It sounds as if your guitar would make a better heirloom than a source of quick cash. Based on how dearly you spoke of it, I wouldn't give it up, especially what it is listed at now.

A bit off-topic, but I was wondering how your mother uses this. Does she really shower with a bird? o_O

Quite interesting indeed. I love space games, though I'll have to play this late at night when everyone is asleep.

We join our intrepid crew as they return to New Trachtenberg for a simple little deal with the local lowlife (sorry, 'indigenous entrepreneurs').

New Trachtenberg? This indigenous entrepreneur wouldn't happen to Harriet the Spy, Mona, Wendy, or Dawn would they?

ah, AGS dreams :D I average a few a month I think, and thanks to MSN Messenger history I can share two of them-

I had a dream that it was Mittens V and a group of us (I only remember 2ma2 and jet) were out on a scavenger hunt that Nacho designed, the next item on the list was "Find and buy two bottle of Cava". I went for it, but I guess I left the group without telling anyone what I was doing.

I walked around the block and entered a shop ran by two spanish women, mother and daughter (I guessed). I couldn't find any Cava, but I picked up two Nesteas and then asked about the Cava at the counter. I know I probaly said this wrong, but I said "Puedo tomar dos botelas de Cava" but the daughter said "We do not have that here". I was getting frustrated because I wanted her to answer in spanish to my spanish, but she wouldn't. Then she took some coins out of her pocket and looked at her mom and said "Let me buy a drink for the student".

I ended up leaving without paying, and began looking for the group, but couldn't find them. Eventually I spotted them about 3 blocks down yelling "Disco! Where are you? Disco, where did you go!?"

The other one was more recent, and quite freaky-deaky-

Petteri, CJ, me, and a few others were driving around in a jeep and pulled up to an ice fishing shanty on the shore of a lake, we took our bags in and began to set up what I guessed to be the Mittens camp, and while doing so noticed several aquatic creatures laying on the ice, one of which was a talking squid. It was kind of mean and sarcastic, and at some point in our conversation its tentacles were severed.

We decided that it was traitorous and agreed to get revenge on it by throwing it on top of some rock or hill or something. Someone said we could throw it better if we tied the pieces of severed tentacles back on the squid, and I think I noticed it died during this, but the piece I was trying to tie to had some nerves still active and kept moving. I eventually thought that the piece was too thick to tie, so I cut it in half with a pen in hopes that it would be easier to tie.

When cutting it open I noticed there were a few pieces of some valuables were in there, and even a note that said "no teeth?" and we thought this was some type of smuggling, I heard a noise from outside and went out the door and around the front and saw three boats docking with about 5-6 people each holding automatic weapons. I was afraid but could only say "Hi....Hello" and went back in.

I told the everyone that we to leave right then. We left our bags and tents and ran out to the jeep. Petteri and I were arguing over who should drive since CJ didn't want to, and he ended up forcing me to jump in the back. All I could think about during our getaway was that I was still in Europe for a few days and wished I had my bag with me because it had my plane ticket, passport, and spare socks.

Thanks for the tip Adam :D I'll get to see Mr. Scruff, I'll miss the others though  :-\, they are playing the first day.

EDIT- wow! I guess the first night has some heavy hitters then. Everyone seems astounded by that night's lineup  ;)

Hey there  :D

Straight after Brittens this summer I will be attending the second day (July 23) of the Lovebox Weekender electronic music festival in London. Are there any AGSers planning on going? I would be willing to meetup were that the case.

The main attraction for me is Jamiroquai, who are headlining the second and final night (I've seen them in Detroit and Chicago, and look foreward to a performance where they have homefield advantage :P) The first night is headlined by Groove Armada, but I am busy that day  ::). A list of other acts can be found at www.loveboxweekender.co.uk.

Any takers?

Back to the crit... perhaps you should have the hair growing between the first and last frames, or have the hair consistent throughout the animation. Both would be acceptabe ammendments :D.

I lost a great friend once because she got influenced by 7th day adventists and had to "follow what God told her" and ended up as a radical person.

I have experienced this heart-breaking situation too, losing my best friend to radicalism. I won't get into details, as it hurts to talk [write] about it,  but I will say that he dissappeared for a year in which he fell in with some dangerous (thought admittedly non-violent) people. I was forewarded this link by a concerned mutual friend, and article about one of the things he was getting up to.

A Time For War

These days I'm just not radical enough to be his friend  :-\.

What I mean to say is that I never got the impression that Jesus wanted his teachings to be put into effect on a government level, or in other words, he didn't want governments passing laws that FORCED people to keep his doctrine.
By keeping the law of God personally, I'm speaking of disciplining yourself to keep it, not wanting or allowing the government to do it for you, and everybody else.
Wow, I couldn't agree more. When it is forced by theocracy I believe christian practices are under taken for the wrong reasons. I've heard some argue that you should be christian "just in case", "I'd rather be safe than sorry", things like that. How week must you be in your faith to base it on that?

I hope it doesn't come to that with me.

Don't worry, you won't know about it. They will just make a nickname for you between themselves and talk about your satanist ways at their network church. :P

1.  I don't think the problem is as deep rooted as most think. It seems this way because the current administration was just barely elected the past two elections. Actually, the Democrats won the 2000 election by individual vote, but Republicans took the House via electoral college, and in 2004 they won by a very small margin. The reason why all these religious articles are permeating our politics is because right now there is really only one voice putting things out in the media. Was it nearly as bad when Clinton was president?

2.  Not because it is bible-based, no. However I do believe some things in there aren't inherently christian, yet just plain common sense. A lot of people who think certain concepts are christian-based  obviously never took a good look at other cultures or holy books. I've honestly known people who were against gay marriage "because [marriage] is a christian practice", like they invented it or something  :-\.

3.  I believe in older civilisations they intertwined naturally becasue most were theocracies. I don't believe an American theocracy will ever happen. I firmly believe that slowly but surely the threat is exiting stage right (XD)

4.  I would feel more pressure to try and move. Though Michigan and other states by themselves are nice and there are many good and sane people here, I've been wanting to move to someplace that's a bit more my speed (liberal), but you have to be either independently wealthy or marrying someone for a green card, and I am neither of those kinds of people.

I'm certain that they would shun proper lodging for a free stay on the airport floor. Magintz and I are looking at changing our reservation to check out a day early and greet them at the airport. I just hope I can get over my fear of sleeping at an airport, don't be surprised if I wake up screaming ;).
#632
What happens the night you arrive? It will be almost 11pm before we leave the airport. Do you guys plan on staying the night in Barcelona? or are we hiring the van and going to Benidorm in the wee hours? Magintz and I are booked at Centric Hostel, with check out currently the morning of the 16th, which can be ammended if necessary.
#633
Aw, I was hoping to help out with the driving, but I'll only be a mere 24.16 years old by that time :( I'll have to battle Matt for the position of navigator, or maybe I can just be on tactical duty :-\.

Magintz, it was â,¬74.99 before fees. They charged me â,¬7.50 booking fee because I paid with a Mastercard credit card, but if you have a Visa debit card they only charge â,¬1.50.

Count me in the van please, I've got a single from Barcelona to Luton:

I am hearing more people going direct to Alicante anyways. Petteri, Grundislav (will), Becky and Adam are skipping out on Barcelona.

Something that has bugged me about the Playstation era of Final Fantasy games is that I have to sit and watch a 4 minute movie every time I want to summon in battle. "Yay, here comes the cyber-dragon to save us...no wait, it has to come from the moon first...okay it's almost here. Now it has to flap it's wings for a minute... okay NOW! [b00m]"  :-\. In 4 it is instant compared to 7 and 8. Those games' summoning materia annoyed me to the point where I just wanted to do physical attacks.

Cecil (I named him Azrael) had with his best friend Kain (I named him Joshua).
Rydia (I named her Illyria)

As you probably guessed I am quite fond of custom naming my FF characters. Ones I remember from 7 are:

Cloud > Maurizio
Tifa > Hatori
Barrett > Roger (:o)
Yuffie > Isis
Cid > Orion
Cait Sith > Harold
Red XIII > Yaruba

The early later (???) games in the series are okay, but I much prefer the NES and SNES titles, my most favourite being IV. The story had me gripped in bits, as I could relate to the rollercoaster friendship Cecil (I named him Azrael) had with his best friend Kain (I named him Joshua).

Favourite Final Fantasy Game : IV
Favourite character of that game: Between Rydia (I named her Illyria) and Palom/Parom
Favourite location: The Moon!
Most memorable event: Probably Mt. Ordeal, and missing the "Spoony Bard" line :P

Personally, I think there should be a vote to see if we even want CJ at this year's Mittens.

I say we keep him. Why not if it's going to be crowded enough with the merger and all? We were looking at about 30, but if the communities integrate well enough before August we'll easily be looking at 50+ in Benidorm :o AI AI AI!

Quote from: Ishmael on Sat 01/04/2006 12:33:18
No. CJ is usually dead serious when it comes to stuff like this. Or atleast he wouldn't go to so much trouble to prank us. He's a lazy bum. Only does what's neccesary.

Agreed. Quakers don't celebrate this day. He's not kidding.

Seriously, why are people so against this? I see mostly new members apalled, though in theory it should be easier for them to change over, since they are not as used to how AGS is/was as the older members. Personally, I am looking forward to getting my game out faster now that I don't have to animate in 2D.

Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Re: DCittens?

Tempting, but I wouldn't dare spending any more money or taking any more time off :D

Of course everyone thinks where they live would be best, but I think a good spot for an Amerittens would be Michigan, since central Ontario, Cananda and it's dense AGSer population is a mere 3-4 hours away. However, it looks like the central to lower east-coasters are meeting up, so why not D.C. I will try to arrange some kind of "-ittens in the Mitten" eventually ;)

Bring comfier inflatable beds though!

Argh, yes. People, don't use swimming pool inflatables as beds.

You sissies! Last year I slept the first few days with only a thin tarp between me and the dirt! the latter part of the week I slept prone (::)) on the sandy beach.

At Brittens I'll likely be forced to sleep on (probably wet) grass. Toughen up and rough it guys! It builds character :D
