A friend of mine usually doesn't have fingerprints.  She makes miniature wooden toys (we're talking so small you can hold them on your fingertips) and constant use of sandpaper and solvents wears her fingerprints away.  When she immigrated to Canada from South America, they almost didn't let her in because they couldn't take her prints.

So using one of these keyboards would be a royal pain in the rear for her.

DG: The Law and Order reference filled me with joy. Huzzah to you, good sir!

For some reason or other, the word "wabsite" just cracked me up.

This community has given me inspiration to work on my game when I feel uninspired, a deeper understanding of writing and art, and a sense that, even when I feel like I'm being ignored in real life, I can still make a contribution that someone out there will pay attention too.

Unfortunatly, it has also added the words "teh" and "poobungies" to my vocabulary, which gets me some really funny looks when I use them in real life.

I always have the same icon layout and headings (ooooo... headings) but the picture changes around.  This is it today.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Oh, the wonderful images you can get from British tabloids.

General Discussion / Re: Summer o phat
Tue 07/09/2004 02:49:20
I worked worked worked.  I had about 53 hours a week between two jobs.  I had two consecutive days off that were not sick days.  Worked at the rennaisance festival and impressed people with my "realistic" English accent. Fell in love AND out of love (he had a girlfriend and didn't tell me. Jerk.)  Got obsessed with the Sims.  Started working on my adventure game again. Moved.

There was something I meant to do this summer that I didn't get around to. What was it? Oh yeah, SLEEP!

This is what I wear to work.

Okay, so I'm an actor at a rennaisance festival.Ã,  But it's still my job! My character has the charming name of Albertina Eggerly, and I made that wooden mug on the ground myself.Ã,  I should probably paint it blue.

I have bronchial asthma.  This means that the bronchial  tubes in my throat go into overdrive when I come into contact with my triggers or I do something aerobic.  I'm really lucky in that my only main trigger is cold air, so I don't have to worry about animals or pollen or anything like that.  However, I'm really unlucky in that my main trigger is cold air, and I live in Canada.  Early mornings are already cold enough to set me off.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Clothing issue

Darth's suggestion reminds me of that scene in Back to the Future III when Doc gets Marty "cowboy" clothes so he'll fit in in the old west.

Niiiiiice.

Because he was wearing strange clothing, he had to work around people's reactions, get proper clothing, etc etc. Which made things a lot more interesting for the viewer. Interesting is good.

I work at a Greek fast food joint, and everyone (or at least it seemed like everyone) decided that to celebrate the Olympics they were going to buy souvlaki and greek salads. And they were all dressed in Roots Olympic clothing. Followers! Not an original idea among them!

Happy Olympics, everybody.

Mmmmmm... Arby's.  Their Market Sandwhiches are fantastic.  Honey mustard, red onion, tomato, leaf lettuce and sliced meat on nut bread.

I was also all set to reply to the inventors thing "Alexander Graham Bell was Canadian! He invented the telephone in Brantford, Ontario!"  But then I bothered to actually look it up and it turns out I've been wrong all these years.

But there is an Arby's in Brantford, which I always go to when I drive through there to go visit my grandma.  Therefore, this post has some sense of cohesion.

Wow, Mousemat! I'm impressed!Ã,  I can't even tell you photoshopped them! And that's a hilarious adventure game reference as well![/sarcasm]

It's photoshop phriday, not google image search phriday.

Aw.... I liked The Villiage.  It wasn't so much the twist at the end that was good, it was the twists in the middle.

So I stick my tongue out at you. Mlneah.

More ladies for the laddies?  Sorry, that just popped into my head and I had to use it.

This one I'm definetly going to have to sit out.  Australia would be a little (read: incredibly and unimaginably) out of range for my bank account to pay for.

Whether or not you've ever made a game has very little to do with your status of "noobiness" (I made a word!)

M0ds has yet to complete a game, yet he's a moderator and has songs written about.
Cornjob never completed a game of his own, and still got the first AGS Lifetime Achievement award.
I've never made a game, but I'm fairly certain I'm not a newb. (fingers crossed)

My guide to whether or not you're a newbie is if I can remember other things you've posted and maybe some things about you.  Dart stopped being a newbie really quickly in my mind because she mentioned she lived in Ontario, and I do as well.  So I started paying attention to her posts.  Jet-XL, though he's been around a long time, only recently stopped seeming newbish to me.  Unfortunatly, that corresponded to when he added the jiggling boobs to his signature.

It's subjective, don't worry about it.  Just be clever and all is well.

You need to buy my patented 'essence of ManWhore'!!! Its special formula will turn you into a ladykiller!!! Oh yeah!

Disclaimer: Please do not turn into a ladykiller.  Most women do not appreceate being killed, and being able to talk to their corpses isn't really anything to be proud of.
