Hi, Femme! I was just wondering where you'd got to!  Welcome back!

This is cropped from a picture of my whole floor taken at a residence formal.

I love those gloves.

And yes, that is what I really look like. No photoshopping this time.

FAR too linear.

Actually, I don't think that this would NEED to be linear. You could go back over a panel to get to a different view, or go up or down rather than just left to right.

Though it's kind of an interesting idea, I don't really see how it could be used in an adventure game. It might be very cool in an action game, though.

Quite obviously, that isn't coal. That's alien propulsion fuel from Xargon 6.Ã,  And alien propulsion fuel from Xargon 6 is grainy.

I remember the animation Iqu was talking about.Ã,  Urple was dancing and singing with a mop or something.Ã,  It wasn't that it was more detailed, it was just bigger.Ã,  I think it was for a cut scene.

EDIT: Found it!

OPEN window.

You never said it was locked!

Okay, okay, I'll do a real one.

Added inventory: Rope
Added Scenery: Tree

USE shrub on pot (shrub is transplanted)
USE rope on shrub-in-a-pot (rope is tied to shrub-in-a-pot, around the shrub, specifically)
USE rope on tree (rope is looped over tree branch.)
USE rope on boulder (rope is tied around the boulder, and shrub in a pot is lifted off the ground.)
PUSH shrub-in-a-pot (it swings, the pot is released from the bush and goes flying through the window)

Whee!

In honour of your birthday, I shall give you a brand new car!

Please note: May not be a real car. May in fact be a picture of a car.Ã,  Dragonrose LLC makes no guarantees as to drivability of photograph.  But it is a very pretty picture.

Here's something similar

It's only inventory items, though.

I prefer history games to futuristic games.

Shbaz really ought to stop keeping track of all of Boyd's pictures. Nobody likes a stalker.

Because I'm a girl

And next up will be "I want to stay home and have fun!"

MOTAS: Cool! I love your game!

I like the idea for the competition as well.  And it doesn't have to be ways to escape a room every time, either. Other simple problems could be adressed as well- you have to get something from a high shelf or you have to get someone's attention while they're concentrating on something else.

Dart: Then you obviously haven't been playing it long enough.  I just hit level ten, and MAN does my wrist hurt.

Yay for Dumas! I'm a big Count of Monte Cristo fan.

Most remakes of it (movies, comics, TV shows and what not) changed the story a great deal from the original text. There were subplots about drug use and sex that wouldn't go well with censors. So the book doesn't seem as "old and dated" as, say, The Three Musketeers.

Yes, it does mean steam.  That is H20 in a gaseous state.  Water vapour (The stuff you get from a humidifier) is just very fine dropplets of water, so it's still technically liquid.

And steam burns worse than boiling water. I've got scars to proove it.  :'(

Good books? Hmmmm...

-Anything by David Eddings.  There's only two books by him that I haven't read, because they are not at my friendly neighbourhood library. I read his "Belgariad" and "Mallorean" series at least once a year. I just finished reading his newest book "The Elder Gods" last night.  They aren't life changing books, but they're great fun.  Bonus points if you can pick out the Medieval English styles he copies!

-Millenium Rising by Jane Jensen (yes, the GK Jane Jensen). This book made my head hurt in the fun way.

-The Concubine's Daughter by Denise Chong.  It's a history of the women in the author's family.  It's a really interesting look at race relations and the role of women in Canada over the past seventy years or so.

I have to admit, the first thing that pops into my head when I download something that could be zipped, but has an installer instead, isn't "Wow. How pretty," but "Wow.  How pretensious."  Except it would most likely be spelled better.

I like the zip file.  When I download new versions I don't need to get things like CJ's LucasArts template (which I'm never going to use), and I don't really care about a lot of the documents.  I just unzip what I need, and the rest of it stays compactly on the harddisk in case I DO need it one day.

About the 52/48 split on the vote: approximatly 1160 people wanted the zip. 960 wanted the installer.  A difference of 7 people is almost 50/50.  Not 200.

AAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could live with the cancellation of Full Throttle. I could live with the cancellation of Uru Live. I could even live with the cancellation of Sam & Max 2.Ã,  But this... this is EEEEEVIL!

QuoteFirst the news on Gray Matter that everyone in the adventure community has been breathlessly anticipating. Gray Matter (aka Project Jane-J) has temporarily been put on hold.

Okay.Ã,  I know it's not really that bad.Ã,  I know that other would-be games have suffered much, much worse fates.Ã,  But Gray Matter was the game that had me running around the house making squeaky noises of delight when I heard about it.
This was the game that was going to make up for the open-ended conclusion to GK3.  This was the game I was going to run out and buy the first day it hit the shelves. I'd pay full price to support this.  And now it's on hold.

I guess it's for the best, though.  If JJ thinks she can make Adventure Games profitable again (she plans on doing an episodic AG, where you can buy small portions of the game and download them over the net, trying to attract the casual game market and the hard core adventurers) more power to her.

Wow. I think I went through the seven stages of grief in like, five minutes.Ã,  You know you're too wrapped up in adventure games when... ::)<---(ugly smiley. want the old one back)

I actually like the gender thing. Though it is kind of funny to be called "that DragonRose guy," it does get kind of old.  And I'm sure guys with ambiguous names (WanderLady and Highwaygal, anyone?) get kind of sick of the confusion as well.

But post count can DEFINETLY go.  Just seeing them I'm tempted to spam.
