Oh dear.  The reason that people are asking to hear a sample of your music is to find out weather or not your style would fit with their game, not to criticize your music.  If you play jazz, that wouldn't work for a medieval fantasy game.  If you play carribean music, it wouldn't work for a game set in New York.  I, for one, wouldnt' want to waste my time or yours asking for music only to find out that it's totally unsuitable for the game.

No one is posting to try and annoy you or is going to try and steal your music.  The second someone heard it in a game, it would be recognized as someone elses work.

And copyright doesn't practically mean that you have claimed ownership- that's what it means, period.

General Discussion / Re:How stupid are YOU?!

My parents keep extra loaves of bread in a chest freezer.  One day, when I was quite short, I had leaned into the freezer to get out one of said loaves of bread.  Because of my diminutive hight, I was sort of draped over the edge of the freezer, my feet not touching the ground. I grabbed a loaf of bread.  Not thinking about it, I licked my lips.

My toungue, however, went out a bit too far.  It touched a lump of frost and firmly stuck to the inside of the freezer.

So there I was, half in, half out of the freezer, unable to move for fear of giving myself a tongue-ectomy.  I started screaming bloody murder, and my sister came to see what the problem was.

"Mah un ih uh oo eh heeuh!" I yelled.  Roughly translated, this means "My tongue is stuck to the freezer!"

"I can't understand you. Take your head out of the freezer!"

"Ah CANH!"

Oh, she got some hot water to melt the ice.  Once she stopped laughing. And took a picture. Jerk.

BB was, most likely, yanking your chain.  Although it does work in if you do a psychoanalitic analysis.

TRANSLATION:

The guy couldn't find "LOBSTER" in his word search.  This made him go nuts, because he knew that he should be able to find it.  He realized at the end of the movie that he was making everything else in his life go crazy so that the missing word would make sense.  That way, the one crazy thing wasn't his fault.

However, most likely it doesn't mean anything.  It's like saying that Cheerios is an anagram for Shiereco.  Shiereco doesn't mean anything at all.  But if I blamed everything that happened in my life on this pointless fact, it would be funny.  Or at least bizzarre. And bizzarre is funny.

Edit: This is what I get for writing long replies.  Certain people who shall remain Colossal beat me to answering

It's the same with French.  In France- at least according to my high school French teacher- you might ask for "le donut."  In Quebec, you ask for "le beign."  Either way, you get a tasty circular confection with a hole in the middle.

And in English you get similar differences.  I go to a British message board occasionally, and I have trouble understanding what's being said.  Unfortunatly, after a visit to urbandictionary.com I realized all the words I couldn't understand weren't all that nice.

K I S S I N G
First comes BR, then comes FOY
At least it would if M0ds would actually finish a game!

Dang. Doesn't rhyme. Was it quick enough?

Oooo... this looks really cool. My game's really dialog heavy, so I'm definetly grabbing this as soon as I get back to residence!

I'm 5'8'', 120 lbs.  So that's 172 cm and 54 kilos.  If I lost something like two more kilos, I'd be classified as underweight. Fear my skinny little girly arms!

To be honest, I'd rather have a hundred lurkers who say nothing on a message board than one person who signs up and posts every little thought that comes into his head.

Lurking is great because it gives you a chance to get a feel of what's acceptable in the forum.  Someone who has lurked will know better than to  post links to abandonware/crack sites, or double post, or any of the other quirks that this forum has.  On other forums, such things are accepted or even encouraged.

I like lurking. I lurked on the old EZ-board forum for almost a year before registering.  I also plain old like the word "lurk."

Bah, it's late and I'm rambling. Off to bed for me.

LGM- I'm all finished and I sent mine in.  Did you actually get it?

The Darkness is an all male band. And though the voice is sped up, I'm pretty sure it's almost that high.

Oh my stars and garters! A teenage boy who ISN'T thinking about sex? Isn't that an oxymoron?  And yes, I am only teasing.

The number for me is a big whopping 0.  Not waiting for marriage or anything, just lacking in opportunity. Go team Me!

Just a note about making images for text-boxes:

Make sure that you use something small for your edge pieces, and something repeatable.  That way it can increase or decrease in size based on how much text is in the box.  Which is good.

This is my first background.  It was for a Quest for Glory fan game that never got off the ground.  Mainly because the guys who were writing the story never told me what I was supposed to be drawing... grrr...  I ended up using it in Wanderer.

Icky- I really overdid it with the blur tool, didn't I?

For the plot writing competition, we actually had one once.  Minimi ran it and it was called Originality-Quest."  However, he only ever did the one plot competion, then continued on to an unsucessful dialog writing competition. If someone would be willing to start it up again, that would be awesome!

I hope this newbie is sturdier than the last one.  We play rough with our toys, you see.

Welcome and enjoy!

Is it all right if

a) there's swearing?
b) we have someone do all three things (commit suicide, commit a robbery and save people's lives)?

General Discussion / Re:April Fool's Jokes ...

Today in my History Lecture we were learning about Hitler.  My friends and I got together with the prof for a little bit of fun.

She was going on about how music was used as propaganda, with things like the Horst Wessel song, and she said she was going to play a sample of propaganda music for us.

Suddenly, blaring over the speakers was...

"Springtime for Hitler and Germany
Deutschland is happy and gay!
We're marching to a faster pace
Look out, here comes the master race!
Springtime for Hitler and Germany
Rhineland's a fine land once more!
Springtime for Hitler and Germany
Watch out, Europe
We're going on tour!"

Yay for the Producers!

And, of course, there was the moron in my building that considered it a funny April Fools joke to pull the fire alarm at four in the morning.  Wanker.
