I stopped by my local EBgames on the way home from work today and picked up Syberia and Broken Sword for 20 bucks each for Xbox.Ã,  I haven't even played them yet, because i want to dedicate Sunday as Console Adventure Gaming Day.

I'm looking forward to it, and has anybody else here played these games yet, and what are your opinions on them.

Oh, and by the way, i bought Stupid Invaders on Ebay for the Dreamcast the other day and won't get it for a couple of weeks.Ã,  How is this game also?

Nothing beats playing an adventure game on your TV set.

I have Escape from Monkey Island PS2 version, but yet to finish it.

Thank You,

Shawn

General Discussion / This is truly strange
Sun 23/05/2004 00:40:45
I was browsing Ebaums world when i saw a link for Magic.Ã,  There was a magic trick that i decided to try out, and for some reason worked every time and kind of creeped me out, because it worked everytime.Ã,  How the **** does this thing know what number i'm thinking of.Ã,  Here's a link for people to check out.

I found this kind of strange because everytime i tried it, it was always correct. How the heck does it know?

There may be some pop-ups, which i'm sorry for.

I am seriously gonna work on a game this time, but these are the first 2 screenies i have of the game.Ã,  When i'm working on them, my mind goes blank and i don't know what else to do. I trust my AGS friends to help me improve these screens.

note: i haven't finished the second BG.  The windows i could not figure how to look right.

Well, i've been playing MYST 3: Exile on my PS2, and i'm wondering if anybody would consider this an adventure game, since you're pretty much pointing and clicking in a make believe world solving puzzles.

Also, how many people really liked this series despite its almost impossible puzzles.

I have to say it feels like an adventure game, and i'm enjoying every minute of it. But i'm always looking to a strategy guide because i am having the hardest time figuring out the obscure puzzles the game presents.

I'm hoping this is in the right forum, because i think it's adventure game related, otherwise, please move it to the gen forum.

I would like to hear any input on the MYST games.

General Discussion / Your Internet Connection
Sun 01/02/2004 03:17:05
Well, i did a search, and pretty sure this was never asked before. But I am wondering what all my fellow AGS members use for an internet connection.

I just switched from dial-up to DSL (Digital Subscriber Line), and holy crap, what a difference.

dial-up seems so, one milliion year's ago.

Critics' Lounge / Line Drawing
Sun 04/01/2004 01:05:14
Here is a drawing i did late at night laying in bed. It was drawn on notebook paper, so thats why there is a line going through it.  There is another sketch to the far left that i happened to draw over while drawing this. Just wanted to see how people liked this.

it was supposed to be a creepy, evil tree, but with that smile, i'm thinking he might be a friendly character.

General Discussion / SIM's Fans Out There?
Thu 27/11/2003 04:23:04
I know i can't be the only one who loves the Sims in this forum. If you are a Sims fan, which expansion packs do you own?, and also if you own the console version of the Sims. Also how do you like to kill your sims, which i never do, i swear. That would be cruel.

ok, one sec, i have a sim to lock in a room alone.

General Discussion / Hard Drive?
Sun 23/11/2003 06:01:06
since i went from a 4 GB hard drive to a 37 GB hard drive, i want to know what hard drive you have. Plus, did you have any problems when putting it in. (i.e. adding software, games and such)

its a pain to have to install everything again, unfortunatly , my computer can't handle 2 hard drives.

even though this game has been around for a decade, and games now adays kick its ass, who here still goes back and plays DOOM? I must admit that i do, and enjoy it as much as i did when it first came out. Let me know if you do, and your most memorable DOOM moment.

PC or Console, it doesn't matter.

if the AGS forums were to turn into an episode of Seinfeld, which character would you be from the show & why?

i would be George. I am not short & stout, but i seem to act like George.

Also, please feel free to name your favorite episode.

General Discussion / SHENMUE fans?
Thu 02/10/2003 02:38:55
okay, i am trying to find out if there are any Shenmue Fans out there. If you don't don't know what Shenmue was, it is so far a 2 chapter game for the Sega Dreamcast (part 2 on X-box also), which in my opinion was probably the best 2 games ever made.

I have both Shenmue 1 and 2, and would like to know if anybody else out there also has the same passion for the series as i do, and who would like to see Shenmue 3. (if it ever gets made). As an avid gamer, i have to say the the Shenmue games probably are the best console games ever. please let me know.

Critics' Lounge / A BG for you to see

here are some screens  from a game i started on, but scrapped the idea for something better. I am going in a whole new direction now, but can you give me some C+C about these screens, so i can use it to improve my graphics in my new game.

It seemed too Kings Quest for me, and want to do something more in an original style.

General Discussion / Cars
Sun 14/09/2003 23:18:06
i am always curious what kind of cars people drive. I would like to know what AGS users cars are. If you own a car, tell me what it is. I have a 1997 Chevy Lumina with 104,000 miles.

General Discussion / Kings Quest on NES
Sat 13/09/2003 03:21:31
I am trying to think back, but i believe there was a version of Kings Quest on the Nintendo Entertainment System.  I recall that Kings Quest 5 was ported to the machine, but i can't remember. If anybody knows or even has any screen shots, that would be appreciated.  I also think i saw screen shots that looked nothing like the computer version of the game. Forgive me, when i think about it, it all seems to be a blur. Thanks

this was a box set of all Kings Quest games plus a few extras that Sierra released a couple of years ago. I was wondering who else bought this collection. It is always great to go back and play KQ1 on a modern computer. I bought it back in 2000, and still enjoy every minute of it. Does anyone else here own this amazing collection?

Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Monkey Island
Sun 31/08/2003 02:40:41
Just wanted to know who thinks Curse of Monkey Island is better than the so-called 3-D Escape from Monkey Island?
I think Curse is the better game, with way better graphics (in my opinion). ;)
