How about this?

I think the reason he looked like a turtle was because his head was so offset from the body.  Also, frogs have long legs.

Mmmm... caffine-licious

EDIT: DANGIT!!!! Two entries in the time it took me to draw one.

You can advertise in the ACR thread (at the top of this forum) or look in the Offer Your Services thread for people willing to draw things.

It's also strongly recommended that you actually tell people what the game is about, rather than just saying "u draw, i do the other things."  Is it a funny game? A serious game? How long is it? What do you have done already?

Or, the much more obvious answer: Shbazjinkens has no friends.

I personally think they'd watch something by the Cohen brothers.  Why? Because the Cohens have a definite sense of style to their movies, along with humour and intellectual stimulation.  From what I know of Tarrantino and Sofia Coppola movies, these are important aspects in movies that they make, so I'd have to assume it's something they'd like to watch.

Either that or they'd be sick to death of style, humour and intellect and rent Eight Legged Freaks.

Oops. I actually did miss that.  Ummm... carry on.

You mentioned that you are using backgrounds for menus.  Just so we can understand, are you making your GUI's as rooms? Or are they menus along the lines of  an intro screen on another game.

Also, about point 4: AGS has it's own file compression format for backgrounds, making them smaller than what you import them as.  JPG's wouldn't be good for backgrounds anyways, because it is a lossy format.  You shouldn't be saving them as PNG's anyways.  I thought that you could only import BMP's and PCX's.

Have you tried looking at Greek myths that actually involve Centaurs?  They were they tried to steal brides from weddings, they were often drunk, and in general they were more concerned about having fun than anything else.

Exception to the rule was Chiron, who was the teacher of Jason and Achilles.  He was very wise and formal- so unless he's the straight man, he'd be no good for basing a comedic game off of.

Maybe you could have some sort of story where your Centaur needs to kidnap the princess instead of saving her?

That is pretty spiffy news.  But that is not what I posted to say.

It's nice that Yufster doesn't really hate Remixor. But that is not what I posted to say either.

What I must say is this: It is incredibly creepy when YakSpit posts right under Mr. Hyde. Eyeballs everywhere!

DG: The Canadaian "Eh" sound is usually pronounced "ay." So that's a much more apt comparison than you might have thought.

Going back to the very first post- Kinoko, I'm impressed!  I've been exposed to Canadian and American accents my whole life, and I STILL can't always tell them appart- at least the east coast US and Ontario/BC accents. Southern US and East Coast Canadian are so different from just about every thing they're easy to tell apart.

But when they made those books, we're talking a couple hundred pages at least three feet square with barely a margin of empty space.  And that would be ALL the scribe-monks would do except pray, sun up to sundown. I doubt kaaZ or anyone else using a wacom is going to be doing that amount or detail of work at any one time.

Isn't that what the "dump game text to file" option is for?  You dump whatever messages you want to check into a file, run it through a spell checker elsewhere, and import it back in.

People just have to remember to use it.
#453
Ben- That's a pretty cool idea. The problem with that is I'd end up having to do animation sequences for every room, because you aren't always seeing the characters from the same angle.  There are some bg's I've done that are very high angle or very low angle.  I'd have to do different sprites for all the different angles, and that would drive me more insane than I already am.

I might try that for my next game, though. Viva experimentation!

I think it's that his face is too busy.  Maybe try putting the whiskers off the side of his face, rather than from under his nose, or take them out all together.

You gotta watch out for those stools. They're tricksy.

Maybe your sense of humour is still under warranty. You might be able to get it replace with one that only laughs at witty jabs or something.

I always read stuff on the computer to the point that I'm actually starting to get annoyed when I get handouts and such in class.  I think e-books are great, too, because unless I'm incredibly clumsy I can't accidently sit on an e-book, destryoing the bindings and therefore losing pages.

Woooo, that's getting off topic.  I finished reading the Inventory. Congrats on an awesome review, Kinoko!

Personally, I prefer goatees over beards. And a stubble over a goatee.

Ew ew ew.  Stubble just means you can't grow an actual beard or are too lazy to shave.  And it's no fun for kissing- bleah.

I like number 1 personally.  2 is kind of cool, but people might worry that you were actually your nefariously evil twin.

I would definetly put the name of the game somewhere on those.   I'm guessing this is for some sort of japanese game, because of the barely visible symbols in the background, but other than that I have no idea what the game is.  What's the point of having a title screen if there's no title? :-)

Even sharper? Okaaaaay...

Here you go!

I put that in a link because the page is just going to get incredibly unweildy if I don't. I increased the contrast, got rid of the dithering on the walls and took out a lot of the anti-aliasing on the characters and the piano

Edit: freakin' typos
