Oh. I see what you mean. Sorry for that...

Your explanation is correct, Ashen, I once scripted a gui like this.

Wait, where in 7 Days A Skeptic does Yahtzee hightlight any characters, hotspots and objects?

Must've missed that...
#2003
Absolutely, but it would be very slow using the Raw functions...

Hmm. Sounds very interesting though...

Doesn't look too bad, but I have some questions...

- Why did you post links to the screenshots? You can use the [ img ] tag and have them directly in your post!

- Do you really think, that 52 minutes of original electronic music is necessary for such a project?  :o

- Silly is maybe not the best name idea, I suggest changing that, but I guess it's a question of opinion.  ;)

- Can you give more information on story? I mean, the story should be atleast so long that it can not be written in one tiny sentence.

- What you describe at the end is called BETA-testing, why don't you just say "Beta testers needed" - that'd be way easier.  :=

- What do you mean with "Where can I find sites to put a link to the game?"  ???

- Why do you put &'s in your post?

One suggestion for your graphics - get rid of the white outline in your sprites - don't use anti-aliasing at the edges of your sprites...

How does the game crash? Any error messages? Are you sure that this command is the problem?

Please be a little more descriptive!
#2006
There is an action adventure already out there, which uses just the idea that you described, Ashen. I can't put my finger on that name though...

Awesome! Pulp fiction rocks! ^^

Your image does not show up!

I just downloaded. It's not bad, but you left the debug mode on!

The puzzles seem pretty hard, I didn't manage to break out yet.

But it's a good game, I like it.

When you cycle through the games, make sure to include 5days and 7days.

Thank you very much, increator, I will definately learn a lot from your suggestions.

About that table: I originally drew it too high above the ground and then got tired of drawing it all over again, so I just shifted it's position down. Of course, I knew that that would screw up the perspective big time, but I am soo lazy... ^^ It should be the only thing out of perspective though!

Thank you!

I am working on "PONG Extended" at the moment. That version will feature:

- Different difficulties!
- Power-Ups (Rockets, Shields, Paddle Enlargers ^^ )
- Sound!
- You can actually aim the ball now!
- Maybe also computer AI!

Thank you.

1) The black takes up too much screen
2) The shading looks weird.
3) What is that space above the computer?

1) Hmm... I use this black space a lot as you can see to add details I could not paint inside the room ( like the vehicle in the second room, I couldn't paint it with colors and everything ), that's why there's a lot of it. Well, some people like it, some not, it's a question of taste, I guess, but I'll work on that and make it smaller the next time!

2) Could you describe what exactly you mean? Do you mean the sading in the walls? I am not too happy with it myself, but I thought it's better than having just flat colored walls. Give me some tips how to do walls better!

3) A window in the wall as often seen in those police offices in the 70ties or so, you are right, goél. It does not look quite like it I have to admit. It just lacks detail I guess.

McCrea: Thanks to you, too. I'll look into your suggestions and keep you up to date...

Hello,

I was trying to find a graphical style that will allow me to realise some of my planned projects. Therefore it needed to be good-looking of course but also time-sparing ( I can't spend two weeks for one background )...

Now I played around with combining Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop 7 and I kinda got a style, but I don't know if it's really good enough for adventure game projects.

I mean it is rather quick ( 2 hours per background ) and everything, but I am just not sure if I should really go with that style for future games. That is basically why I am posting. Of course you can also give advice on those screens if you like...

Here are the screens:

Both screens are double-sized (originally 320x200 and use less than 100 colors)!

Allright, I always wondered what security danger would be there with just using subdir's...

EDIT: Sorry for that, anyways. I'm tired...
#2016
Wait. I might be wrong here, but I thought AGS was supposed to not be able to open files from any other directory than the one with the game file in it? For security reasons?

Completed Game Announcements / PONG Clone

Hey everybody,

I just finished a small freetime-project - a pong clone.
The first ever with AGS as far as I know.
Anyways, I put 2 whole hours of work into it...

Check it out at http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=549...

I know this is not a big thing, but maybe someone would be interested in the sourcecode? It's only 200 lines, so maybe for someone who wants to start with scripting non-adventure games in AGS this could be interesting?

Playing this with a friend is good fun, by the way. Like in the old days... :)

Allright.

Here is the ZIP-file from AGA with the walkthroughs to all those competition games.

Link!

Have fun...

There are walkthroughs to all those 1 week 1 room games available at aga's page, as far as I know!

Awesome!

I've been wating for this game (or the demo version) for an eternity it seems.

Especially if you click on a screenshot in the preview article and then use those buttons on top called "next medium" or "last medium", you'll see some awesome extra screens!
Oh, and if you visit the official page at www.barnettcollege.com and then go to links and click on the artists portfolio, you'll see atleast one more extra screen there, as well!

* by extra screen I mean one that is not featured on the official "www.barnettcollege.com" page!
