General Discussion / Re:SHENMUE fans?

yes, that 70 man battle at the end of Shenmue 1 was a finger killer.  :)

As for the second one, the ending was also a shock to me too.  Once inside the cave, i was expecting more, then all of a sudden, the credits rolled.  :(

come on, there is alot more depth to those 2 games than that cartoon.  Have you even played them? Once played, you will certainly have a different opinion of them.  :)

General Discussion / SHENMUE fans?
Thu 02/10/2003 02:38:55
okay, i am trying to find out if there are any Shenmue Fans out there. If you don't don't know what Shenmue was, it is so far a 2 chapter game for the Sega Dreamcast (part 2 on X-box also), which in my opinion was probably the best 2 games ever made.

I have both Shenmue 1 and 2, and would like to know if anybody else out there also has the same passion for the series as i do, and who would like to see Shenmue 3. (if it ever gets made). As an avid gamer, i have to say the the Shenmue games probably are the best console games ever. please let me know.

I am not sure if Disneyland Paris has Pirates of the Carribean, but i know for sure that both Disneyland (California) and Walt Disney World (Florida) have the ride.

Lego people always seem to say 'PARTY-TIME', they are always so great to see.  I just hope a naked Lego-Girl doesn't pop out of the cake. That would be scary.

tell the school to rename the media room after you and give you a free computer. Or if all else fails, contact a lawyer and sue for emotional distress.

(sarcasm implied)  :)

i like it, but one question??

Where is floor #13??

it seems to be missing from the elevator. Is it a secret floor? Does it have anything to do with being unlucky? Just curious.

yes, i remember seeing that movie clip a couple of months ago, it was and still is really funny.

That will probably haunt him forever (maybe in a good way, who knows).  Everybody should check it out.

p.s. due to my crappy dial-up connection, it was really slow and choppy, but i could at least see some of it.

that MP3 had a nice beat to it, until some guy starting singing over it. It sounded like some porno soundtrack on high speed. If that song was playing over and over in an adventure game, i would have to turn my speakers off.

They look incredible. You really did a great job on those backgrounds and everything else. Don't stop and keep up the great work. It definitely has a Commercial look to it. Hope to play it soon.  :)

how about giving us a list of what mappomedia industries has done, or maybe some screen shots our something we can work with. Are you purposely taking us on a wild goose chase here? It seems this may just be a ploy to get attention, and that's all. Heck i want to believe what you have to say, but as far as the facts, i got nothing to believe in. Go play in a sand box or something.

i couldn't stop looking at those. Especially the first set with the rotating snakes, but then i felt kind of dizzy. hmm, weird. Cool optical illusions.

btw, the screen with the fountain never got completed, i gave up on it because i didn't like it. I was just bored one night and starting drawing a screen.  I am using PC Paintbrush, which i bought 10 years ago, and is quite good for drawing backgrounds though. It has some nifty features, most which i haven't used. I just use the line tool most often.

Very nice, very nice indeed. I love the sun and how it makes the sky such an eerie red. It has a nice atmosphere to it, and would love to see more.

i went a little crazy with the gradients, that is probably one reason i'm going to start over from scratch. Plus probably in a higher resolution. I have an idea of what i want to do in my head, but i really don't know how to portray them on the screen. I am doing sketches in a notebook and then will get back to doing new backgrounds. So, thanks for the input everyone.  :)

here are some screens  from a game i started on, but scrapped the idea for something better. I am going in a whole new direction now, but can you give me some C+C about these screens, so i can use it to improve my graphics in my new game.

It seemed too Kings Quest for me, and want to do something more in an original style.
