And I'm bumping this thread to wish MYSELF a happy 21st birthday! Yay me!

Umm... I'm not four days late. Nope. Not me.

I haven't been at the computer that actually has my game stuff on it in the past week. But here it is, just for you, The first three puzzles of Candace Grace: Bard's Blood... written out in prose. I just find it easier to do the planning that way.

Moo.

Edit: And I forgot to mention- large quantities of swearing.  Hooray!

The first part really really sounds like Loch Lomond.  The rest... I don't know.

Do not overthink these things

Seeing as people on the boards are in just about every time zone, so a sensible time for one person would have other people asleep or at work or whatever, I think all day is the only way to do it.

Just a suggestion for the jewelery.  Henry is usually shown with a chain on his shoulders like so, rather than the solid neck thing you have now.

I don't know for sure, but something like that might be a bit easier to place on the character than the solid one you have now. I can see a gap between the shoulder and the jewelery.

I absolutely LOVE the little hat.

www.elfwood.com is another good one. It's specifically for sci-fi/fantasy related artwork or stories, and has a lot of great tutorials as well.

Dragons are animals! They're just mythical ones.

I like dragons. Can you tell?

Actually, it's really hard for people who don't have children to get surgical sterilization, such as vasectomies or tubal ligations. There's a lot of doctors who refuse to give them because "you might change your mind!"

Which is really frustrating for people who KNOW they don't want kids.

So I was trying to find the website for my summer job (renaissance festival again, woo!) and found nothing but a place holder site and a bunch of blogs saying "i went to the ontario renaissance fair with billy-jo-sue it was kewl ^_^b" Oh, and I also found this.

That's me on the left with the big mug (still not a blue cup)

I did not take this picture. I don't know who took this picture. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!

I saw it. For a LONG time I felt like I was just watching the movie as homework- you can't be a geek unless you've seen the new Star Wars! I found myself wishing for a clock so that I could figure out how long I was going to have to sit there.

My "Yay! Nifty!" moments
Spoiler
1. Anakin getting fried. It both explained how he became "more machine than man," and Hayden Christiansen got set on fire. Result!
2. Yoda riding piggyback. Awww...
3. Anakin and Obi-Wan rescuing Palpatine. It was just a cool sequence.  Though the R2 humour was a biiiiit much.
4. The "we can rebuild him" bit at the end. Which is what we've all been waiting for for the past three movies. FINALLY!

My "Boo! Yucky!" moments
Spoiler
1. What's with R2 having a jet propulstion system?  Where did that come from?
2. Why did EVERYBODY seem to get their hands chopped off? Mace Windu, Anakin, Dooku, Grievous got his hands chopped off TWICE... Are we beginning to see a pattern?
3.Grievous in general. Would YOU follow a guy who's name means "causing grief or anguish?" Doesn't seem like a nice guy.
4. "Be evil!" "No!" "Be EVIL!" "Okay!" Good lord, grow a backbone, Mr. Skywalker.
5. Why wouldn't Leia notice that she looks NOTHING like her "parents?" Dark skin, black hair for them, pale skin, brown hair for her. Yeesh.

I took a fish head out to see a movie, didn't have to pay to get it in!

Ahem.

Dr. Demento type songs make up most of my MP3 collection, but I've never actually heard his show. Weird.

The movie was okay. Not as good as the TV show or the books, but it was okay. They left out some of my favourite bits (Majikthise and Vroomfondel were nowhere to be seen, and Mr. Prosser didn't lie down in front of the bull dozer :'() and some of the stuff they replaced it with was just sort of bland. And the ending was baaaaaaaaad.

But I must admit, I surruptitiously rocked out to the opening theme.

Here's the rules, at least in Canada.

You can use up to twelve consecutive words from a copywrited work and still be able to claim it as "your own." This covers most cliches, commonly used phrases and sentences that just happen to be identical.  After that, you are required to properly attribute it to it's original creator or at least get permission.

If the work is in the public domain (as in the creator has been dead for 50+ years, it was originally meant to be a public resource, plus a few other situations I'm too lazy to look up) do what you want with it. Just don't try and pass it off as your own work.

Just alluding? Go nuts.  Just don't claim it's yours.

How the heck do you get so high? I can't get past 800!

Critics' Lounge / Re: What's in a name?
Mon 25/04/2005 04:19:18
I think "Prodigal" is a really good name, actually. It's a bit unusual, so it stands out. It also fits the plot fairly well (mwahaha! I know what the plot is! NEENER!) Of the original list, "The Cycle Lingering" also nicely fits the plot, but the strange grammar makes me cringe.

Heh.. what about combing them? "The Prodigal Cycle" sounds kind of cool.
