Thank you for the nice words!

Yes, it is quite an ambitious project, but if you spend enough time on it it's ok.

NEWS: Dynamic weather-system redone and improved! New weather-visuals as well!

There is not going to be a new screenshot showing this stuff, because I don't want to give away too much features at this moment of time... Stay tuned, because a playable demo ( way better than that technical beta, which is already been released ) is not too far away ( though not really close either )...

Thanks to 'Neutron' for those sprites!

if he's german: in german it translates to:

Spoiler

nigger

Oh yeah, they do... Trust me!

I do speak german and it is a great episode... it is really really crazy... the only criticism would be, that it doesn't fit to the other episodes because it is just... so... stoned...

But it is really fun to play!

in german it is correctly spelled except the double 'e' should be a single one...

what it means should be clear to everybody...

Double-check if you have the views set up correctly ( loop 0 - 3 ) and everything else, because it has to work if everything is set up correctly...

QuoteWell, why doesnt the talking view work?
Of course this doesn't say a lot. Tell us what you did and how or take screens from AGS and the settings, upload them and show'em here...
#2087
the demo game features some cutscenes... I am not exactly sure if that helps you but you should check it out if you didn't already...

to assign a view to an object use the SetObjectView command!

Go ahead and have a look at it for yourself and add the inventory feature.

It would probably be faster if I write that resizing stuff for my GUI by myself, because I am bad in understanding somebody else's code and I would probably have to recode most of it anyways.

QuoteYour GUI looks beautiful by the way.

Not trying to be rude or anything but, you see, a lot more than those two thousand people who died on 9-11 die everyday in Africa because they get abused by american companies...

(oh and I don't get offended by you posting Adolf Hitler pictures although I'm german, so don't get offended by 9-11 pictures)

Anyways, next: Draw a front view of your house!

About your background:

Looks ok, but it is simplest photoshopping. there are tons and tons of tutorials on how to do those on the net. and the text effect is a simple font with a quick blending mode/gradient overlay. To do the background you render clouds, edit the colors ( press ctrl+u ) and put it on colorize... Then you do that distortion->polar coordinates effect and that's it. this is just guessing, but doing that will give you exactly what you have there.

To somebody who does not know any photoshop / professional image editing at all this may look cool and professional, but everybody else will recognize that this stuff is very basic...

For example on: www.good-tutorials.com there are tons of tuts on how to do stuff with three mouse clicks that look just like your pic...

Not too bad. I doubt that "Main Menu" should be in that list and you should put "Manipulate" and "Look at" first in the list, but I guess you just wanted to show the resizing GUI feature and you did a very good job there.
#2092
You also messed up the bigger or smaller ( < or > ) signs... your conditionals can never be true. change them around since < means smaller and > bigger...

^^

you know that you commented all those SetBaseline commands out, right?

If not, then remove thee "//"s before every SetBaseline!

EDIT: I meant SetWalkBehindBase commands, not SetBaseline!

ah. now I understand. you mean taking out options, that make absolutely no sense at all...

that idea is not too bad, but it would be quite a task to resize the gui window and I think it's not worth the time...

anyways, thanks for the idea.

But that would make the game really easy, wouldn't it?

Imagine you can already see what works without actually trying everything out. That's what adventure games are about ( atleast for me ), because that's basically what you do. Run around looking for combinations...

Allright - I included all the suggestions so far...

Now I think it's coming really close to 'the perfect gui'...

Any more ideas anyone?

Thanks for the suggestions!

I will remove the walk to command since it is senseless ( I thought about that earlier, but somehow I simply forgot about it ), I will rearrange the order of the buttons ( First the dynamic "Interact" button, then "Look At" and then "Talk To" )and then I'll also confine the GUI pop-up window to the screen boundaries...

I'll also consider increasing Joe's walking speed!

no, but please feel free to... ^^

Feels funny speaking english to someone who's living basically right next door...

No, that little test game is not going to be included in my main project - it's just a side project I started with my friend and I was trying this new GUI out. We will hopefully finish it, but it is going to be a pretty short game, I guess...

And there's yet another new screenshot available... Check it out!
