Looks like AGS is kicking some butt in the Best Freeware Development Tool category.

Kinoko is also under the Most Promising Freeware Programmer.

I liked it up until the end. This MIDI reminds me of music from the Shenmue games. Something you would hear when entering a shop or something.

I'm not a music expert, but it was gentle on my ears.  :)

An example for me would be Gold Rush. I was amazed at the graphics in this game when it first came out. Most young gamers today who play Gold Rush would probably vomit from the graphics. But to this day, even after playing it again not that long ago, i was still impressed. I don't know, it just seems to bring me back to a simpler time of gaming, when it was just you and the game. Now it's all about multiplayer, super graphics and amazing 3D technology.  I agree that todays games can be a work of art (ICO), but so can games that came out 15 or more years ago. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and Gold Rush and all AGI games are beautiful to me, blocky graphics and all.

he he, LimpingFish beat me to it.  :)

Looks like that person in the wheelchair is about to end up on the floor. Was that person actually disabled or just some rocker having fun?

I love the KQ3 style graphics. I find nothing wrong with them. High Res, Low Res, it doesn't matter. I love today's graphics in games, but theres nothing wrong with a little bit of nostalgic graphic style to bring a smile to my face.

Happy 22nd Birthday InCreator, you little whippersnapper. I'll be turning 33 next month on Feb. 6th. Can somebody please stop the aging process? I don't want to get any older.  :(

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory would make a great adventure game. Plus it would be fun to create the colorful backgrounds and characters.

Then you could explore the whole factory on your own and see what Mr. Wonka was up to, or maybe drink a little of that Fizzy Lifting Drink stuff.

Maybe, i should do this instead.  :)

I have Animal Crossing for the GC, but i cheated by always changing the date everytime i played. But, i liked designing my own clothes and umbrellas.

I am thinking about buying it for the DS, when i actually buy the DS.

Just find any decent drawing program and mess around with it. Practice drawing with the mouse (or tablet) and keep trying and trying. Even if you don't have any artistic skills, just practice. Believe in yourself.  Try producing a small room and show it in the critics lounge. Their will be people there to assist and help you to improve.

I think everybody has an artistic side to them. It just takes time to bring it out.

General Discussion / Re: FPS Creator
Wed 04/01/2006 20:40:58
I have to agree with Boyd. It has so much potential but just falls flat on its face. You could possibly make a very small FPS game with it, but no matter what you are gonna have some serious lag.

I tried making the smallest levels with maybe a couple of enemies and objects, and no matter what i would always get some really bad lag in areas where the frame rate took a massive dump.

I purchased the EA version (Early Adapter) and then received the Full Version 1 free because i was an EA user. I used to tinker with the program all of the time, and then realized i am never gonna make a Doom 3 or Halo type game with this engine.

Oh yeah, they never included a save game option either. What kind of crap is that. (meaning people playing your finished games cannot save during the game and have to start over every time they play)

Blah, Pass on it.

Happy New Year Ishmael, and to all AGS forum members. Keep producing all of your wonderful games. Mine won't start until the year 3000.

I think the game was called Little Jonny Evil. I'm not sure. I played it many moons ago.
