
I can`t enter the door to the bridge. It opens now but it doesn`t stay opened. So the crewman doesn`t enter.

Yeah there are lots of malfunctions going on all over the ship. It is so bad there are even bits coming apart.

Oh I'm all for vaccines for whoever wants them, I have all the standard stuff floating around in my system and get the booster shots on schedule :D I just don't much like the idea of a media frenzy causing the kind of mass-mindset where getting one becomes mandatory for every new scare that pops up.

I take quite good care of myself in regards to washing up and avoiding or carefully using public things, as I am compelled to do by the mild  hypochondria, and prefer doing this rather than getting every new jab that is produced. I believe it promotes better hygiene and behaviour in the long run.
