Does anyone know how to use this to create a character?

There has to be someone in this large community...  :=

No, seriously, please read the FAQ and/or sticky thread here and you'll get help!

Try this:

Code: ags

if(a > 5 && *a > 5) {}

Should work!

I tried doing something similar on AGS and it broke!

;D

He probably means hold with his mouse (obviously := keep on pushing the mouse button down on the top bar)....

That's a strange problem, but it doesn't sound AGS-related (with that I mean: some driver conflict etc... not an AGS-internal bug).

That you downloaded the newest drivers makes it even stranger...

Your font is cool, but a little hard to read in my opinion. I don't know what others say, but I suggest either making it thinner or using automatic outlines maybe?

Game looks good and I like the grey faces idea!

non adventure game made with ,

Made with what?

If you can do graphics and scripting etc. all by yourself then do one game by yourself and put all your effort into it and then come back and you'll get others in no time...

And show your work frequently in the Critics Lounge, this will give you a lot of good advice, just like you would have a team behind you...

Not really funny, but - anyways... I guess, I just felt like wasting bandwidth...
#2048
Now they are, and they are a - a - awesome!  :o :o :o

Very, very good graphics, looks very professional! WOW!

Great work!!!

Although I am not a real SG fan, I will play this game only for the awesome visuals!

Hmm..... I don't remember right now why I wanted to wait until the official 2.7 comes out... Strange...

Anyways, I've got too much private (not computer related) stuff to do right now, so I'll have to delay the project for a week at least anyways...

That doesn't really belong in this thread anymore, so I guess I'll shut up now... :)
#2050
Thanks - yes, it still is very relevant to me, since I will restart 'Troopers' - my project - once again and then code in the 'new' 2.7 style, but I'll wait with that until the official 2.7 is out!

First off: I strongly recommend, that if you want to continue with a medium-length game, then start with an adventure, it's what AGS is made for!
To create those action-games or action-sequences, you just have to be an advanced programmer. Why not simply start with an adventure first? It is way easier, trust me!

Ok, still want to give you advice on your problem: That depends on what your shot is going to be, I mean there is not a shoot function in AGS, you'd probably have an object there, which plays a shooting animation and then you'd have to check if a player (an enemy) has been hit at the coordinates where the player aimed at and then cause damage.

But this stuff is more like a meal than a snack so I really encourage you - as mentioned above - to start with a simple adventure project - after all it's what AGS is made for and adventures can be great without action-sequences...

If you still want to continue with that stuff you can PM me for specific help - if I can find the time, I'll give you some advice on how to do those things...

oh come on, he said:

if it is in manual then call me a idiot.

I was just trying to be funny, I guess...
#2053
I don't think it's in the manual, but it's so simple that I'll still call you an idiot.

Idiot. ;D

Go to the Cursor Pane in AGS and you'll see'em...

Easy, wasn't it?

I've never heard of NBC Europe, is it a German general entertainment channel?

Yes, that's true. They usually don't show adventure stuff, and since they can hardly show shooters anymore (because of brutality and violence and stuff) they basically show rpgs and simulations...
Back in the day I liked it, because has a nice atmosphere with those guys to it and I also like the games they were reviewing.

It's on every weekday from 10:00 pm to 12:00 pm or from 22:00 till 0:00.

By the way, that is probably the first time ever I answered a question by CJ!!!11!!111!

Advanced Technical Forum / Re: sin(x)

There are many ways how a sin function is useful in an adventure game.
Just think about those awesome new custom made transition/fade effects, that'd be possible using this sin function in combination with the RawDraw functions...

It's a live show, which has already created a lot of funny situations on stage and on air!
#2057
First of all please use a proper title for your 'thread'!

This is not an AGS-related question so it does not belong here anyways...

Before this gets locked/deleted: A thread is what you just created, it is a new entry in the forums, you can answer, quote and edit it! Oh - and deleted as mentioned above!
#2058
QuoteBad: The AGS editor crashed on-air.
That is bad indeed, but nothing compared to that blue screen, Microsoft got, when they showed the 'new' Windows 98...

After all, I used to love and watch that show for like years, but now I don't have the time to watch it anymore and it also got kinda worse with time...

I should've watched it yesterday, but for some reason I keep reading those time-critical threads always when it's already too late... *sigh*
#2059
Please don't post BMPs!

Well, I guess you are just showing your idea with that picture, since you did not continue in his style (no shading etc...).

I'd like the camera more as a black object (outlined) in the right-upper corner, that'd be cool!

MrColossal: Allright, I don't know what in the world put this thought about anti-aliasing and free-rotating in paint in my head... sorry about that...

And, yeah I'd sure love such a function! (Very useful for non-adventure games as well! )
