Holy cow, the Kandyman returneth! I thought you'd run away to an undisclosed government research facility, there to be investigated by sexy female spies! Apparently, I was both wrong and have an overactive imagination. Welcome back!

Wow. I'd forgotten about this.

I handed in my second last essay today.  I have one more due on Monday, Then it's time to start cramming for exams.

As of tomorrow, production week will have started for the play I'm in- A Midsummer's Night Dream- so basically my director owns my soul until next Saturday.

I also have to worry about applications for limited enrollment classes for next year.

Le joy.

This is one of those people that decided to skip class the day brains were handed out.  Personal favourites were when he deemed your name "problematic," and when he asked if your parents could get married.  For this situation I shall create a new swearword for him, and that word shall be- axelmunter.

A few months ago I made a bare bones Gabriel Knight Template.  It doesn't have any pictures, and the characters are just Roger and Roger's evil twin named NPC, but the scripting part seems to work well.

This includes the Gabriel Knight dialog script (created by Dorcan), a Gabriel Knight style GUI with six options, a custom control panel, and custom inventory screen.

This is missing some things from the original interface, like the tape recorder and voice-pack options.  But most stuff is in there.

Enjoy!

Out of curiosity, what game is this? I'm guessing there's a picture or something, but I'm not even getting a red X.

Unless, of course, he's trying to get rid of a baby monkey.

A LemonDEMONade stand!

Oh, you're just jealous you didn't think of it first.

Anyways, I've listened to your sample songs from the new CD.  I've had Telekenisis and I've Got Some Falling To Do playing on an almost constant loop in my head.  Very catchy.  I would buy, but I'm saving up for school next year.  When I have money, I promise I'll get it.

General Discussion / Re:How do YOU say...

Evil: But didn't you know him before AGS?

wtf?= I either read this as "wuh-tuh-fuh?" or "Doubleyou Tee Eff, Mate?" said in a very bad Australian accent.

lol= loll, as in "1 : to hang loosely or laxly  : DROOP 2 : to act or move in a lax, lazy, or indolent manner  : LOUNGE" I've just always put the word and the acronym together in my head.

omg= similar to wtf, I pronounce this "oh-muh-guh"

stfu= pronounced Stuff you

rtfm= ree-tuh-fum

Now here's a question: do you pronounce it Ay Gee Ess or ags?

I guess I also like that the concept involves neither aliens/zombies/mutants nor political intrigue/government conspiracy nor guns/swords, etc.

I have a horrible image of what would happen if a marriage breakup involved aliens, political intrigue and guns.

"Zalgon-26, you've stolen files from the government for the last time! I never want to see you again!"
"Please explain. Statement does not fit with preconceived notions of marital relationship status."
"Conceive this, bastard! *blam! blam! blam!*"

I'm a bit curious about how the parser avoids "I don't understand" messages.  I would think that happens more often with a parser than with a point and click or other kind of interface.  If you can ask the characters about music, would you also be able to ask them about songs, The White Stripes, notes, lyrics, clarinets, tunes, Rock and Roll, Beethoven,  and bagpipes?  (Those were just all the music related things that popped into my head.  If I typed "Look, a three headed monkey!" would I get a response? If I spelled things wrong, would it still understand me?  Or would I simply be ignored?

Still, it sounds quite intersting.  I'd play it, just for novelty's sake if nothing else.

No, it is an in-joke.

And the joke is this: "I'm a CUNNING LINGUIST!"

And the only people who'll get it are Narangas and me.

So there!

I thought you guys were MASTER DEBATERS.

Take of that what you will.

You mentioned that you wanted to know if the colours are weird.  So, um... the sky is green.  Is it supposed to be green?

AGS is a game creation utility. You use it to make adventure games. Everything you need to know about it is on the main page.

Instead of trying to get a team together, why don't you try joining someone else's? Play around with AGS, find out what you can do- if you can't draw, there must be something else you can do. Are you good at writing? Scripting? Writing music?

Once you know what you can do, check out the ACR thread, see if anyone needs anyone to do anything that you can do.  That way, you get some direction, everyone else gets to see what you can do, and this other person gets the help they needed.  Win-win-win situation! Yay!

Enthusiasm is great! Just have something to be enthusiastic about!

Why do I find it so hilarious that there's no picture for the Invisible Machine?

This is quite a cool idea, Modsy.  Huzzah!

Rincewind! Have you never heard of my little friend, the Zip file?  I've got high speed and it's still going to take me almost two hours to download as an MP3!

My first game ever was Demo Quest.  If we aren't counting that, I think it was Pleurghburg.  I think I actually spelled that right.  I think Demo Quest affected the way I make games by making me realize how simple things went together to make the game as a whole.  Pleurghburg was important because it gave me some plot inspiration for my current game.  Coolness.
