Reasons not to use 800x600:

- It's hard to create good art for most people, since low-res is considered "easier" to create...
- When you want to use 32-bit alpha-blended surfaces it can slow down (which is not likely to be necassary for a "normal" adventure game)...

That's about it, if you can create good looking art and not use "extreme" technical features, then it's as fine as any other resolution.

The correct term would be "to comment out" instead "to mute" or "to block out" and the signs to comment a chunk of code out are "/*" and "*/". Put them before and after the chunk and see what happens... :)

True.

I created a new room 4 and simply changed the NewRoom function in Room 2 to move the player to room 4 and he was there. No problem.

Also deleting the walkable area didn't do any good in room 3, so it pretty much has to be corrupted...

Nice work with the story and the gui though... ;)

I managed to download it now and... well, I'm puzzled. This is seriously wierd if I don't oversee something obvious.

Your link seems broken, but are you sure you haven't ticked the "Hide Player Character" option for your room 3?

Also, you could copy all your room script code and create a new room and paste it there...

With AGS 2.7 you could also use floats.

Simply add 0.0000001 to the score instead of 1 and you will be able to have 1000000x higher numbers, I think...

I say it's not necessary because you can always hover the mouse over the room and take the coordinates and put those coordinates in the character starting point boxes. That works 100% accurately and is rather easy and quick to do.

NEW VERSION

I added a new track similar to the first one.

Please visit my page and listen to the new track (or both of them if you haven't heard the first one yet).

The link is: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/jansimon_music.htm!

Thank you.

Look the "PlayMovie ( ... )" function up in the manual.

Welcome to the forums, by the way.

Simply look the "StartCutscene ( int type )" and "EndCutscene ( )" functions up in the manual...

If you have any trouble understanding the definitions and explanations in the manual then come back and ask again...

I decided to not join this discussion and I will stick to that decision, but I just had to point this little mistake out...

:) Thanks, Helm. I know I'll have to keep working on the rhythm...

Don't know why I put 'Progresive Rock' in there, it was the style I was aiming for... :)

Thanks for the tips though, I'll return once I have something better!

I recently saw a game like that on ebaumsworld and I have to say this version you posted here is even more fun...

Those games have potential...

*going to play some more while having a really tight schedule*

Thanks for the reply, you are most right. It was about 2am in the morning when I recorded that, so forgive me for that... ;)

Usually I should be able to record everything in correct tempo, I will do that tomorrow and let you know of the new version.

I am just in the process of learning to create and write solos and I've been writing/playing way better solos than this one.

I basically just tried out my new Ibanez RG guitar to see how it sounds when recording...
