Oh, I had the Sims Insanity really badly last summer. I became hyper organized- "I will wake up, eat, clean, bathe, go to work, come home,   eat, have fun, and sleep"

And I'm really bad about collecting an "inventory." I buy coats with lots of large pockets and carry around everything you could ever want. I'll have gum, cough candies, bandaids, notebooks, pens, hair brushes, medication, keys, wallets (I had two in my pockets for the longest time), loose change, a bottle opener, paperback novels, scripts, and on and on all stuffed into my pockets I might not need a certain item right NOW, but who knows when I might need it in the future?

And I've combined the keys, the wallet and the bottle opener into one item, as well. Oh dear.

By the by, where did that "You know you've played too many adventure games when..." list go?

It's not just GIF files- you can also use PNG or JPG.

And the picture just has to be on a website somewhere- but probably not a free site like geocities or tripod, because they won't let you hot link (access a file without going to the website).

While you're logged in, click on the "profile" link at the top of any page.

Then, on the left side of the page, under "Modify your profile," click "forum profile information." From there you can add an avatar (the little picture), a signature, and all sorts of other good stuff.

In order to add an avatar, you need to have a picture no larger than 60x60 uploaded somewhere that allows hotlinking, like image shack or photo bucket. Just put the URL for said picture in the "I have my own pic" box, click change profile and you're good!

I like the shading on the new one- it's much more realistic. But the colours are really weird.

Linework and shading from the new one+texturing and colours from the old one=TEH WIN!!!

Rui: I misremembered.  :-[ It wasn't in the book. It was in an interview Jane Jensen did with JA+

QuoteRabid Gabriel Knight fans have argued the sexual preferences of von Glower for years. Is there any validity to these rumors, or are the fans reading more into the character than you intended?

Part of the interesting thing about werewolvery as a theme is that it's about primitive, carnal appetite. When I developed GK2, I was trying to express that in as many ways as I couldâ€"gluttony, drink, sexual appetiteâ€"a kind of voracious approach to life. In a word, hedonism. To me, von Glower was a character who was open to any and all forms of pleasure, though he had pretty refined tastes. And (to get blunt now) bisexuality implies an "anytime, anywhere, anyone" hyper-sexuality. That fit with the vision of the werewolf I had in mind. No morals, completely guided by instinct and desire.

I don't think it's that men bond more deeply than women- I think it's just that women form these bonds far more readily, and therefore they aren't as remarked upon.  I'm not a very social person, yet I know several women whose sentences I can finish and they'll finish mine, and whom I know as well as I know myself.  But it isn't remarkable because they're my "girlfriends."  However, it seems to me that guys have lots of casual friendships, and maybe one "the brother I never had" relationship.

Oh, and the people who seem to be reading too much into Gabe and Von Glower's relationship, aren't. In the book JJ expands on this to a point where there really isn't any doubt that Von Glower plays for both teams.

Mmm... I'm a big tea drinker. Specifically, Twinnings Earl Grey, taken with a generous dollop of honey. When I'm eating out, though, I'll usually get Red Rose double double.

For those of you who don't speak Canadian, Red Rose is a brand of tea, and double double is having a warm beverage, usually coffee, with two cream, two sugar.

Dorcan (he who wrote Mourir en Mer) redid his website. Everything is in a kerfuffle there, so there could be a problem with the hosting for the game.

As for other games, I really couldn't help you.

Zor: Yay! Someone else who's read the Dirk Gently novels!

Einoo:
Spoiler

1. Seeing as in the trailer Arthur's house is destroyed, we can assume that the bulldozer bit occurs.
2. He wears the dressing gown in every shot in the trailer, so it's a good chance that will be so.
3. Stephen Fry is credited as playing the voice of "The Book." In other words he's the narrator.

Is it April yet? How about now?

Could you format it somehow, please? There is sidescrolling galore, which makes it very hard to read.

Bass, don't give up.  Ever.  You've been in two life threatening situations, and you've survived them. If you were supposed to die over this, it would have happened already.  You've been given two extra chances at life. I wouldn't waste it.

Like LGM said, stay strong.

General Discussion / Re: Webcomics
Mon 21/02/2005 04:25:52
Of course the vast majority of webcomics suck. Any random person can make one. Then they try and do too much, get discouraged, never update and forget about it.

But then there are some webcomics that are good, and some that are awesome. These are more rare, but they are SO worth it!

And it definetly seems that webcomics are funnier than print. There's only so many times Garfield can state that he hates Mondays before it becomes stupid.  The only print comic I can still stand to read is For Better or For Worse, because it doesn't have any running gags at all.

When you just want to know what one word is, check Urban Dictionary.  Unfortunately, it can give you a lot of varied definitions. For example the many faces of mookie.

I'm only saying my childhood is destroyed because I remember the shows being a lot different than they are.

I rarely even played Mario Bros. as a child, and never once have I played Zelda. The TV shows didn't alter my perception of the games. If anything, the games have altered my perception of the TV shows.

And www.yourthemannowdog.com is the original of those things. Ohnoes, wellexcusemeprincess and even potatoes, which featured Samwise Gamgee doing the potatoes rap (boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew) were all hosted on www.ytmnd.com. I don't know why they aren't anymore.

Okay, everyone just needs to take a deep breath and relax

Calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean, it's just discussion about movies, it doesn't matter. Ohmmmmmmmm....

I'm shocked. These shows didn't seem so bad back when I was a kid.  And I don't remember Link being so smarmy, either.

My childhood memories are destroyed. :'(

I'm not too happy with the way Lollote ended up, but other than that I'm quite pleased with how this turned out.

edit: Just for kicks, here's the pictures I originally used.

I don't know what language it is, but it sure isn't Italian- or any Romantic language as far as I know.  It's hard to tell, though, since the lead male singer is making a funny voice so you can't judge by his accent.

Could it just be giberish?

what about my "what state and/or providence..etc. one? lol jk ;)..but really is that one worth being in the pop. threads?

I think the more important question is if that, or the "Long overdue post your picture here" thread even, deserve to be at the top of the general forum. After 30 pages, I think the LOPYPH thread counts as "popular."
