General Discussion / Re: Smokefree Workplaces
Wed 15/02/2006 21:32:01
I would love for Michigan to pass this law. The environment can get quite smokey at the brewpub I work at, and I don't see that as fair that a patron gets to decided that I live a few minutes less each time they smoke. I agree that the right to smoke stops when it hurts others, that is a good point Scummbuddy.

A good portion of my friends smoke, and that causes problems when we go out, becasue they demand smoking sections and tell me I should not care. I've even been yelled at for looking like I was uncomfortable or waving smoke away; "GEEZ GOD!! I"M %^&*ING SORRY!! It's not like I'm trying to let my smoke drift near you!! Okay, SHUT UP!"

Wow, now that I've typed that I realise some people I hang out with are really irrational and defensive Ã, :-\.

Disco: Nice start.. almost "Comic book" style looking for now, but that's a good thing (hey, I used to collect comix)  ;)

Thanks Barbarian :). It means a lot that you say it has a comic style, because that's precisely what I was going for. In fact, the finished art will be penned and inked in that style :D.

Hey there :D

I will share some sketches from Miko and the Bogus Maladies. My scanner is one of the all-in-one dealies, and it won't let me choose what filetype to save as, so I have to save two for a post modification :(. Anyways...

First, the second concept of the protagonist himself: Miko! yay!

The following are taken from the story board of the prologue cutscene-

And finally (until EDIT ;)), a background sketch :O-

those are big, eh? pardon

I don't want to accidentally delete my files with a single click.

Or perhaps MIDI  :D.

I'm glad this has been brought up, as I didn't know what the expectations of the family men were. You can't really know what Mittens is like from reading a few threads :P. I could scarcely imagine a 2-3 year old being present at about 97% of Mittens 2005.

Especially considering that one of the main Mittens activities is eating children, we don't want to have to sacrifice members of the attendees' families.

Nah, they would have been safe with me. I only eat soy children.

This debate came like wildfire because many people here are hostile towards morality in general.
Where are you getting this rharpe? I would like you once and for all to define morality. I just don't see how not being Christian or religious makes a person immoral.

I always find it humorous when people tell me what my intentions are, when they have no clue!
(I find humour in that as well, right here and now to be specific :D.) I imagine I would say something like this to Paul Harvey should I ever meet him. I breaks my heart to believe that someone can hear a few things about me or anyone really, and from that have a detailed opinion of them without taking the time to really understand/meet them.

August 23-28th means CJ will have to choose between Mittens and his friend's wedding. I would hate to be him in that situation  :-\.

Sorry to drag this thread back up but I've just found out I've got a friend's wedding on Saturday 26th.

Personally, I would prefer mid-August over the last week of August, and I hear other people prefer that too.

The week commencing the 28th would cut into many people's learning experiences (for me the 28th is either the day before or day of my first class...but I don't care :P)
well, I care a little bit actually.

Oh how I love these podquests ^_^. However...

I don't think there needs to be an entire song played during the intro. If I'm the only one that think's that though I'll shut up :P

Hey! Is there a tuna contest going on? What is this? What are the rules? I don't see anything relating to tuna  :-\. I'll enter anyways, hope this is what you had in mind-

Nice. I'd just like to point out that in the fourth screenshot, Homer is seen both on the monitors (Sector 7-G no doubt :P) and in Burns' office  :o.

Yay, those dates work out splendidly for me, exactly what I was hoping for :). Brittens would end about 3 weeks before Mittens starts, so there should be no extreme AGSer exposure for anyone ;).

But you can still hear the download adress if you play AGSPodQuest#13.mp3 backwards. It's in the 6th minute of the show.

I'm not hearing it jet. Should I be listening six minutes in from the backwards version, or six minutes from the end (i.e.-first six minutes normally)? ??? ???

Is this now definite? If so, do you mean the week commencing 21st or 28th August?

The week commencing the 28th would cut into many people's learning experiences (for me the 28th is either the day before or day of my first class...but I don't care :P), so perhaps a mid-week start and end date are in order, perhaps Wednesday (16th-23rd)? Mid-week is usually cheaper anyways.

I've just found out I've got a friend's wedding on Saturday 26th

CJ, that would give you a few days before the wedding in case you have to take back your tuxedo after a week of feasting on oil-heavy cuisine :P.

I am a Hand-Raiser o/
You are 38% Rational, 73% Extroverted, 8% Brutal, and 41% Arrogant.

"You tend to be rather gentle and less arrogant than most people (^_^). So what is your defect, then? Well, you're boring." :( I'm gonna cut loose with that 8% brutality  >:(

I think this is mostly accurate, there weren't many cool clothes (the only kind I wear) to choose from :(. I'm guessing Germany is barren of Old Navy stores?

EDIT- Mr. Hyde, is that Kirk Hammett?

Maybe so, but if Brittens is held in Wales, we get to stay in AGAs' mansion.

And not tents.  :-\

Providing he still wants weirdos at  his house. I know I would(n't).

He says I have to sleep in a tent in the garden :'(.

I will do my darndest to be there!

Also, we really need to sort out a date for Mittens so that we don't have Brittens too close to it.

Yeah, I hear you there. Last I heard Mittens was the last week of August, and I hope Farlander takes that quite literally as August 21-28, as I will miss my first two class periods of that semester if any later than that  :-\.

I wish to attend Brittens this summer. Around mid-July is good for me, as I will be in Europe for 4-5 weeks up until Mittens. Any earlier and I may need to save loads more money (If couch surfing is out of the equation :P)
