Here is what I got for christmas:

- Wireless optical mouse (I saved the ball from my old mouse as a memento of the nine years we spent together)
- 'Home Improvement' season 1 DVD
- Logitech headphones w/microphone (which does not work with my on-board audio. Rats!)
- gloves
- York Peppermint Patties

Most importantly, this is what I gave:

- the new Nirvana boxset for my brother
- Seinfeld DVD re-giftset and some washcloths for my dear old Mum
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical CD, Avenue Q soundtrack, and the Streets "A Grand Don't come for Free"CD plus a $25 Barnes & Noble giftcard for my sister.

Now, while I'll leave that kid poop alone, I'm curious what his gift total will be in 5 years.

Spoiler
Use the brick on the spray paint can, then talk to the BB Gun game guy to get a hint on how to use the resulting inventory item.

General Discussion / Re: Dying Words
Mon 15/11/2004 04:53:47
When Babar mentioned the green blob thing from Quest for Glory 1, he likely meant the spokesperson for the Meeps (Or perhaps spokesmeep?)

As for dying words:

Violet - commonly used by artists, but rare in the USA. Even the code to make that violet used the word purple. Hmph!!

Beta-carotene

Stockings

Disco - long forgotten by everone except me, seems like

Goél,
That was a joke concerning MrMasse's avatar being HAL9000 from "2001: A Space Odyssey". HAL9000 was a computer that was able to control everything on the ship he was on. I won't spoil it for you, but if you watch it you will understand why not to trust a HAL9000. It's also a lyric from the Beastie Boy's Song "The Grasshopper Unit". When Athirwen began to question QuantumRich's motives of having a 'Proof Reading' skills button beneath his avatar, I posted that seemingly perfect joke about not trusting before finding out the question I thought was directed toward MrMasse was actually for QuantumRich.

QuoteQuantumRich, I couldn't help but notice something funny, on your little skills button list thingy under your avatar, under proof reading you've put "misakes" instead of "mistakes". I was wondering whether you were going for irony or it was a genuine mistake.

Quote

Never trust a HAL9000.

The Rumpus Room / Re: How did you find AGS?
Thu 23/09/2004 16:23:50
I found AGS in 2002 while searching for Quest for Glory fan pages. I found Hero6 and AGDI first, then finding out AGDI used AGS I came here, lurked for 1 1/2 years and finally became a member last february.

I wish I knew why Disco is my forum name. All that I can guess is that I named myself that after Bis made disco cool again....not that it ever wasn't, of course.

I made a mistake netmonkey, I checked Expedia.com for a flight from Detroit to London in April 2005 (for some reason I thought Brittens was April instead of June) and it was between $1900-2100. Since April 2005 was the furthest I could check, I looked at July 2004 prices for Detroit to Brisbane and it was around $1100-1300. We won't know until probably October what the real prices will be, I was just doing a little recon.

I could have feasibly went to mittens this year for $300, but, while I'm an adventure game enthusiast, my experience with AGS is zero(well, except for that 2 room, 8 color background game with Roger as the main character). I though I should wait until I have something to show/talk about to attend Mittens, and I most definitely will by next summer.

I'm looking forward to going to my first Mittens next year. Living in Michigan, I thought it would cost less to just go to Brittens 2005. Assuming Brittens is in June and Mittens in July, going to Australia would actually cost a few hundred less for the flights I checked.

Hello everyone! Disco here to offer splendid services-

Playtesting
I would be delighted to play test any AGS game. Beta testers have always been a target of my envy, especially those testing games I have waited for years to be released. I have a P4 2.4 ghz with 1024 mb RAM and an eVGA e-GeForce FX 5500 with 128 DDR.

Proof Reading
Excellent spelling is one of my greatest personal assets. I continuously received 100 percent on spelling tests throughout school. As for grammar, I am in my last week of Business Communication 100 at university and have actually unlearned everything I learned in high school that turned out to be wrong.

Story Design
As far back as I can remember, I have had a bounty of ideas for original video games, television shows, books, movies, etc. and would love to bring them to the development table. My ideas range from comedic to emotional and can be adapted to most situations.

I have just begun to storyboard "the Asinine Allstars!", my real-life-inspired debut game on AGS, but earnest production is still a few weeks off, so time is not an issue. If I can be of assistance, email me at discojkay@yahoo.com
